We spent our 2 weeks Christmas break at Cordial Green Bungalows and we loved it there. These lovely colorful bungalows are located in a quiet part of Maspalomas which makes it a perfect place for a relaxing stay. I was so happy we didn't go for a big hotel in a crowded noisy place! Our bungalow was just by the pool and it was facing south so we enjoyed the sun in our patio all day. We requested a bungalow by the pool when booking our stay through Travel Republic and although it wasn't guaranteed we got it so that was a nice start of our stay there. Our flight was 4.5 hours late due to a bad weather conditions and so we arrived very late at night. A nice staff member at the reception was awaiting us and checked us is quickly and smoothly. Reception staff was actually very helpful all the time, dealing with any questions or requests very kindly and efficiently. E.g. when we had a problem with a bedroom window the reception sent a nice handy man within half an hour to get it fixed. Our bungalow was very clean, comfortable enough for 3 people and well equipped for self catering guests. In the kitchen you can find all the basics for simple meals preparation e.g. pans, glasses, cutlery, electric oven, coffee machine, fridge etc. On arrival we actually decided not to cook so we bought meals tickets for few days at the reception: breakfast was 7.50 euros per person and lunch / dinner was 20 euro per person. Buffets offer a good choice of food however they seem to be a bit overpriced. They also don't really give you the opportunity to taste the local food. And they become a bit boring if you eat there for more than few days. With Faro 2 shopping center just minutes away I would say it's cheaper and easy enough to fix your own breakfast and then eat out in the evening. For the same or lower price you can get much more variety. E.g. go to Cho Juanillo restaurant in the Faro 2 - it's on the second floor and offers very nice food as well as great views over the mountains. There are also plenty of restaurants for all wallets along the boulevard near the lighthouse. As I said the bungalow was very clean and even though there were some small signs of tear and wear inside it didn't bother us at all because of the good maintenance. We had a daily maid service, towels were changed every other day, bed linen was changed few times during 14 days. One tip: bring some soap with you as there is none provided. You will also need to buy some washing up liquid. There is no air-con but the ceiling fans were absolutely fine at this time of the year (temperature around 22-25C in December). We rented a safe which was placed in the wardrobe (13 euros per week plus a refundable deposit of 10 euros - we thought the price was quite fair for a peace of mind it gives you). You can also rent a TV and a wireless internet was free. When we rented a car we could get a parking space in front of the complex for free. There are 2 swimming pools in the complex and one of them was heated. They were cleaned every morning. There were plenty of sun beds around the pools and there seemed to be no problems with getting one. We didn't spend all days in the complex as we were exploring the island, driving around, going for trips to the mountains etc however it was great to be able to come back there after a long day in the sun and enjoy a quiet evening on the patio by the pool. We were not really looking for a night entertainment however I know that every other day there were some evening shows organized in the restaurant. As other reviews say it takes around 20-30 minutes to get to the dunes and a lighthouse or around 4 euros by taxi. There are also free buses running to the beach. Overall the whole 2 weeks at Cordial Green were excellent and we would definitely stay there again if we come back to Gran Canaria. Nice, clean place, helpful staff, quiet location, no hassle so that we could enjoy our precious 2 weeks in the sun on this beautiful island - it was all we were looking for and we got it in 100%.

I had 6 nights here and would recommend to people. The complex, in my opinion, is well situated, I was in bungalow number 25, it was nice and peaceful. As it was December, they appeared not to be using the apartments that were north facing and beside the road, I can understand people's annoyance if they were here in summer and got one of these apartments! I could walk to the Faro Shopping Centre in 5 minutes or the beach in Maspalomas in around 20. The local buses are excellent and was only €1.20 to get to PDI. The kitchens are small but i don't go on holiday to cook! It was perfectly sufficient for my needs, I took a small travel electric kettle and didn't need to use the one provided for the hob! Maybe some folk get annoyed about having to rent the TV but again, I don;t go on holiday to watch TV! I found the fixtures and fittings modern and the apartments were clean. i had no issue with any beasties in the room! The shower room was great and I always had enough hot water for 2 showers a day. Beds were comfy but seemed to move a lot on the wheels! Lovely patio area and also a balcony upstairs. Swimming pool (heated) was excellent, lovely to go and cool down in it after a day in the sun. Gardens are well maintained. I only went into reception to check in and out and both occasions were fine, I didn't use the bar or eat at the complex. The on site supermarket was fine for basics, I didn't agree with others that it was massively over-priced. The maids visited every day apart from Christmas day, my sheets and towels were changed every 2nd day. Sofa in the living room was comfy, I managed a wee nap on it! I booked the accomodation myself, not thro any travel agent and had no issues at all. It is a 2 star establishment and I felt it was better than that, it looked a heck of a lot better than a lot of places I walked past, I will most definately return another time. It suited me and what I was looking for, if you want to go abroad and be able to cook a 5 course meal, watch TV and be waited on hand and foot then don;t go here!

