“2ND VISIT more than happy!”
This was our second vistit to the Golf Plaza hotel, our first being June 2012. After reading reviews on trip advisor we questioned whether we should stay again, however we were more than happy with our holiday. The hotel is very clean and spacious with friendly staff. (The restaurant staff especially friendly.) We stayed in a 2 bedroom suite during the half term holiday with our three children. The room was great, very spacious, over looking the pool area. The kitchen had all the required equiptment for a self catering holiday (including a full size oven, toaster, and coffee machine)We stayed half board, the food was tasty, fresh and plentiful, we had breakfast and dinner in the main restaurant and lunch most days from the pool bar. Three members of my family are veggies and had no problem with the food. The heated pool was cold when we first arrived, however after discussion with the management it was soon heated and the children spent many hours enjoying it. The weather was hot. The animation guy...michael was brilliant, the children loved him, he's a real professional. My husband was ill whilst on holiday and the staff in the restaurant allowed me to take his meals to the room. We didnt manage to use the spa this time. Its very close to the airport, we always hire a car (auto reisen) making the transfer time very short. the planes flying over the hotel did not bother us at all. I do not really have any negatives the only improvement for me would be a little music whist eating in the evenings! We almost booked the 5 star Sandos San Blas prior to booking this hotel. We decided to have a look around the Sandos whilst in the area, not for us for various reasons (lack of atmosphere and very dark).....we couldnt wait to get back to the Golf Plaza! We plan to visit again in August and cannot wait!
“Fantastic accommodation for the price”

Having just returned from the cordial golf plaza for a beautiful 10 days, I have realised I had nothing to fear. Our stay was comfortable, pleasurable and free from hindrance. I will break it down in this review, into relevant parts for your information. Reception Is big, very big in fact, I would say largely underused. It is manned 24 hrs and I found staff to be quite friendly without overdoing it. The fabric is mainly marble/stone flooring with large chandelier style lighting and a good covering of foliage, mainly palms and plants you would find in this dry warm region. We used to play pool in the evening as there is a table there. There is also 3 Internet stations and games station. If you bring your own pc/laptop or tablet, you will find the best wifi signal here as well as the swimming pool area. Adjoining the lobby is a small bar that serves till midnight, they also serve small snacks like hotdogs, chips etc. A tourist office is also available in the corner where you can book trips and tours on the island. Pool Area This area is lovely and very peaceful. I wouldn't say the pool is huge but it's far from small. Their is a small path that splits the pool into two with a palm tree feature in the middle. The reason for this is because one half of the pool is climatised in the winter months, November to end of Feb. We stayed 23rd Jan till 2nd Feb, the weather was fabulous 23-28 degrees everyday and sunny. There are some reports on here that the pool is not heated, this simply is not true. You only have to dip your toe in the unheated side of the pool to realise that the heated side is just that. It's not hot like a bath but it makes swimming pleasurable in the winter months. I swam the whole time as did others. Oh, the unheated side is freezing lol the brave only need bother! The children's pool is a circular pool and was used everyday by the little ones. It too wasn't cold. The depth of this pool was 0.45m. The pool area was never overcrowded, neither did we have to get up at the crack of dawn to get beds. 11 am was early enough to get a good position. As you will have read, the hotel is near the flight path to tenerife south airport. This was not a problem at all, in fact it was fun watching the different airlines coming in. I would say that on average you get 2/3 planes an hour, more on Fridays and Sundays which seemed to be busier days. It all stops around 11pm so sleeping is not a problem. One of the good things is that when you arrive you will be in your hotel in around 15 mins. The taxi fare is between 15 and 20 euros depending on the size of the cab. There were 5 of us so we needed a people carrier what with luggage and all. Animations. Hector does a great job even if he is a little too persuasive at times to get you to join in, it's all good fun though. There is a full weekly programme of things to do, aqua aerobics, table tennis comps, water polo, kids evening disco and daytime activities are all there. Snack bar We never actually ate anything in the hotel. There is a small menu, things like Spag Bol/Carbonara, burgers, hotdogs, chips, pizza, etc prices ranged from €4-€7 euro, lunch with drink. Rooms We booked a 2 bedroom apartment. I have been to many places over the years and have paid a lot more for a lot less i can tell you. The rooms were very spacious. The master bedroom was on suite with bath and shower. Toilet, bidet, wash basin with full wall mirror. Hair dryer and shave point. The bedroom had large built in wardrobes that also had mirrored slide doors. There is a dressing table, plenty of power points and a slide door that leads out to the large balcony. You can also access the balcony from the living area and the second bedroom. The second bedroom was the same except it had a free standing wardrobe and the second bathroom was just outside the bedroom door. It had a powerful shower and toilet/basin. The living room has a sofa bed and a television. Only had BBC world news in English . We used to watch sky sports in the Irish pub that's just left of the hotel going out. They do good fish and chips in beer batter. Kitchen 2 electric hobs, fan extractor. Fridge freezer and plenty of cupboard space. We used to make our own lunches. Pesto pasta with mozzarella and pepperoni. Simple things like that. There is a lidl 5 mins drive away and a large supermarket that is around 10 mins walk. Location and Transport Golf Del Sur is around 15 mins max from the airport in a car. It's on the southern tip of Tenerife and as such receives most of the best weather. There is a bus stop right outside the hotel. Buses run to playa del las Americas and Los Cristianos hourly. A timetable can be obtained from the reception. Journey times are around 40 mins and cost 2 euro each way. We hired a car and the journey times to these places were halved. A 10 min walk will bring you to an area called San Blas. This is where all the restaurants can be found. It's like a little self contained model village really with some restaurants serving tapas, British, Indian and international food. A special mention to "Rendezvous " restaurant in the winter gardens. (Turn right out of hotel, walk 5 mins you will see signs on your right.) it really does deserve its number 1 status on trip advisor, the food was gourmet. The best steak and ale pie I've ever had. Really worth checking out. You will prob have to reserve the night before, it's popular. Evening Entertainment This is all done in the piano bar from 8.30 till midnight. Bird shows, magicians, singers. Just check the boards for what is going on while you are there. Restaurant We didn't eat in the hotel but for the sake of this review we checked out the buffet. The restaurant itself is very well laid out, the tables are fully dressed and the buffet seemed ok. There is a meat station serving chicken, mini steaks, fish. Fries and Vegetables were available aplenty, as well as fruit and desserts. I would have eaten there myself but our party like to go out all the time and try different places. Pet peeves As I said earlier, the hotel is covered in highly polished stone tiled flooring. All the rooms, all the corridors everything. Looks great but the sound of moving travels right through. It wasn't a real problem but I was aware of it, hence, some of the reviews on here. It never kept me awake. I suppose it really depends on who your neighbours are and how considerate they may or may not be. All in all Don't hesitate, just book it. It's a fab, well run apart hotel. It feels new and will provide a great base to relax explore the island and above all, feel totally relaxed and comfortable. I will definitely return here.

Har besøkt hotellet to ganger. Busstider fås i resepsjonen.
“Hotel is excellent”

After previous year experience in Cordial Mogan Playa at the very first moment I was a bit disappointed. The hotel looked too simple and calm. But it was only the first impression. These to Coprdials are really different. If you are with kids and need a calm place to relax with rooms big enough for kid's games chose this one. Though it was fully booked during our stay from Dec 30, 2012 till Jan 9, 2013 we did not notice any croud of people. There were enough free place near the pool. The restaurant was always really empty. The food is quite good. Mentioned planes really did not bother us and they are not over your head.

I took my mother to The Golf Plaza in 2011 for 2 weeks, i normaly stay with friends in the next town, anyway, we stay'd here and OMG what a great Apat/hotel, we booked breakfast and evening meal and was upgraded to full board, could not fault the food at all, BREAKFAST, fab,egg bacon sausage beans toast ect, fresh pastries every day everything, lunch was a full buffet menu loads to choose from, Evening meal was as good too, always had a great choice, if there was fesh fish or steak on the menu it was cooked on a grill ain front of you, lamb chops, again a great selection, the pool is great 1 heated 1 warm, the spa is a must go, as you get a free session from the hotel
“Well worth the visit”
Beverley P , Newport, Reino Unido
My partner and Myself visited this hotel in December and we are so glad we did.Arrived quite late, the reception desk staff was very helpful. We went to the restaurant and was attended by Samantha (sammy), She is english but lives nearby. We asked Sammy where we could get milk etc for our room at that late hour, she promptly returned with milk, teabags, water. We opted for the drinks included priced holiday, which again was tremendous value for money, which included beer, wine, soft drinks and water with your evening meal and again we not disappointed, the food was lovely and also plenty of variation. The restaurant staff were extremely friendly and always smiling. We were in room 121 which had a spacious lounge with a separate bedroom. both the lounge and bedroom had sliding french doors which opened out onto a very spacious balcony overlooking the pool. The kitchen was very well equiped. Also included was a free visit to the nearby spa which is attached to the hotel, that again was lovely. The hotel is on a busy flight path, but it really didn't bother us. Golf Del Sur is a quiet resort, but has a wonderful coastal walkway. We have been to Golf Del Sur before and due to the quietness we were slightly worried about going there at that time of year, but because we had such a lovely hotel and holiday we have decided to go again in April. We thoroughly recommend this hotel
“Another fabulous stay!”

I went here for the second time on the 6th December for a week. Another fab stay, the food was great and plentiful, drink free flowing and the staff as friendly as ever. I love this place the apartments are great and spacious. Cleaned everyday by the lovely cheerful housekeepers. Hector as usual was his happy self and gets everyone involved in things if you want to. If you want a nice relaxing break this is the place. Hire a car and see the island or just relax by the pool. Can't wait to return.
“Fantastic Holiday, Great Hotel”
Linbay000 , North West England
Just returned this evening having had a superb family holiday. We have stayed several times over the last few years, this time we took a 30year old with his 26 year old girlfriend they loved the hotel, the area the food. the Irish Bar up the road and more. We had 2 lovely rooms, rooms 109 and 110 both very quiet and comfortable, 109 had sun on balcony from sunrise until early afternoon and 110 sun from sunrise to sunset overlooking the sea part of pool area golf courses. Staff here are very frienly and helpful. The food just gets better every time we stay its great having the hot plats on at breakfast bacon , eggs , omellettes all to order. At night they always cook meat and fish on the hotplates meaning they are lovely and fresh. The pool and grounds are all well kept, 1 pool was always heated not any more which is a pity, and no life guard we understand it must be costs.A jacuuzzi would be nice. We all had a complimentary visit to the spa, very nice on a cloudy day, the pool warm with jets. We are planning our next visit in 2013, stay at this Hotel its lovely xxxx
“DESCANSAR Y DESCONECTAR”
RECOMENDADO 100%
“a great family holiday!”
Charl2000 , Macclesfield, Reino Unido
This is a great hotel for its value as it has lots of activities, run by Hector. They have activities for the whole family to do. The food was great as it was all you can eat and it had a large range of hot and cold dishes. The rooms were very clean and spacious. The pools were always clean. This was a great holiday as there was so much to do, we would go back to this hotel.

Could not fault anything about cordial golf plaza, food plentiful and varied, lovely pool and surrounding, plenty of beds. All staff pleasant and helpful and Hector is superb. Will definitely return, excellent value for money(full board plus), spa re-charges your batteries, a great relaxing week
“Great Hotel, Friendly Staff, Lovely Food ,”
puffyqueen , bucks
Just got back from 8 days holiday with my 3 children , 9 , 16 , 1 , lovely hotel very clean large spacious rooms with large terrace and all the facilities. We upgraded to a 2 bedroom APT for an extra £ 20 per night which was well worth it , There was not a large amount of choice of food compared to other hotels i have stayed in but was more than enough with a choice of salads different meat fish which was cooked fresh every night .. which was nicely presented in a clean fly free environment . Never a problem getting a sun bed as hotel was very quiet was a bit worried as other reviews mentioned the planes but this really was not a problem as they stopped in the evening and i only noticed about 2 a day , Hotel is is a quiet part of town but was only ten minutes drive from las americas and all the parks we hired a car so was not a problem and the odd night paid 20 euros for a taxi but bus stop was right outside hotel , Hotel entertainment was basic but had different shows every night , snake show parrot show eagle show .singers quiz, bingo etc.. in lovely air conditioned room with lovely stylish tables & chairs, pool table . Hector did a great job in keeping the kids entertained and is a credit to the hotel I spent a very long time searching hotels before i booked this one and i would book this hotel again as it offered a high standard hotel for a reasonable price as i felt being closer to los Americas you were sacrificing luxury for proximity and i did not want to do this with a family , book it you will not regret it !!! TIP aqua land is better for younger children and siam park it better for older children both parks were great !!
clare l , Glasgow, Reino Unido
This hotels brilliant...a great well run hotel with friendly staff and loads for kids to do. Entertainment at night fir children was excellent especially hector who made my childrens holiday with all his energy fun games and dancing. I would recommend this hotel for a fun family holiday. This was our first holiday abroad with our 8 month old baby and we were quite apprehensive. However we have come back refreshed and ready to face the winter. The hotel is spacious, very clean with excellent service and staff. The food is plentiful with a good choice every night. It is a shame that there is not coffee available after the meal but the wine was free flowing and you have facilities in your room so take t bags and coffee. Our one criticism of mealtimes is that 7.30 Is quite late for children but I know that is the way of life abroad. the pool is clean and we never struggled to find a sunbed although we didnt go in peak season. the spa is worth a visit although some of the facilities were broken and be careful of the metal handle on the sauna door! there is no beach worth visiting near the hotel but the buses go regularly to los Christianos which is worth a visit. there is a lovely bar called Maria's if you walk along the coast away from the marina very cheap and what a view! all in all a lovely week and we would definitely return at this time of year again.
“"5 night stay October"”

First time in Tenerife and would thoroughly recommend this hotel. We stayed in room 137 and it was huge, although at the rear of the hotel (North facing) it was a bit noisy but did not spoil the stay. All the other comments in the previous reports we would agree with wholheartedtly but must make special comment on the helpfulness of the staff. At the reception, our special thanks go to Fernanda who always had a smile the size of the ocean and so helpful. The gentleman (did not get his name...sorry!!) on the evening desk when we arrived in the early hours of the morning 24th (flight delayed 4 hours!!! thanks Thomas Cook!!), to our late departure (check out time noon but we paid a supplement of 25 euros to stay until 1800hrs, flight was at midnight), equally helpful and always with a smile. The restaurant team under the watchful eye of the Maitre d' Sr Angel, excellent service and nothing too much trouble. Food excellent. We stayed half board and you could swap an evening for an afternoon giving the hotel 24 hours notice. Dined at the fish restaurant "Perlas del Mar" on the harbour front in Los Abrigos, a must if you like fish....you choose the one you want from the catch of the day and pay by the kilo. Had a voucher for the Spa Atlantis (part of the hotel), superb. All in all an excellent stay . Look forward to our return.

We stayed at this hotel for the second time and we were very pleased to find that the attention to detail was just as good as last year. Other reports have informed about the size of the apartments so no need to repeat those, however we must comment about the level of cleanliness throughout the hotel and most particularly in the apartments themselves. While the hotel remained mainly as last year, we did notice an improvement in the restaurant food at breakfast time. We cannot comment on lunch and dinner as we had only booked for bed and breakfast. One of the main improvements, was the addition of fresh, bacon, eggs and omelettes that were being cooked to order. This was a far cry from the food on offer last year. We ate out most evenings, but on the one night my wife did cook a meal she found that the kitchen was equipped with all the essentials that she needed and that they were all of a decent quality and of course spotlessly clean. There was also a decent size fridge, which we found important for keeping our drinks cold, especially the 'Dorada'. In the main the hotel staff were very friendly, although we did find a couple of the receptionists were less than helpful. However that could NOT be said of Fernanda, who was always cheerful and most helpful. Would we return? Yes definitely, and we would recommend it to anyone who asked. We have stayed in the hotel now twice and in the resort four times, so if anyone needs any specific questions answered, we would be glad to try and help.

Just returned from a very relaxing week. Exceptional 2 bed apartment, staff are excellent, food lovely, plenty of sunbeds, area bit quiet but if you want a relaxing holiday with good food and wonderful staff I couldn't recommend this hotel highly enough.

Felicidades

We have just got back from Tenerife. Lovely hotel, we had a free upgrade to a ground floor suite with a pool view. We requested a double room but got twin beds with a double headboard. Double beds are almost impossible to get abroad! Cleaners in 9 out of 10 days. Couldn`t fault the food, we had full board plus drinks, and we both put on weight!! Loved the planes coming in, the airport is very close, they were not a problem at all. No early morning or night flights and I slept through quite a lot of the planes! Please make use of the spa if you get access as part of your holiday deal. We spent quite a lot of time there as it was so lovely and peaceful. Nice sunbathing area too. No pressure at all to pay out for massage or treatments. Main disappointment was the lack of a beach, there is a small beach about 10 minutes away but it is volcanic (black and stoney). We went out on the bus quite a lot to Los Christianos (please go on a boat trip to see the Pilot Whales, amazing, we went out twice). Also El Medano which has quite a large beach, grey but much nicer than the local beach. Ask about buying a Bono Bus ticket. 15 euros, well worth it if you intend to go out locally. We only went to the pool once as there was a surprising number of noisy children, considering their parents had taken them out of school, but there were plenty of sunbeds (why do people put their towels on sunbeds and go out for the day????) . Good value holiday but will look for an Adults Only hotel next time.