The complex was very clean very pretty. Just like the pictures if not even better. Took my parents and gf to celebrate my 30th birthday and everyone was full of praise for "Green Golf" it was much better than all the other apartments / hotels we walked past. Excellent beach easy walk away 15-25mins. Allot of nudes though and current is strong. Cheap taxis everywhere and nice food by the lighthouse in Faro. All in all we had a lovely time. We were lucky and had an apartmant by the pool which was a bonus but honestly they all looked nice and effort had been made to plant flowers etc around the whole complex. My only criticism was that there was no soap in the toilets (male and female) in the bar / pool area which is unacceptable and was a shame otherwise it would of got top marks because everthing else is brilliant. Anyone who complains about this place needs a reality check because for the money we paid Thomson, a few hundred each, it was amazing value.

very clean and well presented apartments. Some in the sun and some in the shade, thats life. Would advise to go whatever age etc. Only one drawback is the price of the on site supermarket-very expensive, but get away from the pool and walk to a near by supermarket in Faro two. Restaurants at Faro (lighthouse turn right ) very good. On this of many occasions have noticed vast price increase coupled with the exchange rate.

I stayed at the Green Golf 2 years ago and enjoyed it so much I stayed there again this year. Lovely bright, clean apartments within walking distance of the dunes/camel rides and plenty of restaurants nearby. Courtesy buses to the beach and to Playes De Ingles though its only a 20/30 minute walk down to the beach. We went self-catering though there is a half board option - we went for the buffet one night which was okay but nothing special - much better to eat out for the same price (12.50 euros each). Would definately recommend for a quiet holiday - but if you prefer the nightlife then Playes de Ingles would suit you better.

Really nice appartments on two storeys. Maid service excellent. We didn't use the restaurant although it looked good. Pool area clean - pools excellent. Facilities for self catering are good. Decent shop on site. Faro 2 Supermarket only 5 mins away. Beach at Maspalomas, Meloneras and Centre of Playa del Ingles all only 2km walk away. Taxi's only £3.50 - £4, and are everywhere. Free bus to beach, although we walked back most days, although it is probably too far for most people. Nearest restaurants at Faro 2, and are reasonable. Plenty of really good restaurants at Meloneras, which also have entertainment. A must at sunset time. Yumbo Centre also has lots of bars and restaurants - very gay in evenings and quite raunchy. Go with an open mind and you will have fun. Resort was quiet in October (due to downturn??) as were the appartments. All nationalities present which was nice - Scandanavian majority. Beach at Maspalomas is huge and is mostly nude ( also a gay section), as are the dunes. It was beautiful weather when we were there (sunny 26 - 32 degs every day) and beach was popular, although its so big you can have a section to yourself. Be aware that part of the dunes is a definite cruising area - this is quite openly practiced. We hired a car for a day and toured the island. The interior is really mountainous with superb views, although clouds can appear from nowhere. West Coast Road is a must. Maspalomas is a fabulous resort with something for everyone and I would recommend it. We shall definitely be going back.

This place is a wee hidden gem. Beautiful setting with two brilliant pools to choose from. We went on a two wk trip and feel a lot more relaxedand healthy for it. The staff are fantastic and if i could have those housemaids in my hotel I would be a happy man. Hardest job in the house and they really do work their socks off. If you dont enjoy the cordial green then I'm afraid the problem lies with you and not the establishment. Would recommend to anyone and we are already planning next years trip for a month this time. Cant wait

The Cordial Green Golf apartments are a great place to stay. I went with my girlfriend in August 2009, and found the apartments to be well kept, modern, and very clean. We had a road facing apartment which many of the reviews on here complain about. Both my girlfriend and I didn't find the noise from the road all that annoying, it was mainly in the early morning you would hear the traffic go past. I guess if you live in a town or city you are used to this anyway. We spent little time in our apartment as the call of the pool and exploring the local area was too much. There are two pools, both large and lovely to swim/laze in. The staff we dealt with were very pleasant and helpful. We sampled the hotel food on two nights and some lunchtimes and found it to be fine, not 5* dinning but it was good nonetheless. Taxi's are easy to come by outside of the hotel and cost 3-4 euros to most local areas in Maspalomas and Playa del Ingles. My girlfriend and I found that Meleronas was a lovely place with great restaurants by the beach. The only downside to the apartments is there is no air conditioning. There is a roof fan downstairs and up in the bedroom but they don't really cool the rooms too well as their maximum speed was quite slow! I think in that heat you really need air conditioning so that you feel comfortable when you go back to your room. Thats why I am giving the hotel 4 stars and not 5. That said, it was still bearable, your body just gets used to it.

Booked this as a cheap and cheerful last minute package so expectation wasn't too high. As it turns out that didn't really matter as the place was great. We had a one bed bungalow which slept up to three. Downstairs there is a small lounge/kitchenette with sofa that is big enough to sleep one. Upstairs were the bathroom (shower, basin, toilet) and a twin room with balcony. The bungalows are relatively new so they were in good condition and spotlessly clean. Outside there was a small garden and seating area overlooking the pool. There were two pools both of which were exceptionally clean. The location is a bit further out than you might want if you are going for the nightlife but a taxi to Yumbo was about €3.50 (or a walk of about half an hour). We got a taxi most nights which was fine and plenty drive by so they're really easy to hail. It's also really near to the dunes and beach of Maspalomas.

My boyfriend and I , both 23 stayed at the cordial green golf in May 2008. We had a brilliant time there. We were really pleasently surprised with the accomodation. The bungallows were very clean and nicely decorated. The pool area was lovely, with 2 very big swimming pools and the complex was very quiet for our entire stay. I would recommend anyone to stay in Maspalomas rather than Playa del Ingles when going to Gran Canaria. As a young couple we did want to have a few nights out on the town and considered staying where all the action was in Playa del Ingles. Im so glad we didn't, I didnt like the place at all. The cordial was only a short cheap taxi ride away so you can easily go there if you want, we didnt go back after going out there once! I would highly recommend the cordial green golf bungalows to anyone.

Just returned from our second visit to the Green Golf and all I can say is that i'm already looking forward to our next holiday there. This complex is so relaxing and quiet, perfect to unwind and relax. There are 2 large pools and a childrens pool, plenty of sun loungers and even sheltered areas. The gardeners and maintence people do an amazing job as this complex is beautiful and spotless. The accomadation is perfect, if a bit small. The kitchen is well stocked, with fridge and cooker and has almost everything one would need....except an electric kettle, kettle supplied has to be boiled on the cooker. We didn't hire a tv, I do know there is only 1 english news channel and anyway a break from all the 'recession' talk is wonderful! The bathroom and bedroom are located upstairs where you also have a little balcony. The bedroom is a bit on the small size but beds are comfortable and there is good wardrobe space. Hire a safe from reception, costs €23 and €10 is returned when you check out. We never ate in the restaurant so I can't comment. The supermarket is expensive but fine for water and the basics, we found the supermarket in the Faro 2 shopping centre(just 5 min walk) much better value with a great selection of good....try the pate and cheeses form the deli counter! Maspalomas and Playa Del Ingles beach are just a quick free bus trip away and just €3-€4 in a taxi. Nightlife was very quiet when we were there but we did go to Roma on Playa Del Ingles beach a couple of nights to see the free Elvis show (on every night at 11pm).....great fun and if you are a real die-hard fan have your photo taken with Elvis AKA Tom after the show...He is excellent and such a nice guy! We had a fantasic time and i would recommed Green Golf to anybody!

well maintained bungalows with 2 large swimming pools, plenty of sun loungers if you want to chill out by the pool, we went bed + breakfast, breakfast was available until 10.30 with a good choice of food! never had dinner/lunch there so can't comment on that, we hired a car for the week so seen most of the island including the capital city of las palmas, also went up the mountain roads seen the caves and scenery, taxi from the bungalows to the main resort of playa del ingles or maspalomas was only 3euro so not a great expense. would go back to these bungalows, seen some previous comments on north facing rooms so would probably try and get south facing if you were going to sit in your veranda all day!

this place was fantastic the complex has 2 big swimming pools with plenty of space and sunloungers so you could always get a place by the pol. we were lucky and had a bungalow that faced out to the pool. our little boy loved it. it was very easy to get about in gran canaria we hired a car so saw alot of the island which is probably a better way to do it, the only problem is there was not much parking at the hotel in the summer months could be more of a problem. our bungalow was compact but we were rarely in there and it was only for 2 weeks so you can deal with it. the food accross whole island was not great but again its 2 weeks, the weather and beaches more than made up for bad food. and dont think its any more expensive than any where in euro at the moment.

hey all just returned from our stay at this fantastic place, upon arrival at the grren golf the recpeption was spotless and modern with staff who could speak perfect english and was only too happy to help. check in was quick and all the information needed was given to you right away, the bungalows were spotless and modernly decorated. optional safe in the bungalow if needed which definately i would advise as we spoke to a family who had 300 pounds stolen from their room as they didnt hire a safe. the cost is only 13 euros for the week with a 10 euro returnable deposit. the grounds and the swimming pool were spotless and the pool was warm enough to swim all day in, as our little girl showed us we couldnt get her out fo it lol. cant stress enough how great this place is and if it wasnt for the euro we would definately go back. maspalomas itself is quite baron, not alot to do unless you want to pay extortionate price with the rep. we was gonna book the camel rides with the rep, for my wife, daughter and i was gonna cost 78 pounds, we strolled down the place which is on the way to the beach and it cost us 32 pounds, massive difference. the evening entertainment was ok but not brilliant but was something to do. we went self catering but as the week went on we found ourselves eating in the restaurant every night at a price of 25 euros and our daughter free. was the cheapest option and definately the best as the food was really good, barbecue night on wednesdays and the meat is fantastic. the euro is really killing this place as a loaf of bread was 3 pounds 50. please take as much food etc with you as you can or you will be stung once in resort.