Returned from a very relaxing holiday at this aparthotel. Travelled with my husband and we stayed in one suite, and my son, daughter and her best friend in another suite. There are lots of plus points for going to this hotel. Have listed below; * very clean throughout with maid service on 5 days out of the 7 stayed * quiet resort, if you want nightlife but don't want to live with it travel to the nearby Playas de las Americas or the little less frantic Los Christianos. * food really not bad considering what we paid, lots of fresh salads, show cooking grills and a vegetarian option other than salad every night but could be a little repetitive after a week * Didn't hear any noise from other guests at all during the evening or night * Hotel is on the flight path but as the planes go over so quickly we genuinely didn't find this a problem * Plenty on sunbeds available and no real need for the towel bed blockers to get up early, but some still did * Complementary voucher to use the Atlantic Spa circuit, well worth a visit * Animation guy Hector was excellent with the teenagers at getting them to join in the low key activities but not at all pushy to those not wanting to leave the sunbed * Spacious and well equipped room including the useful kitchen Would recommend a visit out to Masca and other villages. We did this whilst the others went to Siam Park, which they rated highly. Going up El Teide is memorable but expensive at 25 euros each for the cable car. Recommend and would stay here again.

Great hotel, love golf del sur would go again. Cost £58 a night for 3 adults great for a 4 star in Tenerife ! Legends bar in the next resort is a good night out, the owner Keith from Sheffield is great fun, makes you welcome and has all live football. Over all cheap, luxury holiday.

There were mixed reviews for this hotel on trip advisor but our experience was extremely positive! yes there is aircraft noise - but get over it! the short transfer time from the airport makes up for it and it really does not get in the way! the whole hotel was immaculatley clean and the room cleaning service was excellent. the apartments were a huge pleasant surprise. We stayed in a 2 bedroom apartment which was MASSIVE! we each had our own bathroom , which when holidaying with 2 teenage boys is a godsend! there were some people staying at the hotel who had paid for various board options and complained the food was predictable and boring - we went self catering and I would dissuade anyone from going HB, FB or even B&B if you are planning to hire a car as there is a huge supermarket less than 5 mins drive away which was so cheap. WE booked a hire car online in the UK and got a much better deal than anyone who booked it there so I would reccommend that. the resort was very quiet - it was peak season and obviously all hotels were low on guest numbers so it missed a boit of the usual bustle you would expect - but there were enough people around to make it great for the boys and the food was so cheap as they were over keen to get you into the restaurants! If I go to Golf del sur again I would ceratinly book into this hotel - they do a loyalty scheme if you book direct where you can get upgrades. theyu also have a small travel office in teh foyer where you can book trips at the same price as out and about but with less hassle - you can also get siam park tickets here and avoid the queues!

We have just come back from a 2 week stay at the Golf Plaza, I have 2 children, one 12 and the other 8. The hotel is clean, the staff are so helpful, food was excellent too. You never have to put your towels on sunbeds, there are always plenty, in all my years of holidays abroad this was a first!! We booked half board and we normally go all inclusive but to be honest it was great, drink and ice creams are no more expensive than the uk. There are shops in San Blas, 10 min walk and lots of bars to choose from. If you want lots to do its a taxi ride which isnt expensive either. We did Siam Park and pre booked the tickets in the shop next to the hotel. Wi Fi is 10 euros for 3 days, I used the phone in the room, that was around 20 euros and I used it alot! At dinner you pay 6 euros and drink as much wine beer coke ect in the restaurant. I think it was 3 uros per adults and kids are free! Hector the kids entertainer was great, water polo, killer pool darts ect except weekends which we found a bit odd as it was very quiet!!! We did Siam Park on the sunday as the locals told us it was the best day, it was as we didnt wait at all for rides. We made great friends on this holiday and the Valore bar (10 min walk) is a MUST if you stay around this area.

In the past I have never felt the need to write a review following a holiday...just thought after our stay at the Cordial Golf Plaza that I would. Had a lovely time - fab, spacious apartment with plenty of room to move around (we had a 1 bed APT, ample room for myself, husband and our 15yr old son). Stayed half board, food lovely - plenty of choice for everyone and not the usual 'bees round a honey pot' feel that you usually find when dining half board (in fact, dining was a lovely relaxing experience - staff lovely and friendly). Realised that there wasnt much price difference and maybe should have booked half board plus which included drinks with your meal, however, this wasnt a problem, as we were able to pay 3euros each (at each meal) for UNLIMITED drinks which included wine, local beer, sangia or soft drinks. The pool area was lovely, plenty of terraced area, never had to fight for a sunbed (which is a first!). Now moving on to entertainment - the lovely Hector... Kept many of the kids/teenagers and competitive fathers amused with his daily games of killer pool, darts, shuffle board, water polo, table tennis.....his enthusiastic, friendly, fun personality just shone through to complete our holiday. As someone else has mentioned - the only downside is the evening entertainment - this was indoors and aimed at the younger children. Not a problem for us as we enjoyed exploring the area on an evening and spent most nights either in one of the Irish Bars or at the Caberet Bar by the Marina. Whilst we have no complaints at all about the food, it would be nice next time to go bed and breakfast as there are some lovely restaurants close by (by the Marina and in San Blas) which we would have loved to have tried. Just a TIP:- the hotel do allow you to change your evening meal to lunch (as long as you give 24hr notice) so if you do decide to eat out you dont lose out on a meal... we chose to do this on several occasions. All in all a wonderful relaxing holiday!!!

We visited this hotel in April 2012, and although the weather was as bad as they have seen for years, we were sufficiently impressed to want to go back in August 2012. We were not disappointed, and with the weather vastly improved and the consistantly high levels of cleanliness and staff care, we have had one of the best holidays we can remember. The Spa was a must, particularly when it got too hot outside, with its cool plunge pool and indoor pool/jacuzzi, the hotel is not on the beach. Although we dont normally do half board (preferring to eat out), we were very pleased to see that, not only was the food lovely and varied, the staff went to great lengths to keep everything clean and presentable. The breakfasts were either continental or freshly cooked bacon and eggs (to your liking including omelottes) but my children would have liked pancakes, I believe these were offered on one day but perhaps these could be made available more often. One last thing, the evening entertainment in the hotel was not great for our 12 and 15 year old kids, maybe ok for younger. We found 'Volare' a live music bar just down the road a great place to visit.
“Brilliant Family Holiday”
lindacrv, Erskine, Reino Unido
Huge 2 bedroom apartment. Very clean and towels changed every day. Kitchen is basic but not needed. We were a family of 2 adults and 3 children (12,10 and 9). Pool was brilliant. Sunbeds were reserved by patrons (even though you were told you could not!!!) so that was a bit annoying but we only had one day where this was a problem. Aircraft noise not an issue, you just get used to it!! The animation team, Hector, was an absolute gem !! Our holiday was all the better for his daily pool activities. He was fantastic with the kids young and old!!! Golf del sur is quiet. We hired a car and were glad we did. We travelled out every night to various restaurants in San Blas and the major resorts. Will definitely go back again in a couple of years.
“Fantastic Family Holiday”
Hotel is fantastic! As a family of five, we arrived on 9.7.12 until 23.7.12 and stayed in a spacious 2 bedroom/2 bathroom apartment, 3 patio doors leading onto balcony. Rooms cleaned and towels changed 5 days per week. Plenty of sunbeds and umbrellas to go around. Poolside activities with the lovely Hector included, killer pool, darts, ping pong, dancing, water polo and aqua gym. All members of staff were happy and helpful. Hope to return very soon.
“Quiet location but excellent hotel.”
KeriG, South Wales,United Kingdom
We are a family of three - with a daughter aged 3 years - who have just returned from an 11 nights holiday at the Golf Plaza Hotel in Golf Del Sur. The hotel is very well presented and immaculately clean. We stayed on a self catering basis and our room was a one bedroom apartment that was very clean and spacious, with a lovely kitchenette and bathroom. The maid service was regular and towels were changed often. We had a large balcony that overlooked the swimming pool, but also it had a sea view. You can hire beach towels for 10 euros per towel - these can be changed as and when you require and when you return the towels you get your money back. The swimming pools were very well maintained and clean and the childrens pool was ideal for our young daughter. The entertainer was Hector - who was very good at entertaining both children and adults and he provided many games during the day to participate in such as darts, water polo, water aerobics. There was a mini disco every evening followed by a show, quiz or bingo. The only downside to the entertainment is that the shows are repeated every week so if you are staying for more than a week then you will see the same shows again. The hotel is in the flight path of the aeroplanes but this was not a problem at all and only 10 minutes from the airport by taxi which cost 15 euros. As this area is very quiet there is a bus stop just outside the hotel that takes you to Los Cristianos or Playa De Las Americas if you are looking for a beach, more bars, restaurants, entertainment, waterparks etc. Overall the hotel is ideal for a family holiday, the staff were all very pleasant and helpful and there is nothing really that we could have complained about. A very enjoyable holiday and a hotel we would return to again.

The hotel is spotlessly clean with a lovely atmosphere and the rooms are flawless. We would highly recommend it. The view from our balcony was lovely. Lovely airy aparthotel, spacious apartment, fully ktted out kitchen, if required, we only used the kettle and fridge. room cleaning spot on, only one day without.nice view over pool and out towards the harbour, we were half board FOOD VERY GOOD we were there eary May so could not eat outside, Staff all pleasant. stroll to the small harbour and cafes on the front of the resort was about six seven minute stroll, prices in cafes very good about three to four euros for breakfast including drink. A very pleasant place to stay and will return to the Golf Plaza Hotel It is worth booking a Taxi to and from the airport which is about ten minutes away, planes come overhead but nothing to worry about..
“Excellent hotel, not so great location”
gandrbuchan, Edimburgo, Reino Unido
We have just returned from week in one bed apartment, half board. Excellent hotel, very relaxed, friendly and helpful staff, huge room overlooking pool area, immaculate (as was the whole hotel). Lovely pool area, Any requests we had were always met without any hassle by reception staff. Champagne and bowl of fruit left in apartment on my birthday (they got info from passport) - lovely touch, thank you! Didn't find airplanes passing overhead a problem, not that many to bother you. Fantastic breakfasts, great choice but didnt like lukewarm evening meals so after first night, we swapped the evening meal for lunch each day at pool cafe. Only negative about this hotel we can think of is the location. Few bars/restaurants within 10-15 min walk which was fine at night but missed being able to wander round shops etc during the afternoon, had to take bus into Los Christianos. If you are looking for quiet holiday in fabulous hotel, go here, really dont think you would be disappointed.
“Had a Fabulous Time”
oscydosk, Kingston-upon-Hull, Reino Unido
from a 7 night stay at the Golf Plaza we had a fabulous holiday, we got a really great deal through Travel Zoo and Miss Ellie's Travel. The food was good, lots of choice, and with freshly cooked omelettes and bacon cooked just the way you like it for breakfast we were very satisfied. You can even swap your evening meal for lunch at the pool bar, which we did a couple of times, the same free drinks and even a desert, if desired. We were with friends and had one bed apartments 141 and 142, enormous, fully fitted kitchen, we don't usually do apart/hotels but it was really handy to make hot drinks and a sandwich a couple of times, and to store cold drinks in the fridge. Our rooms overlooked the road, it was fine as it meant we got sun in the morning, but the rooms were cool in the afternoon and evening, the outlook was also attractive and not at all noisy, it was fun to watch the planes coming into land. The staff were all so friendly, reception were very informative, waiting staff always smiling and ready to share a joke, Hector, the animation team, was a treasure, we told him we were not participators but he still popped by every day for a chat, the room ladies always left everything immaculate, we got wine and fruit in both rooms when we arrived and my husband and I got a bottle of Champagne and more fruit on his birthday. We hired a car from Autoreisen at the Airport 113 euros for the week, with 2 drivers included, the hotel is bit out of the way so it was handy to get to Los Christianos and Las Americas. All in all a really great holiday and we would defintely return. Only 1 small complaint just wish it was nearer a beach, otherwise it was fabulous for a relaxing holiday.
tracegl , Londres, Reino Unido
We have just come back from a wonderful week at this hotel. The hotel is spotless and very comfortable, great big balcony overlooking the pool. I honestly do not know how anyone can complain about the hotel. The staff are very friendly and always helpful, always had a smile on their faces. Reception were especially helpful in suggesting places to visit in the car and we had some wonderful trips in the mountains. The food is buffet style and the food fresh and tasty. We had a deal with free drinks and that was fab, you could take your time and take drinks out to the terrace after dinner. Don't hesitate - book today you will not be disappointed! Me I can't wait to go back. We went to an Indian Hewilli in San Blas after reading reviews and it was the best ever. Service great and the food was wonderful.
“An excellent hotel”
ColinA_11, Portsmouth, Reino Unido
My wife and I have just returned from a week at this hotel and I have to say it was first class. The suite we had was spacious and nicely decorated/furnished. The maid kept the room spotless and the staff in the hotel generally were extremely polite and very helpful. The pool area is nice and when we stayed there were always sun beds available. The pool area is only one floor down from reception (and there is a lift) so everything is in a relatively compact area, unlike some hotels which are spread out over multiple levels leading to a beach. The food is definitely adequate (I put on 2 pounds in weight!) although the choices are fairly limited. However, when was the last time you stayed at a holiday hotel and got served Michelin starred food!? It never happens! If you get the chance, try to use the spa facilities as they are okay. In the Travel Zoo deal we had free use of the spa was included. In the close vicinity are a number of bars and restaurants some of which tried and found them to be very good. There is a coastal path that runs down by the marina which is nice for a stroll. We hired a car for three days from the car rental firm right next door to the hotel and it was quick, easy and reasonably priced at 85 Euros for the three days. Driving is easy and the roads are good (even most of the road leading up to the top of Mount Teide is pretty good). And petrol is so cheap: less than £1 per litre! If you book your trip through Travel Zoo don't opt for the transfers to be included; they were very late picking us up on the day we left. As the airport is so close to the resort it would be much easier to get a taxi; there are taxi ranks right outside the airport and the hotel. Transfer time is about 10 minutes! Don't worry about the noise from planes; you barely notice them. And there are very few late night or early morning flights. I would certainly recommend this hotel to a friend.
“Perfect for some peace and quiet”
jojobailey, London, UK
This is the second time I've been to Golf Plaza, both times I needed some time out relaxing, catching up on reading and getting a suntan. All achieved in the week. This place is perfect, the weather great, the accomodation basic, but excellent. Opted for self catering and the kitchen had everything needed. The one bed apartment was massive, cleaned 5 times a week, big balcony with a sea view. There's a good couple of places to eat within walking distance, a big supermarket up the road and shop next door. No fighting over sun loungers at any time and the spa next door was fabulous, highly recommend starting your holiday with a massage there. If you want some chill-out time, great weather and decent priced holiday, you can't go wrong here. I'll probably be back next year!

travelled 30th. april-6th may 2012 via miss ellies of manchester--advertised on the net with a series of upgrades for £299--for that price we had 1 bed apartment, flight from bristol with baggage, transfer in tenerife and half board plus (drinks with evening meal) it all seemed 2 good to be true but it wasnt--the hotel was spotless with attentive staff, the dining room was buffet style with choices to suit everyone--mostly mature couples during our stay and we never heard of a complaint(is that a first?)-one couple had severe sight problems but a member of staff was always on hand to get their food and drinks which was very respectful--the evening meal was from 7.30-10.00 and couples appearded to use the whole time slot to enjoy the free drinks on offer but it never seemed to be a problem or cause concern, it was all fairly laid back--this was off season and it could be different in the peak wks -- i shall be keeping an eye out for any offers for next march as i would like to return-- forgot to mention that the room was huge with seperate bedroom and a kitchen(kettle but no teapot) and having requested a pool view a bit tongue in cheek- bingo, we had one that overlooked the pool and had a sea view- we also had a wks pass for the spa next door all free--that was lovely as well there was a couple of local bars but a 15min walk to a more vibrant centre if thats your thing--2 euros from the bus stop outside takes you into las americas the hotel is only 10mins from the airport and it is in the flight path but no one we spoke to seemed to think it was problem--grab a bargain and go now, offers are still on
“A fantastic holiday”
nikki r, wakefield
I stayed here in March 2012 with my husband and 2 kids ages 7 and 5. We had a great stay in this hotel and were all really upset when we had to leave. The room was spacious and clean, we had a 1 bed apartment. The staff were really helpful and friendly. The children's entertainer, Hectar was amazing and made our holiday all the more special, the kids still talk about him now and are still dancing the mini disco routines. We really enjoyed the food too, something different every night and so lovely to have a week off planning meals and cooking. Plenty of sunbeds to relax on during the day. Great and cheap car hire shop in San Bias next to the perfume shop. Yes it's on the flight path but found myself turning into a plane spotter!! Didn't fly at night or I didn't wake up in the night because of them. The only compliant I have of this hotel is the dodgy shows they have on at night time. Well I say show,it's more like people bringing snakes in a box to the bar for you to have your photo taken with them. They tried to charge 20 euro's for the pleasure!! This hotel is great for families with young kids and we can't wait to go back next year.
“EXCELLENT HOLIDAY BASE”
aassor , Limerick, Irlanda
We stayed for a week in april 2012. Initially we were disappointed as the airconditioning was not turned on. However we did not need it as there was a constant wind blowing for the entire week we were there. This is not to say the weather was not good. It was beautiful. The hotel was excellent. It was clean and airy and the rooms we had were large and very well furnished etc. The hotel is situated close to the airport approach but as I like looking at planes I enjoyed this. The planes do not fly during night time hours. The hotel has a fab. leisure centre nearby. The food is pretty standard ang generally good. You will not be hungry leaving the dining room. We had a great room and balcony overlooking the pool and sea view. Overall, we would recommend the hotel to anyone.
“APARTAMENTO DE LUJO, AMABILIDAD DEL PERSONAL, BUENA SITUACIÓN. VOLVERIA”
MCSOLANAS , BARCELONA

although golf del sur is a small and quiet resort there are still plenty of bars and restaurants to visit. The golf plaza was fabulous. Fantastic 2 bed apartment, one room being on suite and had another bathroom for the other room. the one bed apartment my parents shared was huge. maids came 5 times out of the 7 nights and linen and towels changed 5 times also. I recommend this hotel which features day time activities and a bar with happy hour!!! Go try and you will not be disappointed.
“perfect chill time”
mikel1, bristol england
The rooms are huge and well equipped. Every part of the hotel is spotlessly clean. The pool area is large with plenty of sunbeds and a small but reasonable priced bar. There is no decent beach nearby and there is not a huge choice of bars and restaurants although there are some quite good ones in the area.We went half board plus and that meant we had drinks at mealtimes only and free access to the spa.The spa was great. This hotel is perfect for golfers, anyone who wants a quiet time relaxing round a pool or anyone looking for a reasonable priced good quality base to look around the south of the island.

My wife and I booked one week Self Cathering in this beautiful Hotel. The suite we stayed in was very large and had all mod cons. 5 star Suite The only negative the food is more expenstive to but in the local supermarket that eating out. It is worth paying €5 in a Taxi to go to the monster Supermarket on the outskirts or €2 on the bus. We will be returning soon

Just back from staying at this hotel from 24/1/2012 - 3/2/2012 it is the best hotel I have ever stayed in rooms huge. I had sent an email before we left requesting a corner suite Room 117 absolutely perfect overlooking the pool. We booked for bed & breakfast and were not disappointed there was a fantastic variety catering for every taste. The Irish pub across the road (Grandee O'Donnell) had a brilliant menu and made you very welcome. The Hotel was spotless clean towels everyday, the only sour note was that a black cardigan and jumpsuit went missing from our room it was only from Primark I didn't make a complaint as my husband thought maybe I had forgot to pack them. I have checked today and they are not here. I would certainly stay here again

I can not fault this hotel. I stayed with three friends, all ladies in 60 s for one week 13th Jan 2012. As I can not walk far and enjoy being at the pool I rang the hotel the day before we arrived to request a room near to the pool,we were allocated a ground floor apartment near the pool even though the hotel was full. The apartment was a corner one with a large lounge, the usual settee with removable cushions, but large in an L shape, table 4 chairs and television. Two large bedrooms one at each side of the lounge and a small basically equipped kitchen. There were three sets of french doors leading to a large terrace with a table and 4 chairs. There were high walls on each side of the terrace but we still had sun most of the day,Only criticism here was that there was no gate to the pool area we had to walk around to the door.Maid service was second to none, the sheets and towels were changed daily. We had one meal in the resturant which was the usual buffet fare, lots of choice, not piping hot, but for 16 euros each including bottle of wine and 4 courses?. The daily entertainment was available if required, staff were friendly but not pushy and the evening entertainment was child led animal shows. Happy hour 5 to 6pm in the small bar was good value with the best Sangria at 2 litres for 10 euros.Made before you by a very pleasant barman, in fact all the staff in the hotel were courteous and obliging. Value for money, we paid 330 euros for the apartment for a week for 4 people with Expedia, this hotel takes some beating.
“Best hotel i have stayed in”
This hotel is fantastic went 12-19 jan and just booked to go back bext week loved it that much , its reasonable priced due to location as the area is quiet but 1.50 euro for bus to los cristianos is nothing and only 5 mins , no need for transfees either as only 11 euro for taxi from airport, we are a young cuple 23 and 24 with 2 young children and found it fantastic entertainment threw out the day everyday for adults and children , we went self catering and the room was unbelivavle in size and apearance
“Excellent sunshine break!”
archieblob, Warrington, Reino Unido
Read all previous reviews, with some apprehension, off we went. Very impressed, upon arrival we were upgraded to a 1 bed apartment (only booked a studio) no extra cost! Apartment was massive! with good facilities and well equipped. Sadly there is no English TV except the usual news channels which get a bit boring. Pool and grounds spotlessly clean and pool has the chill taken off it, but there is a spa next door, with a pool like a warm bath. we got 2 x days free admittance, then you have to pay. Only tried the restaurant for breakfast on the last day, wasn't overly impressed, food quite cold and the toaster takes forever! There are plenty of nice restaurants to eat in the area, reasonably priced, plus O'Donnells Irish bar across the street, good food and drink and very welcoming. I would have not hesitation in staying in the area again and indeed at the Cordial Golf, spotless, friendly, and very obliging, really enjoyed our 10 nights there, and the weather for January was fabulous.

Volveremos seguro.

We stayed in September 2011 and loved it. As many of the reports say, dont go there if you want lively. But you can get a bus/taxi into Los Christianos for a day (we did that to swim in the sea) if you need to. But we really loved the Apart/hotel and would definitely go back. Met some lovely people there, within 15 minutes of relaxing on our sunbeds, fellow guests and the lovely entertainment guy had persuaded us (not pushed!) into playing a game. Plenty of sunbeds and lovely pool. Such a comfortable place - wish we had stayed longer. Only ate in the restaurant for breakfast the day we were leaving - ok - but we do like eating out in different restaurants and found the wonderful Rendevous Restaurant just down the road. We enjoy walking and the coastal path was delightful and relaxing. The apartment itself was lovely, we overlooked the road, but it was very cool, as opposed to the guests overlooking the pool - it was extremely hot while we were there. Walked to Los Abrigos, so pretty, but it was too hot to eat lunchtime, although we had a few beers there before the walk back. But everyone recommended the amazing fish restaurants there. All staff at hotel from reception to cleaners very happy and helpful. Bed changed frequently and soo comfortable.

“Excellent week at the Golf Plaza”
We stayed at the Golf Plaza for a week from 4 October and enjoyed a relaxing break in a quiet yet very pleasant resort. Can't argue with any of the recent reviews which I read on tripadvisor and was pleasantly surprised by what we found, I believe they must have improved over the last six months or so as the ratings here are very good of late and deservedly so. Our favourite bits included the food which was of a far superior than many buffet style restaurants, plenty of choice and excellent quality, the staff from the waiters and chefs to the cleaning staff obviously take pride in their work. The half board plus option was most worthwhile (sorry if we took advantage of the self service beverage system!) We transferred from dinner to lunch once without any problems whatsoever, although the food did seem a little disappointing compared with the outstanding meals we had previously enjoyed. After requesting a pool view at check in we were disappointed to be told by the pleasant chap on reception there were none available and were given a room at the corner of the complex by the road. It was enormous and the balcony was even more impressive. Despite being by the roadside we had no issues with traffic, people or aircraft. The odd scraping chair was the only annoyance. The furniture and bedding were a little depressing too but but the beds both in the bedroom and living area were comfortable enough. The entertainment was average, or so i thought whilst watching the parrot fix his car on the bird show (sorry if that spoils it for anyone!). My girlfriend obviously thought otherwise as we are now the proud owners of an 11 week old cockatiel..... Max, the animation 'team', was a happy soul though and he tried really hard to get people involved. I played bingo for the first time in my life there! We went to El Modano for a quick look around and was so impressed we went back a couple of days later. Water sports of all descriptions going on although we preferred to watch from a distance in a tapas bar (can't remember the name but it's a blue terrace from outside with a coke sign above the door to the rear) which overlooked the cove, again excellent food. It costs 1euro 35 each to get here and takes about 10 minutes on the bus (10 euros in a taxi). The best bar in Golf by far was Volare with brilliant cabaret acts for soul and motown fans, which last for about an hour from 11pm but the compere can be a bit tiresome and the evening concludes with good old karaoke, although they weren't too bad when we were there - the performers were all either staff or related to them! This was the only place we found that stayed open till 1am. We had a superb meal at Mama Roma's about 10 minutes walk down the road. A really nicely designed restaurant with friendly and attentive staff and not over expensive. You could also find a couple of bars offering 1euro pints up till 6pm in the same area - the Aberdeen Steak House did the trick for us as we needed to stop off somewhere in 38 degree heat on the way to San Blas which is a 30 minute walk from the hotel. The Irish bars were ok but look out for Sundowners round the back of the Green Park apartments (only because of the Stella 4 at 2 euros....). The Atlantis spa was also a nice way to spend an afternoon if you've been overdoing the sunbathing in the pleasant pool area, we enjoyed the free sensations circuit which you must take in the first 2 days of your stay. The only minor disappointments were that the staff seemed rushed off their feet, restaurant staff doubling up as bar staff, one of which really didn't seem to be enjoying himself too much. This probably contributed to the lack of atmosphere in the hotel bar for the entertainment. Samantha (originally from Bolton) seemed happy in her work though! Oh, and don't buy a watch from the chap in the foyer who won't let you touch them. I think they only work in Tenerife and the straps fall off immediately after he's packed up and cleared off! This is not the hotel's fault though. All in all a thoroughly enjoyable break and are considering returning although it's not something we do.

“lovely hotel great food poor location”
su p , buckley flintshire
hi spent two great weeks here 9th to 23rd september.the hotel is great. The rooms are nice and big and very clean.the food was fantastic. There was a good variety each night ,even things for my 14year old daughter who can be very fussy. The pool was great and we never had a problem getting a sun bed, this may be because of the time we went. The planes never bothered us even though they were very close.Would recommend the spa ,you get to use it for free on 1st day of arrival. The down side is the area.Even though we knew it was a quiet area we thought we could have gone for a walk in the evening along the sea front but there wasnt a walkway like we expected. The beach was also a let down ,very rocky and a bit of a rubbish tip.We hired a car for the 2 weeks so location of hotel for us was not too bad, however if we never had a car it would have been pretty boring.Would recommend loro park and siam park as they are great days out.
I booked to stay at this hotel for my mum's birthday weekend, it was really cheap and we didn't know what to expect. When we arrived at 5pm we were very pleasantly surprised, reception staff were very friendly and helpful. When we got down to our room we couldn't believe how big it was with a lovely balcony! we ran straight to the pool to catch the last couple of hours of sun! there is a massive pool and a little baby pool, lots and lots of sun beds and some on a separate part away from the pool. There is a small supermarket and bus stop just outside the hotel, also a taxi rank! if you walk for about 10mins you will find a small selection of restaurants keep going and you will eventually get to San Blas (a taxi is only 4euro's) where there are many different restaurants and a few shops (quite British though). One night we decided to get a taxi to Los Cristianos - that was 20euro's each way but worth it for the beach, massive choice in restaurants and lots of shops! During the stay we were self catering but we did decide to get breakfast at the hotel one morning, for 2adults and 1 child it was 18euro's which was definitely worth it just for the hot chocolates alone, it was an unlimited buffet with all the breakfast stuff you could possibly imagine (next time we stay we will definitely go inclusive as the food is brilliant and we definitely will be going again!). We didn't have time to go and explore the spa but you get a list of treatments in your room, there is also a gym and indoor pool. Before going I read a couple of complaints about the planes being noisy....yes they were quite loud but it caused great entertainment at guessing which company was going over :) over night there are a few that go over but we all noticed that once we were asleep none woke us up (and I'm a very light sleeper) so that did not put us off at all! All in all we had the most fantastic time and will most definitely be going back again! excellent value for money as well and nice and close to the airport so no need to worry about long transfers! definitely recommend! :)
“Fantastic place - recommended!”

Brilliant hotel for a family holiday! We stayed for a fortnight from 23 August and enjoyed every minute. Our initial scepticism about the size of the apartments (highlighted in many previous reviews) was immediately blown-away upon opening the door (room 128). The space was enormous! They even don't scrimp on the size of balcony, which was more than generous, and in our case looked out over the excellent pool complex and beyond to the sea and marina. Whilst passing aeroplanes are a feature of this hotel, we were not troubled by them and in fact remained a constant source of stimulation for the kids as they passed overhead! Perhaps it's worth noting that the airport is only a short distance away, so it really is not worth booking a transfer with your holiday. With a taxi costing 15 Euros from outside the airport, you'll be quids-in from the outset! We weren't very good at lying still next to the pool (although the kids particularly loved this facility) and took a number of bus trips to explore the South Tenerife region. The bus stop is a few steps down the road and you can get a timetable from Reception. The bus drivers all expect you to be travelling the well-worn route to either Los Cristianos or Playa de las Americas, but we found it more worthwhile heading in the other direction down the coast. This is where you'll find the Spanish going and they keep the best resorts to themselves! You'll find El Medina a particularly pleasant fishing village with Saturday market, interesting shops, good beaches and even a volcano cone to climb for beautiful views of the coast. Whether you choose to take the bus this way or to the more commercialised centres in the other direction, it is far better to take the 483 rather than the 470 as it is more direct, quicker and cheaper! Golf del Sur is a lovely place to stay and is worth a walk or two to get to know the locality. For shops you would either stroll the half a mile (ish) to San Blas, which has a supermarket and selection of restaurants and boutiques. However, it is far nicer to take the coastal promenade to Sans Blas (coming out behind the Hotel Vincci) as the Atlantic waves can provide an awesome display against the rocks. A little further on (on Tuesday evening) you can visit the very small night market in the neighbouring village of Los Abrigos. You can pick up the start of this coastal path from the other side of the Agua Marina Apartments. By the way, its well worth taking this same coastal path in the other direction from the other side of the marina towards Costa del Silencio (complete with another mini volcano!) For big shops where food is much cheaper, head out of the resort on the main road (past the Tourist Information Centre) to La Chifaras, where there are a couple of large supermarkets (inc. a Lidl and Iceland!!). If you choose to walk, it will take about 40 mins one-way - but beware, the shops are not open on a Sunday (at least not when we tried!) We found the food at the Golf Plaza was very good, with an excellent range to choose from each day. Admittedly, the buffet did get a little repetitive by the second week - particularly the breakfast - but this didn't spoil the experience. We went half-board plus, which included evening drinks (red/white wine, sangria or lager + fizz/water for the kids) and were an added bonus! Crossing the corridor to the Entertainment after dinner was often a less productive experience, since the shows were more "Butlins" than Broadway, however the kids enjoyed them. The children will not have early nights at this hotel as dinner doesn't open until 19.30 and the evening entertainment 21.30-22.00. We did spend some days by the pool and found the complex spotlessly clean (as with the whole of the hotel). There wasn't normally any difficulty finding a sunbed amongst those that had been reserved by virtue of a beach towel and the kids enjoyed playing in both the small and larger pools with a number of friends that they had made. Staff were helpful and courteous, contributing to a friendly atmosphere. The offer of a free courtesy room for those whose flights are late in the day to enable showering / changing is a feature of the efforts that are extended to guests to ensure their stay is pleasant. All in all, the Golf Plaza is a fabulous place with amazing apartments and located in a lovely resort. We don't generally return to the same place twice, but our experience over the fortnight may lead us to reconsider this policy. Enjoy yourselves... we did!
“Nice clean hotel, quiet area”
mise56 , Inverness
Stayed here 6th - 16th September: Lovely clean hotel with big rooms, huge in fact. The kitchen has no microwave would be my only gripe really. The apartment is cleaned daily with clean towels daily. Pool towels are available at reception daily for a 10 euro charge per towel which is refunded on the day of departure. There is no iron in the apartment either but can be hired. We had a huge bedroom, lounge and dining room, full bathroom with bath and shower, bidet, and a kitchen, even the hall area was big! We were self catering so didn't use the 2 ring hob. The balcony was big as well with a table to fit 6 people with room to spare. I did notice though that not all the balconies were this big. We were in room 117, which I believe is one of the better located apartments with a view of both the pool and the sea. There is air conditioning in the apartments. Although the planes come in low above the hotel you end up not really noticing them, in fact there are very few night flights but we weren't really hearing them and they certainly weren't keeping us awake. The rooms must be well insulated. Down at the pool they weren't a distraction and it became quite inteesting to see who the busiest operator was. We found the staff really helpful and friendly. The cleaning staff were always very pleasant as were the reception staff, really friendly and approachable. On our last night our toilet cistern broke, and within 5 minutes of telling reception there was a knock at the door and the handyman had it repaired and cleaned up within 15 minutes. The pool area is large and clean. For the first few days of our 10 day holiday we had a problem getting sunbeds and did have to start booking them, but then the hotel emptied and Spanish families moved in and there were plenty beds, in fact too many so they took them away to get cleaned. We didn't use the large restaurant, but we did get takeaway paella from the bar/cafe in the reception area and it was really good, and lots of it. The staff in there are really friendly too. This is a quiet hotel in a quiet area. We ate up athe commercial centre in San Blas a few times and at another 2 restaurants down at the seafront, about 10 minutes away. You can walk to San Blas but a taxi only costs 4 euros. There is a bus stop otside the hotel to take you to Los Cristianos for 2 euro. There is also a taxi rank on your doorstep. There are 3 computers in the lobby area for use at 1 euro for 30 minutes or you can take your own laptop to the lobby area for the same rate. We were there at the invitation of BIC Leisure and be under no illusion that the prime reason you are there is too undergo a presentation to buy Diversity Points. I have to say though that after that we weren't bothered by any rep. Although the offer was for 7 nights, we actually booked another 3 nights for £50 per night, well worth it. Nice clean hotel in a quiet area.

Me and my boyfriend moved to this hotel from another one down the road. This made our holiday it was lovely. The staff are friendly, the hotel is really clean, the pool is lovely, the food is brilliant both buffet and the pub at the front of the hotel. Would book it again for next year :)
“Best hotel ive stayed in by far in Tenerife!”
I stayed at this hotel with my mother from Sept 4 th to 11 th. We were looking for a quiet relaxing holiday and the golf plaza provides just that. Beautiful spotlessly clean hotel with large rooms and access to the roomy balcony from both the lounge and bedroom. All the staff we encountered from reception, cleaning, restaurant and cafe next door were very helpful and friendly. My mother had been meaning to ask for an extra pillow and slept one night with a blanket under her head along with the pillow, the cleaning lady must have realised because she arrived back at the room shortly after cleaning with the extra pillow without having to be asked..... Its the small things like that that make a good hotel. The safe costs 2 euro per day to rent and you can pay 25 euro for a 18.00 check out if you have a late flight. Taxis to and from the hotel and airport cost 20 and 15 euro respectively. The only negative about this hotel I would say is the restaurant food... If not all inclusive I wouldnt recommend it. The caddyshack up the road do an excellent breakast for around 4 euro and Grandee O Donells adjacent to that do an excellent choice of basketed dinners for 6 euro. The small cafe downstairs I would also recommend for a takeaway hot baguette for three euro and very friendly staff. Overall an excellent peaceful relaxing holiday, top notch hotel and we will return....