We stayed here for a week in April and were very impressed. The bungalows are actually not bungalows at all but are small 2 storey apartments. While our 2-3 person apartment was compact (be prepeared for some shuffling around each other up in the bedroom), it was very clean, modern and quite funky in its decor. We were lucky enough to face out on to one of the pools. Every apartment has a tiny garden and patio at the front which is perfect for munching your breakfast or having an evening drink or 7. Upstairs the bathroom was light with a huge mirror - which for once didn't make me look like I'd been dead 6 weeks. There was no bath but the shower pressure was great - although it got a bit tiresome after I turned off the water with my bottom for the 2,000th time. The pools are lovely. I found them very cold but it's not a complaint really. I think I'm just feeble. I particularly loved the fact that I only had to stumble approx. 5 yards back to my apartment at the end of the day. My one tip for the complex is to take a lilo or padded sunlounging mat with you because we found the sunloungers incredibly uncomfortable. I needed a knee replacement after day one. I know other people felt the same because so many of us were using lilos bought in the minimarket on site to improve them. In general though the whole pool/sunbathing area is lovely. As other reviewers have mentioned, most of our fellow holidaymakers were German but I liked that because they were all pleasant and well behaved! We had a couple of things in our apartment that needed fixing (a fuse blew, a couple of wall switches were broken) and although it was 7.30 pm when we reported the problems, someone came and sorted them immediately. Very impressive. The minimarket on site and the supermarket at the Faro 2 centre are extortionately priced. Take the essentials with you. It was £2 for a bottle of diet coke, £2 for a medium-sized bag of crisps and I ended up spending £17 purely on bread, milk, cheese, cornflakes and water. We didn't manage to find a cheap supermarket anywhere so just ended up living on bread and cheese! Yes the Faro centre (a few shops and restaurants) is a 7-10 min walk away but I didn't rate it. It was quite tacky/seedy. You're better off getting a taxi in to Playa Del Ingles or down to the beach area of Maspalomas (Faro De Maspalomas) for dinner. (Like another reviewer I recommend El Gaucho Steak House in PDI) Taxis are easily hailed from right outside the hotel but it was a shame there weren't nice bars/shops within closer walking distance. HOWEVER - this was a price I was happy to pay to be away from the tackier areas of PDI / Maspalomas. Overall we loved our holiday and I would recommend The Cordial Green Golf to anyone wanting a quiet, relaxing laze in the sun. It was comfortable, clean and for the price quite chic I thought. It exceeded my expectations.

An Expedia Traveler,
Super Möglichkeit zum Relaxen und Erholen. Animation gibt es nicht. Absolute Ruhe, ausschlafen gewährleistet. Essen war o.k. Bewirtung immer freundlich.