We stayed here for 2 weeks from the 28/8/11 to 11/9/11 it was great, the rooms were very large air conditioned and with all the great facilities plus kitichen , The cleaners did a fantastic job, The pool area was great for kids we met lots of nice people, The restaurant was very good with lots of diffrent foods each night we went half board plus so got drinks with dinner, The hotel is a great to go and chill out do not go here if you want loads of night life hotel. Would go back tommorrow if we could.Julie does a great job with the kids and my daughter loved her

We stayed for 11 nights and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. The two bedroomed apartment was immaculate and extremely spacious. All the staff were friendly and polite. The apartment was cleaned daily to a high standard. The food was plentiful and offered a good choice. We stayed half board and twice changed from evening meal to a lunch so we could eat out in the evening. The landing aircraft seem close at first, however, our sons enjoyed the experience. Watch out for the Haribo plane on a Thursday! The noise is a little obtrusive, expecially on a Tuesday and Friday but it is not a problem during the night. The area is pleasantly quiet and not in your face. We payed several visits to Grandee O'Donnell's Irish bar a little further up the road. The beer and food is good. The bar in Winter Gardens (Bowling Green) is also great for a snack. We ate at Plaze Breeze in the San Blas area (approx 1km) and enjoyed 2 cocktails for 6E. My only gripe - having to reserve the sunbeds! Something the hotel management need to sort out.
“This is one of the best hotels”
Radwo , Nottingham
For my family of 5 ( kids 8, 7 and 6 months) it was the best holiday ever. Hotel is spotless , staff friendly, plenty of space everywhere. Apartments are massive and beautifully presented . We have stayed in room 128 with very nice balcony and superb view. Food is really nice . We found grilled food really attractive and tasty, especially fish.We had really fabulous time in Cordial Golf Plaza and we will be back as soon as possible. We loved quiet Golf Del Sur ( except landing planes , but we get used to them after couple of hours and planes were not really an issue for us ) , views from the balcony, quality of service in the hotel . I would say that car is essential if you would like to go to the beach or busy towns . Rent a car is not very expensive. I recommend autoreisen. They have very good prices with no hidden cost of insurances or fuel , car seats free of charge.
We stayed in this hotel in march and had a standard one bedroom apartment which we thought was great. This time we booked the honeymoon suite and it was amazing. It had its own lounge its own dining room a huge spacious bedroom with four post bed. The balcony was something else big is sayin something and the jacussi just topped it of. We didn't use any of the facility's because we didn't need to. We had a car for the week and got around the whole island. I've been to tenerife about 10 times and this is by far the best hotel I've stayed in. Were goin back next year and can't wait

Just spent 10 days half board at the Golf Plaza with my husband and two sons aged 6 and 9.We had a one bedroomed apartment which was very spacious, cleaned every day and had a huge balcony. The sofa beds for the boys were virtually single bed sized and very comfortable. The hotel has a very laid back atmosphere, the staff are all very pleasent and eager to help and when we couldn't open the safe in our room they immediately sent someone up to sort it out. The food was great, lots of it, a great variety (maybe not so good for vegetarians) there was always room in the dinning room never any waiting for a free table and the staff in here were extremely friendly. The pool area was also cleaned every day even the cleaners seemed to take pride in their work! Lots of sun beds and parasols but be prepared to get up early if you want to get a sun bed. My husband used to go down at 7am to put our towels out and even then most of the beds were taken. I see this however as no fault of the hotel just down to" the English abroad" At least we used our sun beds, some people would put there towels out and not use them for most of the day! There is a girl who runs the mini club during the day running activities - mask making, ping pong, and games etc as well as water polo games for the adults. She is firm with the kids and they all seemed to like her. She also runs the karioke and a few quizes etc in the bar in the evening. We only watched one of the shows in the evening a snake show which wasn't brilliant but the kids loved it. It didn't start until 10.30 though which i did think was a little late. The resort of Golf del sur was very small, no real shops to speak of , a few small supermarkets,( the one attached to the hotel does bake it's own bread and croissants) There is no real beach to speak of. The couple of small beaches that are there are very pebbley and not the sort you can lie on all day. We did catch the bus into Los Cristianos to spend the day on the beach and having spent the day in this large quite dirty town where we seemed to hear sirens all day I really appreciated our small resort when we got back. Youngsters looking for a lively time would hate it here but, for a family like mine it was just the ticket! We were also given a free treatment each in the adjoining spa to use in our first two days which we didn't actually use as we were still settling in a bit then. This would have been better if we could have used it at any time during our stay . Overall I would say we had fab holiday and cannot recommend the Golf Plaza hotel highly enough.

“Top choice for a holiday”
Paul F , Birmingham, Reino Unido
Just got back and can honestly say that everything was first class. We went self catering but ended up eating out as there were so many good quality restaurants within walking distance and it was comparatively cheap. The place was spotless (apartment cleaned every day) and the apartment a good size, the grounds very well maintained, we used the spa 3 times (first visit was free) and stayed in all afternoon. Good supermarket in San Blass where alcohol prices were much cheaper then duty free. The bus stop is right outside the door and we got good deals for the parks at the marina - Siam park is a top water park and rivals anything in Florida. Didn't use the pool much as we had good balconies but we did go in at night - the pool doesn't really have a closing time. We went to relav and it really did the job.
“Very, good value for money, TOP HOTEL and STAFF !”
Julie L , Brighton, Reino Unido
Just to start by saying that this holiday was my wifes idea, for a quick, cheap week in the sun we normaly go to 5 star £3000+ a week hotel, so i was not expecting much from the Cordial Golf Plaza, We stayed in a 1 bed apartment self catering on the ground floor, with our 15 year old daughter sleeping on the "put you up" sofa bed, the appartment was huge! We did not have 1 moan from our daughter, (unusual for a teenager), she slept like a log, very comfortable bed, our bed was also very nice, clean rooms, all you bits and bobs you need. The maid service was good, towels everyday etc, We went for breakfast/evening meal with drinks, there is NO all inclusive option, which is great because the client base was family and couples,,,,,nice :-) Food is very good, choice ok, you always found something to eat, and plenty of it! You will not loose wieght with this hotel,! There was a little issue when we arrived with the "sun bed and umbrella wars", however the next day the hotel managment put out lots of extra sunbeds and the maintance team fitted/bolted 15+ extra umbrellas around the pool, everybody got a sunbed and shade ! Will done HOTEL 100% correct thing to do. Now i have praised the hotel , now the not so good things, The evening entertainment, started late and was not of the best, in fact not good, very sad effort, better not to have any entertainment, please dont expect the "Las Vegas Experiance" more 1970's Blackpool,, I would be nice to have a microwave in the kitchen, and coffee/tea mugs larger, You do get planes coming over the hotel, they do not start early and they finish before 11pm, we liked the fact the they came over, not that low (you cannot see faces in the window, low) but they are there,,,,roughly every 40 minutes. I gave us something to watch (better than the hotels entertainment, He He) The planes did not spoil the holiday in anyway, infact we felt it made it a little better. If you want a good, clean, nice food, helpfull staff hotel, this is a it I was very suprised, well done Cordial Golf Plaza!
“Great Hotel, great holiday.”
mum84 , devon
Have just returned from Golf Plaza after a weeks stay with hubby and 2 teenagers, Hotel is very clean and rooms spacious and airy. We had a 1 bed apt kids slept fine in lounge area which had 2 single size beds which were sofas in the day time. Small but adequate kitchen. We were on half board basis and found the food very good, lots of choice and always something different, great selection of salads, cold meats fruits etc. Breakfast buffet was excellent fresh croissents and lovely coffee. Drinks for evening meals choice of red/white wine or beer or Sangria which was lovely and it's as much as you can drink! Only downside was location not much to do in the evenings, regular bus service into Los Cristionas and Siam Waterpark very easy to get to from hotel which was a good but expensive day out. All in all a great hotel perfect for a relaxing holiday around the pool, but don't forget to put your towels out early to get a lounger and parasol something we found out after not getting one the first morning, up around 6ish from then on to run down to get towels on loungers then back to bed for a couple of hours! Would be happy to return.
“Beautiful hotel, location let's it down”
We stayed in this hotel for two weeks in July 2011. The hotel is amazing, spotlessly clean and the staff cannot do enough to help. We were self catering and used the dinner buffet once which wasn't brilliant but was edible. The rooms are huge with plenty of clothes storage and were cleaned every day. We had a fantastic view of the Marina, Atlantic and pools from our 2nd floor apartment. We were a large family who shared 2 rooms however we did not realise there were apartments that had 2 double rooms that were absolutely huge. The location of the hotel is the only real issue, it is a really quiet area with a few bars and restaurants a good 10 minutes walk away. I would recommend the bistro restaurant and we ate out at Zaccary's on 5 occasions the entertainment was great and food very good for a reasonable price. There is no decent local beach and the bus to loro and siam parks only operates on tuesday and thursdays. The entertainment for the hotel was poor it is repeated weekly and consisted of a parrot show, snake show, guitar player, eagle show, karaoke and very poor oriental singer who was awful. The acts spent more time touting for photos than doing the act they started around 10.30 and were done by 11.10. It was full of spanish at the weekend, they turn up at 10.30 leave at 11.10 and on many occasions we were the only people in the room. They have one entertainment person who has 2 days off a week and is a bit stern with the kids and most of the time cannot be bothered. The hotel is amazing for couples however if you are a family looking for entertainment for the kids during the day and night do not bother
“Loved it!! Extremely clean, friendly and spacious - we shall go back!”
fussychooser , England
My 18 year old daughter and I booked a last minute short break and were so pleased with our selection. The staff were very efficient and helpful – we were in our room within 10 mins of arriving at reception. The rooms were very spacious, clean and well equipped. We had a ground floor room with a large patio area. The hotel was peaceful and the public areas were kept very clean and tidy. The pool was lovely! There were plenty of sun beds and although we didn’t use it, there was a free pool towel service (a refundable deposit of 10 euros meant that you had a fresh towel each day). The pool bar cooked fresh food to order and was reasonably priced. There were daily activities in and around the pool area – but no pressure to take part. We stayed on a self catering basis and found the supermarket directly next to the hotel to be fairly priced and well stocked and we liked the 10% discount that was offered on your first shop, if you were a resident at the hotel. The cafe/bar to the other side of the hotel was also well priced and the food was cooked fresh to order. We found an excellent Spanish restaurant overlooking the sea about a 10min walk away, San Marina II - well worth a visit and well worth the 10 min walk – they had an extensive authentic menu with nightly 3 course meals for 7 euros. (keep your eyes open for the short cut down through some waste land - it doesn’t look like a path – but it is – just follow the signs). We walked into San Blas for the evening entertainment and as two women alone, felt completely safe walking back late in the evening. If you didn’t want to leave the hotel, there was nightly entertainment to suit all ages, available in the function room. With a bus stop almost directly outside the front of the hotel, we took the 20 minute bus journey to Los Cristianos, cost 4 euros each – well worth a day trip. We would thoroughly recommend this hotel for a ‘get away from it all’ break. If you want the buzzing night life and all that comes with it – this isn’t the place for you. Now, just to mention that as the airport isn’t too far away, obviously you do see and hear the planes – but this wasn’t a problem to us at all. We had read some of the reviews referring to the planes and are so pleased that we didn’t let them put us off. The noise was not intrusive and not constant. We had a great holiday here and would not hesitate to recommend this hotel – we would go back there tomorrow!!
“Lovely clean friendly hotel and really nice resort. Brilliant holiday!”
The hotel rooms were a really nice size clean and modern. The pool area was great with a nice clean pool and plenty of sun beds. The food was good as well but it was worth while visiting the local restaurants. The nightlife in this resort was quite sedate but there were plenty of restaurants and bars to choose from. The resort was ideal for a relaxing break and would also be great for families. We also got to use the spa next door to the hotel for free on one day which was lovely.I couldn't recommend this hotel highly enough.

Stayed in golf plaza 9-16th July, 2adults & 2 kids (10 & 3) Checked in at 1130am wasn't a problem even tho we were early. Rooms were spotless, very big, lots of wardrobe space, free safe, great aircon at your own control. Kitchen well equipped, we were full board so didn't cook, made tea/coffee & used fridge. Huge balcony with a clothes horse, furniture. Room 233 views of ocean, sun from 12 noon till sunset. Pool towels can b got from reception & at deposite of €10, I didn't no this & took are own. Pool area was lovely no probs getting loungers at anytime of the morning. Pool water is fresh water no stinging eyes. Ideal for families/kids, looking quiet location. Bars/restaurants walking distance, tho taxi rank 2mins walk away. Local small supermarkets close by bit pricey, but the mercadonia short taxi ride away, better variety, cheaper. Food in hotel is nice always found something nice for eve dinner, lunch was ok, & breakfast very good. Staff very friendly. Wifi in lobby area 1 hour = €2 or there's rates for 3day or 7day I just paid per hour. Entertainment at nite good as before for families/kids. I got full house at bingo & won bottle champs. We will defo return & didn't find any faults & have stayed in Los christianos before & wood prefer this area & hotel.
“Excelente trato y profesionalidad”

“Fantastic Holiday - One of the best!!!”
Claire0713, Reading, Reino Unido
We just got back this morning from a 1week holiday to Golf Plaza Tenerife. We only booked 2 days before we flew and found this hotel on the internet. Well, it was the best hotel we have ever stayed in! The rooms were very spacious (kids said they were bigger than our house in England!) fully equipped and very clean. Had all utensils required. We stayed Full Board with drinks. The food was varied each day - even the children who are very fussy found something to eat every day! The pool was big and sunbeds available with parasols. The girls loved the staff and couldn't wait to see them in the restaurant each day to say 'Ola' We had a walk down to the harbour a couple of times and along the seafront. Its a very relaxed and quiet area which suited us perfectly. We will definately be going back next year!! Thank you to all the staff who made the holiday great for us and the girls!
“Brilliant place, good value, super clean, would definitely go back!!”

If you're looking for a quiet place where you can relax around the pool, cook your own meals or use the hotel restaurant, look no further! We got a brilliant mini-flat (bigger than mine in Paris!!), including a huge bedroom with comfortable beds, an amazing bathroom (modern and clean, great power shower), a fully equipped kitchen and a nice living-room with sofas and a TV. We also had a huge terrace with a table and 4 chairs. Once again, the best bit about the place is how quiet it is. The staff are lovely and very helpful. Nice swimming pool with sun loungers and a great bar. Now, you have to know a few things that might make you change your mind: 1-You need to drive top find a lively bar/pub/area 2-The South Airport is 5k away, which means you'll see and hear planes flying by all day. This was not a problem for us since we were out most days visiting the island. I was so happy to go back to a safe, clean place at the end of each day, knowing that I would get a good rest. The flats are cleaned every single day. I almost forgot: Visit the Spa (a 4 minute walk away). They have special offers for hotel guests. A nice treat! I would really recommend this place, can't wait to go back actually!

Came back this morning and thought I should let you know that we had an excellent stay in the Golf Plaza. The hotel rooms were massive and very clean. There was daily competitions and activities run for the children like darts, pool, table-tennis, water polo etc. The pool was a good size for the number of guests and also adequate sun loungers for all. There was a variety of food for everyone and going all inclusive was a great choice as the drinks were a decent size and not watered down. Entertainment in the evening was good for the children and for the adults to get involved too. If you are looking for a mad nightlife this is not the place for you but great for families. I must say a big thanks to Grace for entertaining the kids day and night she was brilliant shame I thought her name was Marcia and called it for majority of the holiday! Hotel is situated about 20 minutes from Los Christianos in a taxi and the local bus will take you about 40 minutes, in a taxi it costs about 15/20 Euro's by bus it cost 10 Euro's for a family of four. All in all we really enjoyed our stay the staff were really nice and always helpful, hotel was very clean and there was plenty of choice when it came to food!
“amazing hotel !”
I arrived back in England on Monday and I’m missing it already! Everything about the hotel was excellent The staff, food, room, reception area, pool area, reastrunt its self etc we arrived at the hotel at about 9:30 dinner closes at 9:15 but the hotel had kept it open for us and one other family on are plane. We put are bags in a room behind reception and went to eat dinner. We then checked in and went up to are apartment where we discovered we had a two bedroom apartment but we booked a two bedroom and two sofa pull outs this was a good thing (and after speaking to another family we found out that this had happened a thew other families) The room had a kitchen, 2 bedrooms, a en suite (with bath shower and toilet) and 1 bathroom (shower and toilet). The rooms were very very clean and spacious. The pool area is amazing with a massive pool .It was divided by a wooden bridge and one side was heated and the other very cold! There was plenty of sun loungers which you didn’t need to reserve as you were garrunted to get one. The reastrunt was excellent with a wide range of food at every meal inc fruit and a wide range of deserts. The reastrunt staff were nice helpful and polite (especially enriko the waiter and barman who was really helpful and great with the kids). The other staff across the hotel were excellent they would do the best to help you. The kids mini disco organised by the animation lady were excellent for the young kids but we have teenagers so we tend to avoid that until the shows started which were good (apart from Monday nights one)the pool bar was also very good .The hotel is on a flight path but you can barely notice them once you’re in that hot sun. I would definitely go back to this hotel and has already recommended to a friend who has now booked a holiday to this hotel.

Have just returned from a 2 nights stay in Golf Plaza Spa resort on the Gul del Sur, had a huge spotlessly clean apartment with a 2 balconies, one with a sea view. Could find absolutely nothing to fault the hotel and the apartment was definitely the best we have ever stayed in. There was maid service everyday with clean towels and sheets. the kitchen was well equipped ...toaster,oven and plenty of dishes, glasses and utensils. The pool area was immaculate with plenty of cushioned sun beds, two pools one heated plenty enough to swim comfortably in, and one freezing cold. There was a snack bar by the pool selling reasonably priced drinks and great snacks. We were half board and we were extremely pleased with the breakfasts and the dinners on both days. Staff were all very friendly and helpful always greeted with a cheery " Ola" Our only complaint was there was no free WiFi available in this hotel. Best thing was the peace and quiet......not great if you are looking for tonnes of entertainment, but if you just want to relax and read a book without being disturbed its the best!!
“Perfect Hotel in Poor Location”
lukesow , Belfast, Reino Unido
Hotel is absolutely perfect. Clean, spacious, friendly and maids are excellent. I stayed here with my girlfriend for 2 weeks and I would go back again only for the location. The location is very quiet although there are approx 6-7 restaurants nearby which are nice. We are from Northern Ireland. Air con works well and much needed in this heat. For Food Go to - 1- Volcanic Islands 2- The Chinese 3- Little Britain - Good English Pub Grub Stay well away from the Itallian Restaurant. Obnoxious and rude and the food was stinking. This is the first itallian restaurant not the second. the second was okay. The hotel pool is superb with one side of the pool heated and the far side was not which give a nice variety. Staff were very helpful. On arrival at 12 midnight we were placed on the ground floor and as a young couple on our first holiday together we wanted moved. We went to reception and they told us to return at 9pm in the morning. after a sleepless night we upgraded to a 1 bedroom apartment with a pool and sea view on the 3rd floor. the view was breath taking. The bus to las americas was cheap. 2-3 euro each way. Only downside is your latest return journey was about half 10 so you couldn't stay for drinks unless you wanted to pay 25 euro for a taxi. Go to Siam Park and Loro Parque. Once in a lifetime opportunity to see killer whales. Best water park in the world without a doubt. Weather was 40oC every day practically but we went in July approaching August. Hotel entertainment was very poor. Although I did actually win bingo one night and was awarded with a free bottle of champaign. Hope this helps. A lot of snobs stay at this hotel but it is not all doom and gloom.
“You are made to feel valued in this hotel.”
LindfieldRoamer , Haywards Heath, Reino Unido
All the staff from reception, restaurant, and cleaners gave the impression of a happy, well run team. All of the hotel including the rooms were kept spotlessly clean. We stayed on a half board basis and had a full breakfast each morning and lots of choice for our evening meal - all the meals were deliciously cooked. The hotel is in a quiet location and not for lovers of a lively nightlife (as in Los Cristianos). Anyone who likes to watch English TV programmes in their room will be disappointed as you can only get boring Spanish programmes and BBC world news. However, if you do want to watch a Premier League match there are nearby bars that screen the games.

Have just returned from a weeks stay in Golf Plaza Spa resort on the Gul del Sur, had a large spotlessly clean apartment with a balcony which had a sea view. Could find absolutely nothing to fault the complex apart from a weird temperature fluctuating shower. There was maid service everyday with clean towels and sheets. the kitchen was well equipped ...toaster, kettle ( a must for every English person abroad!!!! ), oven and plenty of dishes, glasses and utensils. The pool area was emaculate with plenty of cushioned sun beds, two pools one heated plenty enough to swim comfortably in, and one freezing cold. There was a snack bar by the pool selling reasonably priced drinks and snacks. We were self catering and didn't sample the food in the main resturant although it did look qute appealing....certainly didn't hear any complaints........if you do go self catering can still have a buffet breakfast for 5 euros 50, and dinner for 13 euros. Staff were all very friendly and helpful always greeted with a cheery " Ola" Best thing was the peace and quiet......not great if you are looking for tonnes of entertainment, but if you just want to relax and read a book without being disturbed without being disturbed its fantastic

Stayed here for a long weekend in Feb and very happy with the choice. The hotel itself is clean and spacious, I stayed in a studio apartment which had a nice big room with a small kitchen containing all the basic cooking utensils you would need, plus a fridge and toaster. The studio apartments are all located on the ground floor looking out on to the road so never got a chance to use the ouside patio area. The breakfast was superb and every possible breakfast food you could think of was included. The pool area is nice and is very sheltered from the wind, the pool itself was pretty cold though. Golf Del Sur is a pretty quiet area so I would definately recommend hiring a car if you are staying at this hotel so you can make the short drive to Los Christianos to eat out at night and go to the beaches.
“Lovely quiet location, huge apartments, with friendly staff.”

just returned from 11 days here on Feb 4, having had super weather 29 degrees and sunny most days, which is rare in the winter! We were a family of 4 with grown daughters so was delighted to have a huge apartment where the sofa beds were like single beds and comfy for them to use. Our sunny balcony was 18ft x 6ft wide with great views of the pool and sea definitely the best in the hotel... so ask for room 128 if you can. No problem with early 11 am arrival and room was ready, one of the 3 pools was heated so that was a treat and given a freee family pass to the spa which was great too. we stayed on HB basis and ate in the restaurant every evening as we found the staff friendly and the food plentifull, a good variety and quality, with the chef cooking different meats daily to order. plenty of different salads, along with fish, even linguistines and muscles, and tune steaks. breakfast was great too with chef cooking eggs or omlettes to order along with the usual english/irish breakfast foods. They had cereals, and bowls of dates and other dried fruits along with pastries, salads, cheeses and fruit and yogurt so no complaints at all about the food. Reception had a shop to hire bikes or arange tours which were very helpfull and local bus stop outside the hospital. The resort is very quiet which is why we chose it, but a quick trip into Los christianos by bus or taxi (15 euro) meant you could find night ;life if you wanted. Would really reccommend this hotel especially for the heated pool and the large fully equipped apartments.
“Great place - we will be back!”

Recently returned from a week at this lovely aparthotel. We booked a last minute getaway at a VERY reasonable price and were really impressed with the accommodation. It was spacious, clean and had everything required for a self-catered holiday. We didn't use the restaurant at all, so can't comment on food etc. On check-in we were given a voucher to use in the Spa within a couple of days. It was valid for a Hydrotherapy Circuit and we were able to use it on our 2nd day. It was great! I liked it so much I went back a few more times, and at 15euros for TWO sessions, it was really good value for money. The pools and snack bar area were well-maintained with plenty of sunbeds and from what we could see the few children we saw were being entertained daily with various sporting challenges. We had hired a car for our week and were offered underground parking at the hotel at a cost but we managed to park directly outside on the the street free of charge with no problems whatsoever. This was our first visit to Tenerife and it won't be our last! We like the quieter life and the resort of Golf del Sur was ideal for us. The small fishing village of Los Abrigos was a favourite with a selection of fresh fish and seafood restaurants as was Las Galletas, another small fishing port.

We stayed at hotel in the October holidays and really enjoyed our stay. We had booked a two bedroom apartment and it was really spacious with two bathrooms, kitchen and huge lounge area separating the large bedrooms. The apartment was cleaned most days and was kept very clean and well stocked with fresh towels and fresh beds. The hotel itself had a spacious luxurious atmosphere, we were self catering so cannot comment about food from the main dining room but salads and snacks from the poolside bar at lunchtime were fresh and tasty and good value. We found the small grocery shop beside the hotel baked fresh baguettes and croissants each morning and found these delicious for breakfast. For dinner there were many different restaurants within a short walk from the hotel, many of these had set dinner prices and we found the food was lovely and very good value compared to the uk. Days were spent around the pools, with ample loungers and daily games of water polo this suited us all. Pool, darts etc was also organised. There was entertainment most evenings which the kids were keen to return to after our dinner and meet up with their friends the bar offered a nice end to the day. Staff were all friendly and professional. I tried the attached spa for a massage one day and it was a real treat with excellent therapists. Overall we found the standard of accomodation to be excellent, and other guests and staff friendly and sociable. Would hope to return again one day, and would recommend highly.

The Cordial Golf Plaza is lovely Aparthotel. The rooms are extremely spacious with separate living room, kitchenette, bedroom and bathroom (with bath and shower). We were on the ground floor which also had an enormous dual aspect patio area. Everything was immaculately clean and tidy. We had a fantastic four day break and were more than happy with our stay. We were self catering but ate at the pool bar on a couple of occasions and the food was very good, although limited choices.« less “Top Tip: A 20 minute stroll along the coastal walkway (which is breathtaking) will take you into Sans Blas which has a shopping centre with numerous restaurants and very good places to eat.

We stayed here for a week over Christmas and found the hotel to be very comfortable. The rooms were cleaned on a daily basis and the apartment was very spacious. We had an apartment at the front of the hotel and had the sun on the terrace until approximately 13:00, when we then went down to the poolside. The pools were advertised as heated, however they were not, but this did not spoil our holiday. We only ate in the hotel once and the food was OK, but there is quite a few nice places to visit within a 10 minute walk which saw us eating out quite a bit. We were expecting the area to be quite noisy as it is located very close to the airport, however this was not the case, yes the planes come very close but my son loved welcoming everyone to Tenerife and it became a little bit of a game for us. The hotel does not have a cash point, however the staff directed us to another hotel within a 10 minute walk who had a cash machine. We enjoyed our stay at Golf Plaza and would recommend this to anyone who wanted to stay in a quiet location.
“Excellent, peaceful hotel”
assheton , Manchester
I very much agree with the previous reviewer. This is a quality hotel, in a peaceful location, with spacious, sunny areas around the 2 swimming pools, one of which is heated to a comfortable temperature, even in December. We had an appartment, overlooking the pool, with a sunny balcony that is great for winter. There is virtually no traffic noise on the pool side of the hotel and the planes that cruise in when landing at the nearby airport are not very noisy and pass in seconds. Both the bedroom and the living room are spacious and well furnished, and the kitchen is well equipped. We took half board, which was excellent value, and both Breakfast and Dinner had a large choice of good quality food. Its too easy to put on weight here! The dining room staff were efficient, friendly and hard working. To our surprise, the appartment was cleaned about 5 times each week and the towels and bedding were changed a couple of times. Although not far from the sea, there is no beach there, and some guests took the bus to nearby resorts where there were beaches and more facilities. As the name of the hotel implies, there are very large golf courses near to the hotel, though I wasn't aware of many golfers staying there. This place may not suit people who want easy access to bars, restaurants and entertainment, but its a great hotel for a quiet holiday.
“Great Winter Break”
Prudol , Preston, Reino Unido
Stayed 7nights in December. Booked an apartment for three with half board. Arrived late but reception were helpful and made sure we got a meal as restaurant closing. Spacious apartment. Large twin bedroom, lounge with two sofa beds, well equipped kitchen, bathroom with bath and shower, balcony with table. All quite clean and functional. Had asked for a room on poolside and ours got the sun all day. Thanks. The rooms were cleaned most days, with a change of bedding and towels twice a week. Perfectly adequate. Breakfast was excellent with every thing you could want. Chef cooking eggs and omelettes was a bonus. Lots of fresh fruit. You can never get a good cup of tea in these places because the water from the machine is not hot enough. Here you could use the microwave to improve things. Buffet suppers were equally good. Excellent salad choice, adequate selection of hot meats, fish and vegetables. Good balance between local fare and 'international'. Again a bonus was the chef cooking fresh meat or fish. The staff were very friendly and helpful, giving a good atmosphere. The pool area was clean and one of the pools was well heated so swimming was a pleasure for December. Planes fly low over the hotel throughout the day but are never particularly intrusive. None in the night. There was entertainment every night but we didn't participate. The hotel was very quiet - but it was only half full most of the time. On our day of departure, taking a late flight, we were able to get a free courtesy room for an hour in the afternoon to change and pack. Very useful. Parking on the street near the hotel was no problem and there seemed to be regular buses stopping outside the hotel. Enjoyed our stay here and would certainly return.

Rooms spacious and clean but the entertainment i.e. T.V. is very poor if you are British. It is 2012 so think there should be entertainment channels from U.K. and a DVD player provided particularly as there are only news channels in English - the last thing you want on holiday!!. Otherwise the stay was great - 4th. time in 3 years and will be back again as the pool view rooms are lovely.Bus stops just outside which is great when making your way back from a tiring day out.

117LoveToTravel1 , Manchester, Reino Unido
My boyfriend and I returned from this hotel on the 18th November, after a week Self Catering. We booked this very late as obtained a fantastic deal through work. We were solely after a clean 4* hotel with access to other resorts in Tenerife South, and this is what we got. The apartments are very light and spacious. Kitchen facilities were fine for rustling up a basic meal. Maid service was very good, we had our room spotlessly cleaned 5 of the 7 days we stayed, with nice little personal touches (towel animals etc). The resort it self isn't the liveliest no, but there are plenty of places to grab a beer in the evening or a bite to eat. There's a superb Mexican near the marina front, where staff were very welcoming and offered complimentary tequila- can't complain! Also a Tapas and Chilli restaurant which was very nice! We also went Las Americas a couple of evenings and got the last bus back at 21:55 for about 4 euros for the two of us each way which takes between 20-30 minutes. The small rocky cove in Golf Del Sur is relaxing and the sea lovely and clean. Negatives- The mini supermarkets massively over charge, but we worked around this by just buying the essentials and grabbing things while out. Also, do not expect buses to turn up on time, is a little infuriating to say the least, and a couple of the drivers we came across were exceptionally rude. We learnt there is also no bus from the airport to Golf Del Sur, you have to go to Los Cristianos first. Taxi is 15 euros- no negotiation. Siam and Loro parque are also worth doing! All in all, Tenerife admittedly wasn't quite what we were expecting, but we had a fun week, beautiful weather and lovely clean apartnments.

We were a party of 5, myself,daughter,son-in-law and 2 granddaughters on selfcaterring. We were apprehensive about booking because of the flight path but were assured by reviews and the lady at the travel agents who booked us (she had been twice to Golf Plaza)that this would be no problem and it wasn't. Immaculate hotel, spacious and with quiet corners. We had a second floor apartment overlooking the pool area and towards the sea. It was huge, so much storage space and large family bathroom and shower room. Maid service was really good. My only niggle was that there was no microwave, which really is a must these days in any kitchen especially when you are s/catering whether you use it or not, and the fact there was an electric socket on the wall above the sink unit. Finally a word about Hector, absolutely brilliant, working tirelessly to entertain the children.
“Golf Plaza October stay”

Stayed for 3 weeks from 2nd October 2012. Read reviews on Trip Advisor which were both accurate and very helpful. Hotel was very clean. Pool side apartment as recommended was excellent for late afternoon and evening sun and quieter than roadside. Maid service excellent. Reception excellent, patient and very helpful. Wifi and internet is extra and so is safe hire. Resort is fairly quiet. Bus stop outside hotel 483 Best for Los Cristianos and Las Americas, buses also go to Los abrgos Las Galletas and Medano from outside hotel. We booked through Broadway travel and were very pleased with the service and details we received. Nice coastal walks available although some parts are unfortunately a bit "doggy/dirty" thanks to selfish dog owners! Couple of nice coves in which to swim on stoney beaches.
“Great hotel, great holiday”
catlinm1967, Blackpool, Lancs. UK
Had heard good things about the hotel and bad things about the planes. Well,I agree with the good stuff. Reception staff are friendly and helpful, even when language can be a barrier. Maintenance guy is great (he even came a fixed a light we hadn't reported yet, I suspect maid service reported it). The Apartments are HUGE, I've lived in smaller places, including my first house. Well equipped with loads of storage and drawers. The TV could be better and maybe have satellite, but I don't go on holiday to watch TV, so wasn't a massive problem. The one thing I would say is the pillows are very thin and the beds are on the harder side, but I bet reception would provide more pillows if you asked (we didn't bother). And the AC is so good we had to turn it off! As for the planes, it was amusing to wave at the pilot and passengers as they passed by the window (they seem that close, they're not really), but they don't start early or finish late and you don't really notice the noise after the first morning! looking at the island map and the flight paths, you'd have the same problems in a LOT of the other resorts and hotels anyway. And when you're diving (which is what the holiday is about for me) they really don't matter. Even the days by the pool and on the beach weren't disturbed by them... Overall, a great hotel and a great weeks Winter Sun holiday.
“It's oh so quiet, it's oh so still.”
A nice peaceful holiday within 10 minutes of the Airport & no the planes don't bother you hardly. The Suite/Apartment was big for 2 people & no doubt adequate for 4, a couple of small niggles when we arrived but soon sorted by Tony the man who can & with a smile even though I was annoyed & tired after a long day, we never used the free spa circuit but seems it was ok, you could change dinner for lunch, which we did most days as we like to walk out & have a meal of an evening. The entire place was immaculately clean & the rooms sorted 5 days from 7, the food wasn't fabulous but there was always a decent choice & you could find something, the free drinks helped a lot, outside the Hotel there are some decent restaurants & also some nice coastal walks by the Golf courses, so ideal for a relaxed, chilled stay, suited us perfectly.

“chill out in south Tenerife”
acvm, Londres, Reino Unido
This was the third time we had visited the south of Tenerife and found this hotel to be excellent value for money. The staff were particularly helpful and obliging. The hotel is extremely spacious and has ample space around the large pool and the children's paddling pool with plenty of loungers available and a small pool side restaurant cafe catering for your needs. There is good supervision and facilities provided. The main restaurant provided breakfast and dinner at very reasonable prices and a good choice of wine etc. there is also an evening bar with a varied program of entertainment and a small coffee shop/bar adjacent to the entrance. The travel office was able to offer a selection of trip to explore both this Island and the neighbouring island of La Gomera and were very helpful. The room we were allocated were enormous and could easily have accommodated more than the 2 of us with a large balcony overlooking the pool, cooking facilities were very adequate but we did not make much use of them as we found the local restaurants at the nearby fishing villages (Los Abrigos and El Medano) a short taxi bus ride away superb as recommended in the Michelin guide and living up to their reputation for excellence. The Spa attached to the hotel with sauna etc was an additional facility which enhanced our stay. Even although close to the flight path the noise was easily adjusted too and not too intrusive, night flights are banned anyway. The airport is only a short taxi ride away and the transfer by taxi is simple. The cleaning service for the room was excellent.