We have just (this morning) arrived back from a week at the Cordial Green Golf Bungalows in Maspalomas. We went as a small group, my wife and I and our 3 year old son, and a couple of our friends and their 2 year old daughter. Booked via First Choice, the complex was recommended by the extremely helpful sales rep in their Staines travel shop, who pre-booked our seats together on the flights, and two adjacent pool-view bungalows. We had an excellent holiday. The complex is relatively quiet, very clean, very welcoming and well placed for the beach at Maspalomas. Anyone looking for more than a relaxing sun-sea-sand-pool style holiday should probably look elsewhere. The accommodation 'Bungalows' they are not! Each unit is on two floors, twin bedroom and shower room/loo upstairs and living room/kitchenette downstairs, with a sofa that sleeps one (six foot) adult. There is space for a standard sized travel cot in the bedroom if the twin beds are pushed together (our friends' daughter used one all week). Plenty of room for a small family or 3 adults sharing. With three of everything in the crockery cupboard, they are clearly not designed for more! The bungalows were extremely clean on arrival, and we witnessed the next door bungalow being cleaned while we were waiting to leave, and they do a 'proper job'! Towels were provided and they and the bedding were changed regularly. Daily maid service in the week, which included washing the floors. TVs are available, but have to be paid for, so we didn't bother. Having small children with us, we took the half board option so can't really comment on the facilities for self catering, but with only two electric rings and a toaster, eating out would probably be preferable! However even on half board it was excellent to have a fridge, kettle and toaster on hand to rustle up a cup of tea or a snack for hungry kids, or parents! Complex For once the place looks exactly as it does in the brochures, or Cordial's own website! The bungalows are situated around two big (for this sort of resort) pools, some facing towards them, some away (either facing the road or the fantastic golf course next door). I would suggest asking for a pool view, or if that isn't your thing a view of the golf course for maximum peace! The pools themselves were excellent. Cleaned every day, you couldn't fault them. One was heated, but even the unheated one was perfectly usable after you got over the first cold shock, and kept moving! In addition to the two main pools there was a small 'baby' pool, which was also heated. However, the pool heating was switched off at the end of March (halfway through our stay) whilst the very hot weather meant this didn't matter, the baby pool became a little chilly for anything more than a quick splash about before running for the towels. Around the pools and bungalows the gardens are well-kept and add a nice splash of colour. Each bungalow has a small 'terrace' area in front of it encircled by a low (flowering) hedge, and has climbing plants, also flowering, above the French windows. Overall the complex felt clean, well looked after and safe. Food As said above, we took the half board option. Given the parlous state of the £ at the moment, it was probably quite a bit cheaper than eating out for a week! Many reviewers on here seem to dislike the food at the complex, but we thought it was OK. Not Cordon Bleu, but you are not paying that kind of price. Given the large number of German and Scandinavian guests in Gran Canaria, the food did tend towards their tastes. There was a large selection on offer at breakfast, including sliced meats, cheese and breads, as well as croissants, cereals, plenty of fruit or a full fry-up. For dinner there were usually three or four (or more) main course choices, either fish, pasta or meat, plus salad bar and sundry cold platters for starters. Sweets were a bit limited, usually to one choice (usually fruit based) or ice-cream, but the ice-cream was lovely, and a hit with the kids! Wednesday night was BBQ night, and that was particularly good. Vegetarian, however, may want to go self-catering. Canarian food isn't well known for it's veggie options, and this was no exception. Even the side vegetable dishes invariably contained some meat sprinkled through them! There was always plenty of food, nobody stopped you going back for seconds, and it was always hot (in contradiction to some other reviews - including one person who it appears was there the exact same week we were!). Service Excellent. The reception staff were very helpful, and everyone on the complex, from the waiting staff to the pool staff and bungalow cleaners seemed very friendly and helpful, and many always said a cheery 'hola' to adults and children alike. In answer to some more negative reviews, I can only think that it helps if you treat them as people and not servants. Entertainment Not top-notch but quite fun in a cheesy way. Having very young children we did not see much of it, but the lady who ran a little disco for the kids twice in the week was great, and the children loved it. During weekdays there is a 'mini-club' - not much more than a few tables for the younger kids to sit at and draw stuff, but to be honest given the pools and the beach, why would they want anything else? Locality From the complex it is only about 20 minutes' walk (with pushchairs) to the beach at Maspalomas. This is excellent, with fine clean sand, lots of sun loungers and parasols if you want them, the usual cheesy seafront shops and some nice-looking restaurants and bars. There is a regular free coach from outside the complex to the beach, useful if you can't face the walk, or it's just too hot. Another free coach takes you into Playa des Ingles, if you are looking for that sort of thing. The beach there is also excellent (with fine views of the famous dunes). The nearest 'shopping centre' to the complex is Faro 2. Stand on the top of the steps outside Reception and you can see it. It has a decent supermarket - cheaper than the small one in the complex, which is just full of imported German food, priced accordingly. Faro 2 also has a number of restaurants and bars, although we didn't sample them. It has a bit of a run-down look and feel, which is a shame, but is handy for food shopping. The best shopping centre we found was on the sea front in Maspalomas. Walking past the lighthouse along the promenade, it's on your right. A good selection of shops and another supermarket (although it's too far to carry those big bottles of water back to the complex!). So in all, we though it was an excellent family holiday. If you want to relax in the sun, I would definitely recommend the Green Golf Bungalows for that sort of thing.

The green golf has maintained its high standards since we were last there, have just returned and often revisiting a place you really enjoyed can be a hugh disappointment but not for us. The staff have continued to maintain their standards from reception to cleaning/maintenance personnel. As hoteliers in the UK we are fastidious about the cleanliness and the bungalow and complex met our standards. The Green golf is value for money - you get more in our opinion than expected , the pool and gardens are beautiful with plenty of space and sunbeds to relax and enjoy , we wanted peace and quiet and got that. The only moan is the cost outside the complex -prices have shot up - be warned especially in the supermarkets watch out and try and find a spar if you can as they were the most reasonable. Eating out is reasonable but shop around and watch for the drink prices 2euro50 for small water which can be bought for 0.25 in spar - gone are the days of large spirits and little prices !! Finally this place suits those who want peace and relaxation yet is close enough to walk to bars /restaurants and gives you value .