We have just returned form the Cordial Golf Plaza after a two week break with our four daughters aged between 11-15. The two bed apartment was easily large enough for us all and having two bathrooms a huge bonus! The kitchen is not overly well equipped, plenty of plates etc but cooking utensils limited, electric hob (two rings) limiting, oven okay but not easy to negotiate with lack of utensils. This in no way spoiled our stay, the fridge was great and even has an ice box. Plenty of towels which were regularly changed, we had to put a ten euro deposit on towels for the sun beds and promptly had one stolen in the first hour! I feel this was probably a child wanting a souvenir or a genuine mix up rather than a bigger issue. Sun beds a plenty! no worries about having to reserve them, although most people still did to get their favoured spot! We ate at the hotel only once which was breakfast, good choice something to please everyone, plenty of tables nicely laid. All the staff were wonderful; always felt welcomed whether asking for something at reception or buying sandwiches at the snack bar the staff had time for us. Special credit though to games co-ordinator 'Hector' his ability to charm without intrusion was exceptional; I have never seen so many age groups and sheer volume of people take part in the water exercise!! it was a joy to watch, water polo and other games well attended and enjoyed by all. The mini mart next to the hotel was useful, we had a car and made good use of it, the San Blas centre is probably a mile away which has a decent supermarket and several good places to eat, the chinese (The Great Wall) was particularly good both value and quality. We enjoyed the isolation as we had the car to get around, possibly limiting without it. Great stay and fab holiday

We chose this hotel for its quiet(ish) location and great price, and we weren't disappointed. The hotel is large, but was only about 30-40% full when we went in May. There were always sunbeds available at any time of the day; although I did see people sauntering down there in the morning and reserving 12 (yes, 12!!) sunbeds in a row before walking off again, despite large signs stating that reserving sunbeds was forbidden. I know it is common practice for hotels in Tenerife to charge for WiFi, but it still bugs me to have to pay for it (it is the only time I have had to pay for internet in all the 46 hotels I have stayed in the last 12 months), especially when it isn't even available in the rooms and you have to go to reception to use your laptop. The receptionist did try her hardest to find us a room as near to the reception as possible to hopefully get WiFi in the room, but although there was a connection there, it wasn't strong enough to do anything with. The hotel was spotlessly clean throughout, and the room was cleaned five out of the seven nights. The apartments are really large (we had the junior suite or whatever they are called, and they are worth the extra money in my opinion, especially if you intend to cook). We didn't eat in the hotel as we cooked all but one meal in the apartment so i can't comment on the food. We did have a drink in the bar one night, and I thought the prices were OK, and a good choice. We are quite antisocial when we travel, so were really happy to sit on the balcony (which was HUGE) with a bottle of wine in the evening. There is a small supermarket next door to the hotel which sells all the essentials, and a very large store about five minute drive away. We hired a car, so that was no problem. One thing I found really odd was for a four star hotel not to have porters readily available to help with your luggage when you arrived. They made up for this, however, on the day we were leaving: as the flight was not until late afternoon, and we had to check out by 10:00, we were able to pre-book a room for an hour to have a shower and get changed, all free of charge. That was a really nice touch, and very well organised with lots of soap and towels in the room. I was VERY impressed with that. The post box in the hotel is only emptied twice a week, worth noting, if like me you wanted to send a card every day to a loved one. Although there are no bars or restaurants in the immediate vicinity of the hotel, it is an easy walk to the main part of the village with a great choice of eateries and drinking establishments. We liked the resort very much, we saw no hoardes of drunken louts or heard any loud nightclubs. If that is what you are after, this place may not be for you. I know lots of people say about the airport noise, but honestly, after the first few planes I didn't notice.

Just returned from a family holiday at the golf plaza where we stayed for 6 days. The hotel made it a great relaxing holiday. Our room was very spacious and clean and provided us with a couple of good facilities. The hotel itself was also very clean, very big and very well decorated. We paid for bed, breakfast and evening meals as well as unlimited drinks at meal times (I advise this option as it’s the next best thing to all inclusive) the food was very nice and there was a variety to choose from. You watched the chef freshly cook egg and bacon for breakfast, to order, and in the evenings the you could watch the chef cook things like lamb chops and chicken breasts so all food was served fresh. The pool side area and the pool was very clean and snacks and drinks were available to buy through the day, all staff were very friendly and Hector the entertainer was absolutely fantastic. He came five times a week providing activities for children and adults throughout the day and the evening including pool, darts, water polo and bingo in the evening. It was also a great location as shops and restaurants were 5 minutes in a taxi at the cost of €4. A shop was also as part of the resort where you could by some essentials every day and freshly baked baguettes. There was also a bus stop just outside, which was very cheap and could take you to the main shopping centres in Las Americas and Los Christianos for just €2. A few negatives/pointers • Hector won’t be their next year! So go now if you can  • The maids only came and made up our room twice, whilst information leaflets said they come 5 times a week. • On the first two days are key cards to the room kept deactivating and we had to keep going back to reception to re activate them, which was a nuisance. • Be careful with the taxi’s as we seem to have been ripped off when we arrived at the airport as it took us to our hotel and charged €20 but when we got the taxi back to the airport on our last day it only got €12

It's an ideal family holiday. We're a family of 7 and we found it was perfect. There were plenty of other families there that also spoke English. The staff were understandable in speaking English and in they were polite, funny and kind. The entertainer was Hector and he was the best addition to the hotel. It wouldn't have been half the holiday it was for us without him getting everyone interacting with each other and helping you make new friends. We all still talk about it, especially Hector and the memories of water polo, water exercise, bingo, the quizzes and the mini disco. Even though we were all older than we should be for participating in dancing in the kids disco we all still did it.

We booked with miss ellies travel , and thought this holiday probably wasnt gouing to be great, as they were offering half board with drinks for the same price as self catering, but we thought we would give it a try. We booked our flights seperate and got good flight times with ryanair. We also asked if possible if er could have a room with pool view, top floor. When we arrived the reception staff were very nice but told us our room wouldnt be ready for an hour and a half as it was being cleaned, we just thought ok we will just have a walk around, we returned and was given the key we were very pleased when we saw our room it was an apartment, seperate large bedroom large bathroom large lounge and kitchen area, good sized patio area with table and chairs, overlooking the pool, fantastic room 217 Large pool area very large hotel lobby small onsite bar and cafe 2.50 euro for a pint of larger. We arrived for our free evening meal and was very pleasantly surprised, very good salad bar, Limited Main courses but what there was was really nice, also chef was cooking to order two different meats on griddle usually one meat and one fish, very nice selection of desserts and pastries, ice creams and fruit. Also in the other corner was the free drinks, which you could help yourself to. The area was a little quiet, but this didnt bother us. Bus stop to las americas stopped just outside if you wanted it a little buisier, and also if you after a cheap pint in los cristianos it was 1 euro for a pint wow. Try walking to san bass its only about 1 kilometer, turn right out of the hotel look for the signs and look for The vinnici hotel, try la trebena for a really nice snack and drink, very nice quality food.

We have just returned from a 7 night stay in the Golf Plaza, and loved every minute of it. There were 4 of us, myself and my husband and 2 children, aged 7 and 9. We had a lovely, clean and spacious room with a pool view from the balcony. The kids loved Hector, the childrens entertainer, who kept all the kids and adults amused throughout the day with water aerobics, water polo, darts competitions, and in the evening with a kids disco, then bingo and maybe a quiz. He was excellent with the kids! The food was great, plenty of choice at breakfast and dinner. Maid service is excellent! O'Donnells Irish bar just a minute walk away served excellent lunches We went to Loro Park one day which was excellent and the water park, Siam Park another day which was even better! We took the organised bus to Loro park as it is just over an hour away, but just got a taxi to Siam Park as it was fairly close. This cost 15 euros. The only advice I would give about Siam park is to make use of the locker facilities, as my sons sandals were stolen!!! I had a lovely relaxing massage at the spa and my husband used the spa every day and loved it. Overall a great week, and we would love to return again soon!

Stayed here in Feb 2012, we were put just above the reception which was a little noisy but not a big problem, lovely big clean rooms and all the utensils needed for sc. Great big balcony to have breakfast on. The cordial golfs pool was also good if maybe a little cold. Overall a nice stay in the cordial, staff were helpful and friendly, would defiantly return,oh ye people mentioned the planes overhead, i think you just get used to it, not a massive issue!!, and free spa day was also a great bonus. good value for money, if travelling self catering you will be pleased.

we have just returned from golf plaza. we booked a 2 bedroom apartment which was absolutely massive and spotlessly clean. This is a quiet hotel which is away from the resorts and beach. Staff very helpful, plenty of sunbeds and space around the pool. We went half board and the food was ok. Nice hotel, would consider returning. Irish bar just up the road served excellent english pub grub.

We were there for 2 weeks so got well used to staff etc,no problemo. One thing we were not told was the car park under the hotel, know 4 again! Nice walks around to marina, coast path, and sans blas, and back thru/around golf courses. Will be back...enjoy, cj

Sicuramente ci tornerei.
“Great holiday... nice place”

We booked flights to Tenerife last minute and arranged to stay at the Golf Plaza as it's in a quiter part of the South of Tenerife, with buses and taxis to take you where you want to get to. We took our 9 year old niece who loved to go in the pool and join in with the games organized by the on site entertainment. We were self catering, so I'm unable to comment on any of the food service etc. Our apartment was large and spacious... we thought we had booked a double with a single, but we got a bed on the sofa instead of the single. We didn't make a fuss as there was plenty of room and she was delighted. We didn't spen much time at the hotel apart from going to the pool in the mornings and later in the evening if we had the time. I did notice that the beds weren't made every day (2 days out of the week they hadn't been touched) which also meant the towels hadn't been changed. Again... this is something to make a fuss over but luckily it didn't affect us too much. We spent a lot of time getting out and about on trips and tours etc. All in all for self catering this place was good... there's a supermarket next door and up the road too in walking distance. On a few occassions when we wanted a quick snack meal we went to the Irish Bar up the road which was great value for money, especially if you have kids. Had a great holiday... we like to try different places all the time so may not necessarily be going back.

Date of our visit: 7th February 2012. Length of stay: 10 nights Board basis: Half Board Cleanliness & Service were the key features for this apartotel. All of the staff were trained to provide that little bit extra. The apartments (ref 015) were well proportioned, functional and clean, comprising spacious lobby; lounge (inc TV – only 1 English language (news) channel); kitchen facilities inc fridge; large bedroom with ample hanging & storage space (for 2 of us) Security Box for rent charged €2 per day; spacious bath/shower (fresh towels 5 days out of 7); wide, furnished veranda. From my experience as a Half-board guest, the food varied between very good and predictable, but never poor. The dining room staff were friendly, helpful and efficient. The grounds, including the swimming pools - were peaceful and well kept (no background music), always plenty of sunbeds. The nearest beach was quite a distance away from the hotel grounds (perhaps over 1 mile). As for entertainment: CGP catered for the needs of kiddies first, then some modest cabaret, and bingo. Lobby/Reception: Efficient reception staff. Ignore previous scathing comments about a ‘surly ‘pregnant’ receptionist, the girl was very nice if you could be bothered to smile or chat to her. Computer facilities (charged €1 for 15 minutes). Adjacent minimarket shop. Public phones. Adjacent (independent) Bar Food: Good value. Buffet Breakfast offered (4) good quality juices, various coffees, teas, choice of cereals, yoghurts, fresh fruit salad, hot and cold options with the usual continental ham & cheeses, bread buns + sliced etc. included. In summary, loads of choice. Evening Dinner: A wide selection of Cold starters including traditional dips and salads plus soup. Again, over a number of days, some items could become predictable, but never poor quality (OK - maybe the lamb chops). The mains hot buffet regularly included local meat & pasta specialities. Fish was always of a good standard. Desserts included cakes, gateaux, fresh fruit, ice cream. Table service for drinks. In summary, plenty of choice and smiling, caring waiting staff. Clientelle: mainly UK, some Spanish/Italian/German/ ‘Russian’ (East Slavics). Age profile: Kids, Teens, 20-odds to 70-odds, but skewed mainly in the 35 -45 age group. No badly behaved guests. Apart from a couple of nearby Irish pubs and Volare’s (Phoenix nights meets the local working man’s club), there’s not a lot to do on the doorstep on an evening. You would need to walk 1 mile to get to the 'San Blas Centre' the central point for evening entertainment with live cabaret acts and music to entertain you along with plenty of restaurants, bars and shops. The bus service to Los Christianos stopped right outside the hotel. For those who hired cars, there was secure car parking beneath CGP (charged for) or adequate on-street parking. Negatives: Noises travelled too easily from the floors above, and sometimes from next door apartment, but didn’t cause us to lose too much sleep. Too remote, if you liked to ‘promenade’ on an evening (when bars & pubs weren’t your thing). For what we paid, the package delivered.
“Smart and friendly hotel”
TW-KW, Frinton-On-Sea, Reino Unido
Just back home from the Cordial Golf Plaza Aparthotel - one of the smartest hotels we have stayed in. The apartment was huge and comfortable compared to many, and the kitchen well appointed. We stayed half board and can certainly recommend the food. Even on a gluten/wheat-free diet, there was always plenty to chose from and I enjoyed every meal. Be aware that drinks are not included with the evening meal on H/B. The area is generally quiet, although there are various restaurants/bars fairly nearby for those on self-catering - English, Irish, Chinese, Italian & Indian. Strangely, we found we had to seek out Spanish/Canarian eateries, even in Los Christianos & Las Americas, bigger more lively areas that are easy to get to by bus from outside the hotel. The hotel was very clean and an attractive design, and the staff generally friendly and helpful. Evening entertainment was not fantastic, but we did not expect it to be so out of season - a short animal show mainly for the children some nights (although our 18 year old found the parrot show hilarious!) and singers on 2 nights (one much better than the other). Be aware the 10Euro photos with the animals are just digital snaps complete with shadows & unplanned backgrounds, but not professional quality photographs with planned composition etc. - fine if you're happy to spend that for a momento. We found the beds hard and had to ask for blankets due to the unseasonably cool weather. The South Tenerife airport is nearby (just a 12Euros taxi ride) so be prepared for low-flying aircraft. This did not spoil our stay. There was a good mix of people and ages staying here (February 2012), from young couples and families to middle-aged and retired people. There was a very friendly atmosphere and the one incident of rowdiness seemed to be dealt with quickly and efficiently. We would recommend this hotel for anyone wanting to stay in this area, perhaps for the many golfing facilities or for a quiet retreat, although we would most probably stay in Los Christianos for the livelier resort, if we return to the south of Tenerife.

My wife and I had a winter break here from 4th-11th February. The hotel is spotlessly clean. The apartments are spacious and adequately equipped. The service is the friendliest I have ever enjoyed. We were on half-board and the food was always good to very good. On several occasions the fish dishes were excellent. The hotel has a heated outdoor pool which was a real benefit as the unheated pool was a bit too cool for the faint-hearted. The only downside was that our apartment was on the lower ground floor beside the pool bar. The noise of much repeated Adele songs did become a bit wearing at times.
“Spacious and Spotless Hotel Rooms”

Stayed here in early February, The hotel was really nice and the pool area was lovely with plenty of very comfortable sunbeds with matresses! Staff very friendly everywhere but particularly so in the front bar.Was self catering so can't comment on the food. Kitchen well equipped with full oven and grill. Bathroom huge and really nice. Rooms were cleaned 5 times a week with clean towels left. The only problem was that our room and balcony got absolutely no sunshine for our entire stay so it was cold on the balcony and even in the room. There are a lot of wind tunnels around the hotel but especially as you walk in the front door. The resort of Golf del Sur is very small and quite windy so you should bring some warm clothing. A lot of people got the bus into Los Cristianos or Costa Adeje. It stops right outside the hotel and costs €1.50 or €2 depending on where you go. The 483 is the direct bus and takes about half an hour to get to Los cristianos. It departs the hotel at 10.15 and 11.15 in the morning. It is worth the journey as it is much warmer in Los cristianos and better for beaches and shopping etc. Golf del sur has no beach. It has a small marina with restaurants and a small shoppng centre in San Blas which is a 20 minute walk from the hotel. You can walk through the hotel Winter Gardens to a small street of restaurants and an ATM. We ate in the Chinese and also at the Bistro and both were very nice. There was good entertainment in the Wild Geese most nights and also in O Donnells just up from the hotel. The food there was also very good.

stayed in these apartments 4 to 11 feb and had an enjoyable week.they are clean and the rooms were cleaned 5 times during our 7 day stay as well as clean towels.we had a one bedroom and it was massive and suited our needs.there was a bit of noise from the planes overhead but you get used to it .the staff are all friendly the pool area is well kept and cleaned even during the afternoon to keep it tidy.as we were self catering we had no meals.we would certainly go back.the only thing we would take is a couple of mugs so you can have a big cup of coffee as they only have smallish cups but that apart a nice complex

If you are like us, then the thought of spending a week sleeping in the same room as your children will be more than you can bare (love them dearly but oh no not for me). We always struggle to find good apartment type hotel but this was great. We booked a one bedroom basic suite and requested a pool/sea view as recommended here on Tripadvisor. Our room was enormous, a corner suite on the ground floor, with two balconies and a really large lounge/dining area (if you are looking at the hotel website it is the blue and yellow stripped furnishings). It was quite basic but that is what we expected and we didn't pay a lot of money. They also provide a courtesy room for showering etc. before late departures - just remember to book this at reception. Be warned they do not heat the pool until November! My husband had a real moan at the manager and it did seem to get warmer the next day - maybe we imagined it. The staff were all lovely. Max, the children's entertainer, was fabulous and organised quite a few decent adult activities too (he was lovely even when no-one wanted to 'play'). We stayed on a room only basis which I think was a good decision as the in-house buffet wasn't really up to much and we found some great restaurants nearby (Tapas N'Chill and Hewelli). There isn't much nightlife nearby which was fine for us but Siam Water Park and the nightlife at Las Americas is about €20 away by taxi. All in all, nothing special but just what we needed to get us through a miserable UK Winter.