We stayed at the Green Golf for 2 weeks. Dec 27th to Jan 10th. "The Bungalow & Facilities" Overall I would recommend this place to anyone for a quiet relaxing break with or without kids. It is close to nightlife as well so if you are not wanting to stay in the middle of the hustle and bustle and would like a bit of both it is perfect. Bungalows were very clean and just the right space. The bungalows are terraced two storeys with kitchen/sitting room downstairs and bedroom and washroom upstairs. They were cleaned each day except the main public holidays which we didn't mind as we didn't expect somebody to be up on New Years morning to dress or bed. There are two large pools and two seperate pools for young children all were cleaned each day. One was slightly heated which was nice as at this time of year the water is quite cold. Another reviewer said they did not know if it was heated or not...ok it was a bit chilly to get in at first but once in it was great and yes it is heated. I have yet to get into a very warm pool when it's in Winter unless it's a hot tub. We didn't eat within the main area as we tended to go out every night around Playa de Linges and around the Maspalomas Light House area so I can't comment on the complex food. The complex also has it's own supermarket but unless you are just badly in need of one or two things I wouldn't shop there as its expensive. In response to another reviewers comment that it was noisy I can say the complete opposite, although all the surrounding bungalows were in use we had no problems with noise levels. Half of bungalows face each other with the pool in the middle and at the back they face the golf course. Towards the front some face onto a private road especially for the hotel and running parrallel outside of this is the public road but this leads to a dead end so traffic is minimal. "Shopping" As mentioned the complex minimarket is expensive. We did our shopping in Faro2, 5 - 10minute walk away, which was cheaper but be aware, some foreign items are priced very high so make sure you know the price of the item before you buy. In Faro 2 there are a number of shops including a sports shop, jewellery shop, restaurants, bars, entertainment, internet access etc. Anything you need basically. As this is a tourist destination be prepared to pay tourist prices however. For more shopping Playa de Linges is a €4.50 taxi ride away and has a large selection of all various shops or Maspalomas is a 20 minute walk or a €3.50 taxi fare where you will find the designer stores like Hugo Boss etc. and a range of expensive and inexpensive shops all around the lighthouse area. "Dining" We ate in Faro2 a few nights, food is good there and they are the usual touristy restaurants dishing up a range on their menus. Good value and good atmosphere. We ate in Piz Paz and the Steakhouse, nothing to complain about in either. If you want more of a range however go into Playa deLinges. Down along by the beach there are a range of touristy restaurants and bars and again we had no complaints although we ate there only one night. For something more special though go to the lighthouse area in Maspalomas which is where we spent most of our eating out budget. With the lighthouse and beach directly in front of you either swing left for the 'touristy' restaurants and a couple of places that do some really nice crepes, or go right where the designer shops are and some really nice restaurants and a pub called the 19th hole where there is good fun most nights. We ate in all the restaurants here and I would recommend most 'Terraza Boulevard' for great food for good value with very friendly service. I would not recommend Grill Faro however as the service was dreadful here. We waited for a half hour following our staters for the plates to be collected and a further half an hour for our main course. I asked for a well done steak here and I got a steak that was like it was out of the fridge. I asked for it to be put back on the pan and the waiter was not impressed at all and returned after 15 minutes with a well done steak that was more cooked but still rare and walked away without a care. Avoid at all costs. All of the other restaurants along this strip were very good however. "Beach & Waterpark" The beach of Maspalomas is beside the lighthouse and is a nice 20 minute walk but you can get a free shuttle bus just outside the complex, I think this may only be until 12 or 1pm, I stand to be corrected. Other than that a taxi will take you there for approx. €3.50. If you want some watersports Playa de Linges beach is a taxi ride away for €4.50 (not really walkable). most watersports are catered for except Parasailing which is located in Peurto Rico, a bus journey away. Jetskis are available for €50 for 20 minutes which is enough but they are great fun. If you are looking for waterparks, Gran Canaria has them but only one is open in Winter. Aquapark has all the slides you need and is good fun. A taxi will take you there for about €5 - €6. If you want to come back a second day make sure and go to the information centre there and you can get re-entry for €6 per person rather than the €25 approx. it costs for your first visit. Aquapark is a good day out but bring food as it's expensive here like all waterparks. A good pair of strap on sandles will serve you well here also as the ground can be rough on your feet at times. "Travelling the Island" The public transport system is great here with buses constantly going around the Island. Don't be afraid to go up to Peurto Mogan which is up the east coast. Nice little place with a nice beach. We hired a car for three days to catch the sights and this was great. There is some fantastic scenery within the hills but be prepared for the seemingly endless winding roads and the severe drop at the road edge. Don't be put off though, all roads have barriers and quite safe so you won't just fall off the cliff face. The landscape is quite barron and brown but still well worth a look. If you want to see the crater and you are driving go up the west of the island on the motorway and go down from Las Palmas. The tour guides or reception will tell you this. If not, get the Thompson guide in reception and in this they have car hire guides that will tell you the name of the area where the crater is located, I can't remember. On your way up to the viewpoint there is a lovely restaurant and food looked great. Unfortunately we ate in Las Palmas on our way as we didn't know this was here. If you are looking for beaches stay on the south side of the island. The west side is mostly industrial until you get up to Las Palmas. Las Palmas was ok but we weren't on holiday to see the city so I can't help much here. A quick visit told us it was windy and the beach rocky! The east side of the island has lovely beaches alond the south east corner and some nice little villages up higher. Well worth a look especially if you are on a two week break. "Nightlife" Nightlife is never too far away in Playa de Linges or Maspalomas. If your looking for the lively night life go into Playa de Linges where there is everything you need (More than enough!). "Handy Directions when your new!!" To Faro2: With Reception directly behind you walk straight across the public road and across the field (4 mins). Cross the road and walk through what looks like the way into another housing estate/complex and continue straight (4mins). From reception of Green Golf you are literally almost walking straight all the way to Faro2. Just cross the road, don't follow it! To Maspalomas: From reception turn left on the public road (2-3mins). At the T junction go left again (around the golf club) (5 mins). Go through the roundabout and across the bridge (crossing the dry river) and go left, along the bank of the dry river. Continue straight for 10-15 minutes straight into Maspalomas.

My Girlfriend and I stayed at the Bungalows Cordial Green Golf (1st Nov - 14th Nov 08). This was our second visit to Gran Canaria and wasn't disappointed to find the quite resort of Maspalomas had remained picturesque as we remembered it to be back in 2005. After reading various reviews on the Bungalows we had mentally prepared ourselves for a compact bungalow with limited space, however on arrival we were lucky to be allocated a pool facing bungalow that we later learnt were slightly larger then some of the others. It had everything you needed for a self catering holiday and was cleaned regularly. We regularly took a 10 -20 min walk to Melonores left from the bungalows and follow the signs or turn right from the bungalows up the hill towards Playa del Ingles when you come to the 2nd round about there is a spar on your left we found this to be cheaper the shop at Faro2 or onsite. When eating out we tried a lot of restaurants but out favs were El Duke and Babados. If you want a nice quite drink after your meal next door to El Duke is a small place which looks like someone living room I think it is called Mamola??? nice atmosphere. Also Sparkles (comedy drag show) in the Yumbo is a laugh but you do have to have a open mind and not be easily shocked lol. We also took a bus to Puerto de Mogán which is a beautiful quiet fishing resort and visited the Friday Market they have down there once you have been to one market they are all much of a same. Stay in Maspalomas if you want to stay in a quite resort but want to be able to get to the night life of the other resorts.

The location has bungalows (and ONLY bungalows!!) and therefore guests do not feal ghettoed. The restaurant and bar are o.k.. Pool is great and they check quality each morning and clean the pool. The whole complex is very clean. Service is o.k., people are very friendly. They speak German, Netherlands, English and Spain. Each evening there is an evening show, nothing too fancy, but good entertainment. Price-performance ratio is very good. Therefore (and because I was happy with everything) I ranked the location with five bullets. To the sea it is less than 2 km. We rented bicycletts in the nearby Faro2 shopping an restaurant center and could combine both, quiet location AND beachside with it's nice restaurants. Although there is a minimarket food was cheaper in Faro2. Unless buying food (very good german bread in a german bakery!!) we did not like Faro2. Too big, nothing cosy. Good restaurants can be found near the faro. There at the seaside you can follow the promenade to the left for 2 km. A nice way for walking, too. Here you can finde small restaurants and cafes and you have lot's of opportunities for shopping. At the end of the promenade we found "our" nice restaurant. It is the last one in Meloneras at the seaside. Very, very nice. And: prices are lower than near the faro. You may also turn right when coming to the seaside. There you can walk alongside the waterline and the spectacular dunes 7.5 km to Playa las Inglés. Playa las Inglés would not be my preferred place to stay (too many people squeezed into houses that have 7, 8 or 10 floors) but the walk alongside seaside is great. From the bungalows to the seaside Maspalomas Faro as well to Las Inglès there are shuttle busses for free. If you are not up for discotheques and heavy drinking but want to relax Cordial Green Golf is the place to go.

I stayed in the Green Golf bungalows (aka. Cordial Green Golf apartments) in the first week of October and it was the nicest place that I have ever stayed in.I travel to Gran Canaria 3 or 4 times a year, and I have been in all types of accomodation, good and bad,but this was the best. Very clean, plenty of space by the poolside. It has a well stocked supermarket on the complex.Friendly and efficent staff. The apartment was well maintained. The sofa was very comfortable, as a sofa or as a bed should you need it.The beds were very comfortable.Plenty of towels provided for the bathroom. Kitchen had the usual utensils,2 ring cooker, whistle kettle, fridge etc.The air conditioning was provided by a multi-speed ceiling fan in the downstairs and in the upstairs bedroom which was more than adequate should you need to use it.There was a large security safe(for rent) in the wardrobe with plenty of space for your money, laptop etc. Television was rented with the usual 2 english language news channels being the choice, including other foreign language channels. Night time there was no noise or disturbance of any kind. Taxis are frequent should you wish to go to playa del ingles around 3 euros or so.It is a long way to the beach but bus shuttle services are provided at no extra cost. As I was self catering and on a budget I didn't eat in the complex restaurant so I cant comment on it. Nearby is the Faro2 shopping centre with the usual selection of shops and restaurants. There are 2 supermarkets in the centre which are very expensive if you are on a budget. There are many Spar supermarkets in the general area which offer much better value. For meals I found Piz Paz the best restaurant in Faro2 for eating.Good choice of menu with huge servings and good value for money..I will certainly go back to Green Golf again