8 I stayed at the Golf Plaza next door to the Royal Park Albatross, as I was disgusted with my accommodation at the Albatross. What a difference, it was like night and day! The apartment hotel was very spacious with a massive tall entrance hall. Everywhere was grand, including the open hallways. Apartments and balconies were large, with big rooms. Kitchen was ok, but could have done with a few extra mod cons. Bathroom spacious with shower over bath, toilet, bidet, long counter with inset basin, full length mirror and hairdryer. Bedroom was large with spacious wardrobe and patio doors leading onto balcony. Livingroom had patio doors too, but the tv was dated with satelite tv but only showed BBC 24 news in English. Food was good and the pool was heated, but not scorching. Internet access available in the reception and by the pool using your own device (10 euros for 72hours - does not have to be used within 72hours) If you don't have a laptop, iphone etc. the reception have computers for access to the internet. Pool area is very nice with pool table and table tennis. If you book a minimum of 7 nights ask for the free voucher for the Spa next door, it must be used on your first day and you can spend 2 hours to chill out (check out the spa online - Atlantis Spa, Golf del Sur) fabulous! Evening entertainment was limited, but we stayed in January so didn't expect alot. Something on every night, including snake, eagle and parrot shows, singers, etc. with free bingo included, winning cocktails and bubbly. I was told by an English local that Jane Macdonald (Cruise singer and Loose Women panellist) stays at the hotel when she visits. Overall, our stay was an absolute pleasure, with staff very friendly. Looking to book here again next year.
“Friendly hotel with good facilities”
RolloPollo, Galway, Ireland
My wife and I holidayed here with 6 kids for 1 week during Christmas/New Year 2011/12. We booked 2 ground floor apartments/suites. They were very well decorated and kitted out and were cleaned/maintained to a high standard. The price was very reasonable, considering this is a relatively busy time in Tenerife. We elected to eat breakfast in the restaurant which offered a good selection of food. Possibly not as much fresh fruit as we'd like, but again, for the price charged, it was reasonable. There is a great childrens' activities programme here run by very approachable, enthusiastic personnel. They also manage the nightly kiddies' disco and a surprisingly impressive nightly entertainment programme. If I had a criticism, it would be the choice/standard of food in the poolside snack bar, which wasn't great. Also, the bar in the hotel gets no sun, as it's on the northside (front) of the building, so it's not a great place to enjoy a sundowner. It's well run and the food is better there than in the snack bar, but is sub-let to a contractor and doesn't really feel like it's part of the hotel. The resort itself is quite - there are some restaurants along the promenade, which is a 5-10 minute walk down the hill from the hotel but there is better choice and value in the restaurants in San Blas, which is a relatively easy 20 minute walk from the hotel. Overall, I'd recommend this hotel, particularly to families with young children.

Sergio y Ana.

Quiet week in Golf Plaza, however spacious room & friendly staff made stay enjoyable. Special thank you to Max in animation. Max certainly helped to make our week.
we stayed a week in november.Apartment very well appointed but strange little omissions like no iron-available from reception for 2 euros! Spa well worth a visit for a little pampering and is free entrance on your 1st or 2nd day.Pools are clean and big with more than enough sunbeds for everyone. poolside bar and hotel cafe/bar good for snacks with the cafe/bar also serving up a good breakfast if required.Location means a hire car or enough money for taxis is needed if you want to explore further afield, but it has to be said there is a very good Irish bar within 100 metres which serves up good value meals.Overall,if all you want to do on holiday is relax and get a tan then this is the place for you
Had a good girlie week-end here very clean everything you needed and a nice large balcony. Could not fault the hotel . Aeroplanes going over were no real problem . We were room only so we could try different restaurants. Hotel food was good but the Rendezvous Restaurant at the Winter Gardens Complex (a short distance from hotel) food was exellent. Stuart front of house made you very welcome and made you feel special also staff very pleasant and welcoming . All in all a well spent week-end.

Went to this hotel on a short break and found it to be a very pleasant place. We stayed on a half board basis and the food was served by way of a buffet and was varied and was plentiful. The accommodation was huge compared with most hotels and consisted of a double bedroom, bathroom, kitchen and lounge with large balcony. Some may find the low flying aircraft quite off putting as this hotel is on the flight path of incoming air traffic but it wasn't too bad. Finally, the pool is lovely with a separate one for any children and the hotel staff were very friendly especially Max And the 2 female staff in the pool cafe. Would recommend this hotel very much

“Can't wait to go back next year”
We just arrived back yesterday & can honestly say had a fabulous relaxing holiday. Very quiet, a total chill out holiday! Not for those who like pumping night life on their door step but if you happy to jump in taxi for 20 mins its all there. Also there is a really nice Irish bar just 2 mins walk from Plaza. Hotel staff very friendly & work hard for their euro's. Breakfast a bit repetative, found ourselves eating egg on toast but there is a good variety. looking to book for next year as loved it so much :-)
“Really enjoyed our stay!”
We stayed here as a family of 5 (2 adults & 3 children ages 11,8 and 2) in a one bedroom apt for 1 week in August. On arrival at the hotel first impressions were great and check-in swift with the receptionist being helpful and friendly. We went straight to our room which was fab! Very clean and nice and big - large bedroom with plenty of storage, a lovely big bathroom, a lovely living room with two settees in (which were also the single beds for the children - they were nice and big and very comfortable they said) and also a cot for our 2 year old (this was metal but perfectly clean with nice blankets on) and a brilliant little kitchen with full size fridge and oven! We were full board plus but having a kitchen meant we could keep drinks cold for the children and have a cup of tea on the balcony looking out to sea before going down for breakfast,a lovely way to start the day! We enjoyed the food at the hotel and always found something nice to eat. Plenty of choice and always hot. Lots of salads and cold meats, soups and pasta, a couple of hot dishes (stews etc) and then the grill where someone would be booking meat and fish (steaks, lamb chops, pork chops, chicken breasts, sausage, hake, cod, tuna etc) I found it hard to believe that some people did not enjoy the food and seemed to be expecting "English food"! When you are in Spain,it is nice to eat Spanish food! Drinks were a bonus being on tap to help yourself - red and white wine, sangria, lager, water and all soft drinks. Staff in the dinning room were always pleasant and helpful. The pool area is lovely! lots of parasols and adequately clean. There is a play area which my children enjoyed although it did get hot in the sun! Daytime entertainment was pretty much non existant with the entertainment lady doing a bit of something and nothing really - dont choose this hotel if your children want to go to clubs etc - my children made lots of friends so were happy just playing in the pool. Night-time entertainment was very average but we didn't mind as our children just played with their new friends and as there was only one door in and out we felt they were completely safe. The resort of Golf del Sur was a strange place we felt. It was like being in a resort out of season - lots of closed shops and restaurants and not many people, bizarre in the middle of august! However we didn't mind as we have been places at the same time that are so overcrowded its just not pleasant so this was preferable to that. All in all we loved our week here. We met some lovely people and the hotel is lovely and spotless and all the staff friendly and helpful! We are looking to return to this hotel next year!!

Lovely hotel in quiet location, spotlessly clean, fabulous spacious apartment. Four adults in 2 bedroom and plenty of room. Stayed half board, lovely salads and soup, fish or meat each night and lots of vegetables but by the end of the week was ready for a change. Went to Rendevouz, in Winter Gardens, and it was excellent really recommend it cost 96 euros for 4 including, wine, and 3 course meal. Would go back again

I stayed in early April at the Aparthotel Cordial Golf Plaza along with two friends and I must say that it is SO good! We lived in a large 2-bedroom apartment with several balconies, away from the pool, had a visit from the cleaning every day. We could at some point not lock our door to one of the balconies which we announced at the reception - about half an hour later, this was made by the staff - what a service! Now and then here is noise from airplanes because of the airport that is close, but you get used to this quickly. Located well outside of town, but busses to Las Americas often drive past. Just beside the hotel is a turistoffice which can help you with car renting, tours and excursions. We ate breakfast at the hotel, this was quite nice! We ate lunkch and dinner out in the city...you had to walk a little... I would definitely recommend the hotel to others - it was very great!
“Clean and spacious rooms, good food, comfortable stay”
Blueskiescloudycity , Oxford, Reino Unido
Just returned from a 2-week stay at this hotel with my husband and our 4 and 8 year old children. We booked half board plus which is breakfast, dinner + drinks with meals. The hotel is situated in a quiet area with mostly residential accommodation and a few restaurants and other hotels dotted around. No beach access but we explicitly didn't want one as just returned from beach trip and swimming pools made up for this. Room: Beautifully spacious rooms overlooking the pool. Our courtesy room (provided free of charge on last day as our flight was in the evening) overlooked the front of the hotel which was no where near as pretty. We could have paid 25 Euros to keep our room on our last day but it was not available as they were fully-booked. Bath towels were changed every day and toiletries added to our collection. You can hire beach towels for a 10 Euro deposit but they are a bit small. Kitchen is small but functional with fridge, toaster, coffee maker (plug-in with filters), oven & hobs. Loads of cupboard space. Beds were comfy and made every day. TV showed usual junk channels which pleased my kids no end. No iron (you can borrow one if necessary) but hairdyer and safe are provided. All the hotel was cleaned regularly and the staff took pride in keeping it clean. Reception area was lovely, with a little repository of used books if you need reading material. Too many machines selling kids' toys like those little bouncy balls, made it feel a bit like they were exploiting the fruits of my labour, ha! Internet access available at a cost. Food: Breakfast was good, especially if you avoided the usual bad interpretation of a full English. Otherwise pastries, rolls, fruit, yoghurt, cold meats. No omelette chef but there were eggs. Coffee not wonderful so bring your own to make in the room! Dinner always consisted of a number of salads both made up and individual ingredients, vegetables, cold platters, soups (gazpacho + 1 hot soup) and loads more. The lady at the grill would produce the most delicious meats and fish: good tuna fish steaks, sole, sirloin steaks, chicken fillets, pork chops, kebabs. Two different things each evening. Try the fish with the local mojo sauce...yum! Puds were not particularly exciting but such is the Spanish style - fruit, yoghurts, ice cream and local cakes. Drinks included red/white wine, sangria and the ubiquitous larger lager. The cafe next door also does meals but the only one we ate there wasn't particularly impressive. Amenities: Use the free entry to the spa, it's a lovely way to unwind. Shame it is at the start of the hol and it doesn't allow children. Don't rely on the Kids' Club if you need to have children looked after while you attend. The shop next door is handy but doesn't promote the 10% discount hugely. We tried to hire a car from the travel place next door and the lady was very rude so we took our services to the car hire place near the spa (next door hotel) and saved ourselves 10 Euros to boot. Pool area got a little busy on some days, other days it was deserted. Entertainment: I was pretty shocked by the style of the girl in the kids' club, even having read the reports beforehand. "Time for ping pong!" Oh but not if you're a child, it's for adults. Most adults I know can provide their own entertainment on holiday. "Time for karaoke!" Oh but no children singing this time. Have you tried telling a 4-yr-old he's not allowed to sing but the same old adults are? The quizes had the same questions repeated and were not really oriented to the children. Giving this animation girl some credit, she does have to work by herself in the day as well as the evening but given that there was no entertainment on Tues or Sun anyway, and half the time the groups were cancelled if there were no takers, it was hardly a tough job. In other words the pool entertainment and kids' club are exclusive rather than inclusive. Half the time I fantasised about just taking over the reigns and running my own kids club! I heard the girl being particularly rude and curt on a number of occasions, both to adults and children. If your children are easily upset, please avoid. On a number of occasions she made reference to the shows being for the adults and not for the children. She needs to remember that although she might find working with children a grind (!) if it were not for the families holidaying there, she would not have a job at this hotel. The kids' disco was at 8.30 which is a bit silly: 1 hour to wolf down dinner in time for the lousy mini-disco comprising the same 4 or 5 kids' songs. Over in 20 minutes. Then, if we were lucky, balloon play (strictly one balloon per child) leaving the kids to play by themselves whilst enduring a loooooong wait before the shows started. We - and other holidaymakers - found her style hugely disappointing. However, as it was, my kids seemed to toughen up to her style and we used her for her rather vaguely-timed 20-minute sessions here and there. Fine as long as you didn't move from the pool, which defeats the object a bit! The shows were fun but often started too late - 22.30 or so. We sometimesopted to sit our balcony and played cards or read. But beware the mozzies and take some citronella! Trips: Can hugely recommend the submarine trip and hiring a private yacht - we saw lots of pilot whales very, very close up. We also did the volcano trip which was interesting but a bit of a rip-off. It gets cold up top, so take a jumper. In sum, a good break, excellent for soaking some sun and for family time. Nobody really goes to Tenerife for the culture, so if you would like a relaxing break with few frills, go for this place.
“Fantastic, relaxing holiday”
We had a great holiday at golf plaza. We have two young children and it was very family friendly. The hotel was always clean and tidy and the staff were very friendly. The only downside was the kids club staff member, she didn't really seem that interested in children and the children didn't warm to her. Hence our children went for the first few days, then werent interested. Overall we would recommend this hotel, we would definitely go again. The resort of golf del sur is quiet but has adequate restaurants and bars.
“lovely hotel...out of the way though!”
clairsan89 , Wigan, Reino Unido
just returned from the Golf Plaza Hotel, absolutely fabulous place, spotlessly clean, big rooms, maids service every day without fail. Huge pool area, with a childs pool as well. The downsides of the place itself is there is no beach, dont be fooled if the brochure says the nearest beach less than 1km away...this is true, however the beach is black sand and stone and is a very lovely place but is not the place to laze on a towel unless you want cuts and grazes from the rocks. You can swim in the sea but there is a very steep drop after you get through the rocks. Golf Del Sur is more the type of place that people buy property. Also its very expensive, we ate at a tappenyaki restaurant on the harbour and for two adults and a child cost 76euro. we spent around 200euros on taxis to las americas and los christianos which are the same distance from the hotel. we didnt eat once at the hotel so i cant comment on the food. getting round the pool was impossible as the beds where full of towels very early and some of those beds never got used even though towels had been put on, this makes my blood boil, some people put them on just on the off chance they may come to the pool after spending the day out, the hotel should monitor this and discard any towels after a 2 hour period of the bed being unused, there was plenty of room for the hotel to put more beds out. Other than this if you want a very quiet holiday with not much choice of nightlife or eateries this is the place to go. we are going to stay in los christianos next year as its a lot livelier and the choice of restaurants is superb. you are right on the flightpath too, this never bothered us much tho but some people would find it annoying.
“Nice Hotel, quite location...downside no beaches nearby”
Laks07 , Hampshire, England
Stayed here from 10th August to 15 August, 2011. Nice hotel with very clean spacious rooms. Stayed in Single Bed Apartment with 2 kids (14 and 11) who slept in the lounge where the sofa beds turn into single beds. Staff were very helpful and answered your queries quickly. Food was not excellent but ok, improvement in quality will add to the extra effort the staff put in to make it better. Had a small kitchen as well, good for your morning coffee. Pool area was clean, but if you need a sun bed you need to put your towel early in the morning, we did not spend much time in the pool. Downside to location is there is no beaches nearby. The hotel is in the flight path, but after an hour you forget about the flights completely... Los Cristianos is 2 euros by bus and the bus stop is in front of the hotel which was handy, have 2 beaches. Go to Las Vistas beach where you have good waves compared to Los Critianos. All in all a very realxing week.
“Excellent choice for families, but be aware of the following.”
CoolAsAish , Great Yarmouth, Reino Unido
My family stayed here at the start of the summer holidays in July 2011. We are a couple with three girls aged 2,4 and 8. We stayed in a one bedroom apartment on the first floor, with views of the pool and the Atlantic ocean. The bedroom was large and spacious, large wardrobe and furniture. The patio/balcony area was large and had gorgeous views of the ocean and of the pool. We also had patio furniture which was great. The apartment had glass doors/windows through atleast a third of the apartment which was a bonus. The living room sofas converted in to single beds and they were more than adequate for our girls. The TV is old school and there are two engling channels (CNN and BBC news). The kitchen is small but does the job. The dining area had a 4 seater dining table and the bathroom was suitable too. Points to note, our apartment had no microwave, twice the key card for our room stopped working but was solved with a quick trip to the reception desk. We had to pay for the use of an ironing board and iron at a rate of 2 euros a day + refundable 10 euro deposit. We also paid 2 euros a day for the car park but then changed our minds as the carpark was underground, really dark and dingy and was where the bins were kept. The smell was awful. There is ample parking outside. Restaurant had a great breakfast buffet and was hit and miss with dinner. There is a restaurant attached to the hotel which is nothing to do with hotel and food here is authentic as well as serving english favourites (fry up's, baguettes etc.) No concierge or porter service but hotel will provide you with a trolley for your luggage. Staff were really friendly and helpful. Especially Anna and a particular waitor who was always there for brakfast and dinner but I cannot remember his name. Pool was clean and the kids loved it. Loads of sun loungers available. Golf del sur is quiet area but most places are close (15 min drive to Los Cristianos and Las Americas). Driving is straightforward and if you are going on excursions then find an agent (next to hotel) who will do you deals (for example twin ticket deals for the water park and zoo). If you have time visit Mount Teide, views are gorgeous and the national park is stunning. Also go and see the black sand beaches which are turly something else. The nearest to this hotel is El Medona a 7 min drive. Siam park is brilliant and a must for families, get there early as all the sun loungers go fast! The hotel is under a flight path but it's not bad as some make out. We ended up plane spotting by the pool which was fun for the kids. They have entertainment every evening in the Piano bar where kids are welcome. Usually a disco for kids after dinner followed by a magic show or snake show etc. Goes on until about 11.30pm. We will be going back at some point. Good choice.

We initially booked for only 1 week, half board plus (which includes unlimited drinks with meals). The rooms are very spacious, as everyone says! We were on the 2nd floor, at the front of the hotel. I disagree with a previous review that says it's a very busy road, it's a one way road that does have passing traffic, but certainly not busy, and you only heard buses and lorries really. The balcony is very large, we could have our uv tent up, plus table and chairs and there was still loads of room. Only downside (for us) is that they didn't provide parasols so we couldn't spend much time on the balcony as was very hot, with no shade in the midday sun. Felt very safe for the kids as there was not a big drop off the balcony, and was also very private. Bedroom was large also, with plenty of storage space (although only a few hangers) and bed was big enough for us to share with our 4 year old son as we didn't really like the idea of sleeping on the sofa bed. Kitchen didn't have a microwave, which surprised me, and would have been annoying if my youngest was still on bottles. Otherwise had all the basic utensils. One tip is if you like a decent size cuppa, bring your own mug, they only provide small tea cups! Swimming pools are good. Initially there was a broken floor grate in the baby pool so was concerned as was sharp but was soon repaired once we reported it. There were plenty of sunbeds but there was a lack of parasols. These were permanent ones so people would put their towels on these ones and would only leave the beds that were in the direct sun - again a problem for us with 2 young children. We had to do what everyone else was doing, putting towels on the beds we wanted first thing in the morning, which I actually don't agree with. Yes you do hear the planes and occasionally they can be very loud, but for only about 20secs and the kids actually loved seeing them go over. Don't go for the kids club. She seems to only favour spanish children. Kept walking right pass us and not asking our kids if they wanted to join in. We took them over ourselves, asked if this was the kids club, she said yes, then pulled in her chair, began talking spanish to the others and left us standing there like lemons. Wasn't impressed. And she was only doing colouring with them anyway! Food was great. Everything they cooked was to a good standard. Lots of variety. My only complaint is that I'm vegetarian and most days there was nothing that was meat or fish free. So majority of the dinners I had omelette, which they did happily make for me. Location is ok. It is in a quiet area. The small area of San Blas is a km away, which is easily walkable but is up and down hills so with pushchairs, is a good work out! If you walk along the coast, be prepared that some of the path is still unmade so a bit bumpy! ALL staff were friendly. From the cleaners to the restaurant staff, to the maintenance men, to reception staff. We had to stay for an extra 5 days as our boys caught chicken pox and the reception staff were very helpful in helping us to sort things out with our insurance company. Once we were allowed out of our room again as no longer contagious, the staff still talked to them and made them laugh (despite them being covered in spots!) Bus stop and taxi rank is right outside so easy to get to the main resorts. 2 euros for bus, 15 euros by taxi to christianos. We would go back and would recommend to others. The hotel we had no faults at all, but just would advise other travellers to just make sure that this area of tenerife is right for you.
This hotel is lovely, as previous holiday makers have said rooms are very spacious and you have everything you need. If you are sensitive to noise (like I am) you can often hear noise from your next door neighbours and because the hotel rooms are all based around a central square then you can hear when people leave and return to their rooms etc and with it being such a family friendly hotel there are lots of children which as expected are noisy as they are enjoying their holidays! If possible try to ask for a room away from the front of the hotel as it is a very busy road. On our first night we had a room here and it was very noisy, however we complained to reception and they moved us straight away to a room at the back of the hotel which was reasonably quiet. Rooms were cleaned to perfection and the food was amazing - you couldn't fault it lots to choose from and the staff couldn't do enough for you. Overall an excellent holiday and our little boy loved it!!!! Although we wouldn't go back to the hotel as we would like to try the vincci which is closer to the lovely San blas shopping centre (a must visit whilst over there as they have the best crepperie and lovely little shops!) I would highly recommend!
“loved this hotel”
Colling111, Buncrana, Irlanda
this hotel was clean modern, and one of the best we stayed in.The room was spacious and well equipped for every need,we went self catering and there was everything you need.the area was quiet a few bars within walking distance eating out was very reasonable, would recommend aberdeen angus full english breakfast 2.99 and 3 course meal 7.95 very good value also good food at o'donnells irish bar a few metres away.San Blas a km away more bars and restraunts but still quiet resort.lovely walks along the sea front and a must is to have a drink in the bar at the marina taking in the views,so peaceful and relaxing. we used the local bus service to las america's and los christianos bus stops just outside the hotel.my only downfall for this area is there is no sandy beach. We didnt mind the low flying aircrafts, will definately go again
“Great Time In The Sun”
We have recently returned from a 7 night self-catering stay at the Golf Plaza and had a great time. We were warmly welcomed by reception staff and our 1 bedroom apartment was large and spotless. The kitchen was well equipped with cutlery, glasses, plates etc. The apartment was cleaned every day and we cannot praise the cleaning staff highly enough. Our apartment (314) faced the road at the front and the balcony was great to watch the sun rising. Other reviewers have mentioned the planes overhead, but you get used to this and the noise only lasts a few seconds. The pool / sun area had enough loungers for everyone and plenty of parasols and was a great place to enjoy the sun from. We also enjoyed the chance to use the spa free of charge to do the sensation circuit including jacuzzi and sauna. In terms of getting groceries, although you are offered 10% discount at the next door supermarket, it is expensive and you are better going to the one 5-10 mins away next to the Wild Geese Irish Pub (cut through the Winter Gardens just down the road). There are restaurants within a 5-10 minute walk and a (another) good Irish pub 100 yards away. The only downside for us was the poor entertainment (we tried 3 shows and lasted no longer than 15 minutes at any one of them) as they were poor and no effort seemed to be made (go to either of the Irish pubs or San Blas for night time entertainment). However overall we had a fab time and would definitely consider going back.
“Spacious accommodation - very clean and comfortable”
MikeBGardner, Bridgwater, Reino Unido
Enjoyed our stay here, very clean, comfortable accommodation in a one bedroom apartment with a pool/seaview. Excellent housekeeping. Pool area very good, pool bar food and service very good. Bar/Cafe at front of hotel also very good and amazing value. Only downside is that unless you are a keen aircraft spotter you might find aircraft noise and visuals a bit intrusive! You do get used to it however and we would come back.
“Great value for money hotel”
LesleyMar... , Marbella
We stayed at this hotel for one week from 21 May to today on bed and breakfast tariff. We found the staff most helpful and the apartment very spacious. Received daily maid service and the room was spotless. Disappointed that for 6 days the airconditoning did not function, but this was rectified. Also the pool was not heated during this week. I understand from guests that the evening food was not very varied, but there are numerous restaurants in the immediate area which are outstanding value for money and good quality. We would come back to this hotel in the near future.
“A good place for families”
miamia71, Sandnes, Noruega
Stayed in a spacious room (2 bedr., 2 baths) with my husband and daughter for one week during Easter. We had a very nice stay. Room was thouroughly cleaned every day. Coffee maker broke down the second day, was replaced with brand new one after 15 minutes (!) Pool area was nice and clean, always enough sun loungers. Activities for children every day (water polo, table tennis etc..). As for food quality I can only review breakfast, which was what you can expect from a 4 * tourist hotel; plenty of food but no gourmet standard. I brought my own OJ (the sugary watered-down substance in the so called "juice machine" is not good) and made my own coffee in the room after breakfast. Coffee in the hotel bar is excellent, though. There are several nice restaurants/pubs near the hotel. The Irish pub 50 m up the street (Grandee O'Donnell) serves good food and has a nice atmosphere. Down by the waterfront there are several ok restaurants. Check out Harbour Light (British cook) which serves good food (lovely homemade desserts) and has good service. Yes, as other reviewers point out, the hotel is directly under the flight path. But the planes didn't bother us much. There's a rush in the morning and late afternoon, but no/few planes during the night. The nearby golf course, The Amerych,is very nice.
“apparthotel CORDIAL GOLF PLAZA”
“Very clean and spacious apartments in quiet resort”
Lorna098, Edimburgo, Reino Unido
I have just returned from a 10 night stay at the Golf Plaza Spa Resort and really enjoyed my stay. My friend and I found our 1 bedroom apartment to be spacious, clean and in good condition. We went self catering although didn't use our kitchen at all as it was always our intention to eat out morning noon and night. However, for those of you who would plan to eat/cook in your apartment I can confirm that it was very well equipped: fridge (with small freezer box), 2 ring ceramic hob, oven, kettle (yes, proper kettle!) and toaster. The reception staff were sometimes a bit unhelpful but we never found them to be rude, per se, just not the most forthcoming when it comes to being helpful. We didn't use the spa so can't comment on that. There are 2 pools - one is BALTIC and one is heated. Both very clean and well maintained, as is the surrounding pool area. We favoured some sun loungers up on a slightly higher deck at the far end of the complex, away from the families (ie, away from kids). Never had any issues with getting a sunlounger. You can get clean pool towels everyday from reception. 10 euro deposit per towel and you get your money back at the end of your stay. The immediate surrounding area is pleasant with about a dozen or so restaurants/bars to choose from and if you walk about 10 mins down the road towards the harbour then there are more tapas places and sort of 'typical holiday restaurants' down by the marina. My friend and I found a fantastic Irish Bar - Grandee O'Donnell which is a 3 minute walk from the apartments when you turn left and walk up the way. They served very fresh food, very tasty and massive portions. We ended up eating there quite a lot at lunchtimes and were never let down - everything was fab! The apartments are directly under a flight path and some days (Fridays in particular) there are lots of planes flying overhead (approx every 7 mins or so at some points). That said, by the time you hear a plan it's only about 10 seconds or so before it's gone so the noise is short lived. We weren't kept awake by the noise so I'm thinking it couldn't have been too bad. We were in room P11 - suggest you request another room if you want an early night. It is situated next to the piano bar and the noise carries quite a bit. We closed our bedroom door but you could still hear the noise sometimes. However, it seems to stop around half midnight which is fine. More bars and restaurants to sample at San Blas which is 4 mins away by taxi (set fare of 4 euro) or about twenty minute walk. Recommend The Wigan Tree which serves a very tasty braised steak with onion gravy - melt the mouth beef, lovely! The resort is close enough to PDL Americas (about twenty mins in taxi) at around 20 euro cost. So, if you're looking for a lively night out then head along there, otherwise the bars and restaurants in Golf Del Sur are ideal for leisurely drinks. Volares Showbar is open late into the small hours and serves decent priced cocktails so is worth a visit. There are 3 computers in reception which cost 1 euro for 15 mins on the internet. However, these seemed quite unreliable and a couple of them were out of order for a few days. You can, however, use Wifi in reception so if you take your laptop with you then there shouldn't be any issues. Wifi cost is 10 cents for 2 minutes, so 1 euro for 20 minutes. There are only 3 English speaking channels available on the televisions in the room. We checked with reception, thinking that we needed retuned but alas not. So, we were kept up to speed with all the news on CNN and BBC World News! To sum up, if you are looking for a nice, clean, well maintained and spacious apartment situated in a quiet resort (apart from the planes) then this is a good location and the actual complex is really nice. My friend and I would come back again because we had a really nice relaxing time away from all the hustle and bustle of PDL Americas/Los Cristianos and we got a good deal.
“Lovely hotel, helpful friendly staff”
Just returned from a four night break with 2 girlfriends, so impressed with the hotel, it is so spacious, we had a one bed apartment with twin beds in the bedroom and lounge although the lounge ones doubled as the sofa. Small fully equipped kitchen and lovely marble bathroom. The apartment had 2 Romeo and Juliette style balconies and one huge corner balcony with table and chairs. Daily maid service. We chose the all inclusive option and the food was nice but 'samey' after a few days. 10 minute taxi ride from the airport (15 Euros) Entertainment was not too great :0( The hotel is directly under the flight path and aircraft noise is pretty constant but no night flights. Did get woken by a 6am plane though.
“A good, clean hotel, excellent value for money”

This hotel is very good in many respects. It is very well maintained, clean and good value for money. The rooms are very spacious, very well maintained and cleaned immaculately every day. The pool area is good but the water in the pools is a bit cold. The staff in the restaurant are great, very hard working and really make the effort especially with children. The reception staff are a mixed bunch. Some are very cheerful and helpful some less so. When we arrived we were struggling with lots of bags and a young child and they did not ask if we needed any help which wasn't a great welcome. The hotel also says it has a kids club but when we arrived we were told there wasn't one. The food is pretty good. It's not haute cuisine, a bit canteen like but there's always something nice to eat, lots of fresh salads, fruit etc We went half board which is perfect I think if we'd have gone all inclusive it would have been too repetitive. The only slight disadvantage of the hotel is the location in our opinion. It says it's near a beach but the beach nearby is very small and it's very generous to call it a beach. Also there is a small promenade you can walk along but it's nothing special and not very accessible. To get to a beach or have a nice walk you need to hire a car or get the bus. The bus to Las Americas and Los Cristianos is very easy and convenient however. We much preferred with a young child the beach at Los Cristianos. There was a really nice mix of people of all ages, nationalities at the hotel which we really enjoyed. Also my husband complained about the TV and lack of channels but that didn't bother me. When you are booking trips with the travel agent attached to the the hotel beware. We booked a half day trip to Mount Teide as we have a young child who couldn't cope with a full day. The half day trip turned out to be from 7.40am - 3.45pm as we had to pick up and drop off at about 15 hotels which really took away from the enjoyment of the trip. The man in the travel agent said we would be back about 1.30pm. We also went to aqualand through the same travel agent and a similar situation happened again. The man at the travel agent said it would take 30 mins to get there and it took 1 hour 30 mins because of all the other hotel pick ups. Overall though a good holiday in a good hotel.

An apartment with 1 bedroom and a sunny balcony was our "home" for two weeks (self-catering). Excellent service from the staff : cleaning, technical and reception. The Golf del Sur area was not so crowded as Las Americas and Los Christianos and we had a good time and many good walks in this area. Rent a car and you are close to the Highway and Teide is "watching" you and invites to closer friendship !! A super first visit in Tenerife Andreasen, Sønderborg, Denmark

Nice Hotel/staff/cleaning, what you would expect from a 4 star hotel, and still not expensive. Only minus is the aeroplanes landing or taking off just over the roof, but they usually do not do at night. It did not bother me a lot, got used to it, would still go back. San Miguel is a bit remote, but that is what I wanted, away from the tourist getto. A couple of degrees colder than in Playa de las americas and a little more windy. Gotta have a rental car, I can recommend Cicar.
“Lovely week in the sun”
mezza1101, Surrey, UK
Just returned from the Cordial Golf Plaza. Upon arrival we were given the key to apartment 224. This was on the second floor. It was very spacious and well equipped. It was cleaned every day with clean towels every day and the beds were changed during the week too. The view from our apartment was of the pool area and out towards the sea and got the lovely late afternoon sun. The pool area was nice with plenty of sunbeds. There is a bus stop outside the accommodation. the 470 and 483 go to Los Cristianos. If possible get the 483 it is quicker and cheaper but does not run as often as the 470. There are some restaurants within a 5 minute walk of the accommodation including the Rendezvous Restaurant (Winter Gardens) which was delicious. Also the Green Park Pizza restaurant which made the best pizza ever. As mentioned by other people this accommodation is in the flight path but this did not bother us one bit, There were no flights during the night. For a quiet week in the sun I would reccommend the Golf Plaza.
“Tolles Hotel leider sehr laut”
cornelia044 , Oer-Erkenschwick

Didn't know what to really expect, but was very happy with what we found. we thought the hotel looked lovely. Room was massive and very clean. staff were really helpful and food was simple but very nice. Plenty of sunbeds around a nice pool. we both thought it was value for money and a very enjoyable stay.
“Excellent Hotel, don't be put off by the food!”
debbiet244, Northern Ireland
This is a fantastic hotel. Staff really friendly. Rooms spacious, clean and comfortable. Swimming pool area clean, tidy and good. We were all inclusive - breakfast and lunch okay but dinner at night led a lot to be desired. If you like fish and pork and turkey mince - this is the place for you. I enjoyed the all inclusive as it meant we got everything free and drinks until 12 o'clock which were very generous measures with extremely friendly and attentive bar staff. At 11.30 though you have to go inside as Golf Del Sur is a residental area of Tenerife, so you cannot make much noise after this. Evening entertainment was fine for children though we were not interested as see one parrot show, seen them all! Oh yes, you get a complimentary spa treatment for 2 hours day after your arrival - this was great and a good start to wind down on the holiday! All in all - lovely hotel would recommend it and if you want free drink go for all inclusive but you will do like us and eat out a few evenings which isn't badly priced - 3 course meal in Aberdeen steak house 10 minutes walk away was only 7.95 euro each!!!
“Nice Hotel pity about the food”
queensferry , Edinburgo, Reino Unido
We stayed in this hotel for the first 2 week in October. The hotel is really nice and spotlessly clean. The apartments are huge and the maid service is excellent. The pool area is also kept clean and there were plenty of beds and brolleys. The bar and restaurant staff were all very helpful and friendly. We were not treated any differently from guests who were not all inclusive. This may be different in the height of the season when the hotel is full but October is a good time to go as it is still very hot and not so busy. The only thing that lets this hotel down is the food. It is definitely not 4 star. Some nights it was okay but a lot of the time food was cold and there wasn't a lot of choice. Overall though if you want a week in a quiet area of Tenerife and are not a fussy eater then give it a try. We met loads of nice people and had many a laugh in the Street bar (club 62 you will know who you are)

“great relaxing holiday in lovely location”
bigbananas , northampton
Far exceeded expectations following prev reviews read. This hotel is friendly, clean and in lovley location. Close to the airport but this did not cause problems. Staff were very friendly. Rooms cleaned daily and spotless. Everything you need. Complimentary tickets to Spa adjoining inc in all inclusive package. Pool side towels can be changed daily with a small refundable deposit. Loads of sun loungers and umbrellas. Wide variety of food choice and despite me being very fussy eater. Poolside bar serving ice cream, drinks pizza and toasted sandwiches in the afternoon. Excellant location with bus stop just outside to go to Christianos and Americas at very cheap fares. Local shops within 10 min walk. No beach but 10 min walk to pebble cove. Sea view from hotel. a few markets nearby inc fridays in golf del sur. Only thing to fault is the evening entertainment but great for kids and something on each night. Few bars inc irish ones within 5 min walk. All 4 in my group which ranged from 21,28,42 and 50 had great relaxing holiday