The beach is a five min taxi and only 3 euro,s.For night time there is a bar in faro 2 called The Banana bar and its fantastic, the bar staff Paco, Sergio and Evean are soooooo funny and make u so welcome.... we will defo be coming back Cheryl and Shawn

I have stayed at these bungalows a few times and on every occasion i have enjoyed my stay. The reception staff are friendly and speak excellent English. The reception is however reached by steps which if you are disabled would give problems. The bungalows are a good size and cleaned to a high standard. They are comfortable and are ideal for long stays. The patio areas are private and relaxing. The pools and sun bathing areas are excellent and not over crowded. The Faro 2 shopping/restraurant area is a 10 mins walk away, Maspalomas sand dunes is around 20 to 25 mins walk along a traffic free path. Taxis are cheap and plentiful. Great place to stay.

After landing at 4am in the morning, and having to wait 1 and a half hours for our luggage, we got on the coach and by 6:30 am we were finally at the hotel. As it was still dark, we did not see much of the hotel to begin with. So we checked in and got some shut eye as we were stupidly tired! We woke up and were plesantly surprised by the apartments. Finally awake, we could properly look at it. The apartments were fantastic. Every apartment was duplex style, all had basic SC equiptment and a tv. They also had an inbuilt radio, it did only play a spanish radio station, but always good to go local! The complex was medium sized. And lovely decor both inside and out. The entrance area was a terrace and a small balcony on the upstairs big enough to dry clothes. But with 2 large pools and plenty of sunloungers. This was perfect as we did not spend alot of time in the actual apartments. We were on half board, but found it easier for my self and my partner to eat out as we like to explore the area and the island. The food was basic, continental and cooked. So if we did stay a few times, then it is good to eat there. But as we had a car, we went venturing. Overall the hotel/apartments were fabulous! Very clean and great service. The complex was secure as we had a key card to get through gates, so it felt safe. Maspalomas is a fabulous resort. The beach was about a 30 min walk, which i know for some could be a problem, but dont let that put you off. its a pleasent walk to the beach and a great way to get a tan and lose weight on the way. Supermarket is onsite and tghere are a few close by. Shopping centre is about a 15 min walk. Well worth a walk on the sand dunes and if you are up for it, a walk on them to Playa del ingles. But this can take up a full day so be weary! If you dont like walking or doing something on a hol, DONT DO IT. I burnt my feet on the sandunes and it was painful. But, was still enjoyable as you dont realise until you get back. its quick into Playa, taxi is roughly 3 euro if you dont want to walk. Walking is not far, but up a hill. best advise, get a car, and go shopping in Las palmas, there are plenty of fantastic shops and las palmas has plenty to offer. it has a huge beach where the locals go to unwind. Have a trip upto Rock Nueblos (i think) it is a drive but well worth it. if you are weary with driving, go from the north as the south (GC600) is very scary and windy, we started on this route, but my phone battery died and did not fancy being stuck there. plus, buses go down there, so on a tight spot, can get a bit scary.

We had stayed at Cordial green Golf for the first time & with "our teenage grandaughter", for 2 week's ( end of May/ 1st week of June), last year 2007, & loved every aspect of our holiday, that we returned again this year, hubby & myself for 2 week's, ( end of May/ 1st week June). The standard of cleanliness in our 'Duplex', patio, pool, & surrounding area is first class !!!. At the bar & food area, again, first class, & service really good, friendly & helpful !!!.At the reception area, there is 24 hour assistance, & friendly, very helpful staff, at all & any time of day/night.The "Ladies", who bring clean towel's etc are so discreet, '"they are a credit", to the complex !!!!. Although there is a frre shuttle bus, we enjoy the walk to the beach, but if going further we've used the local bus, to get to to Puerto Rico, from there, we used the water taxi's ( again) & went to Mogen ( little Venice), it's a wonderful area & so pretty, then 'caught the water taxi & bus back to Maspalomas & " our home for 2 week's !!).We prefered to use local transport ( it's brilliant, regular & reliable) for the whole of gran Canaria & we can certainly recommend anyone to use it & use a taxi ( good price's & helpful again !!), in the evening's etc. I can honestly say, that where ever we have eaten, we have not been disappointed, be it at the complex, Faro 2 centre, or beach/ different area's of the Island. We made our own meal's & ate at 'our' patio area many times, when we've had a lazy day 'by the pool',& plenty of 'sun' lounger's, to relax & 'read', or after swimming,(bliss), & a shop only min's away on the complex. We can & have recommended Cordial Green Golf with complete confidence, there has been a good mix of all age's, whilst we have been there, so again- no age barrier at all, the pool's are a good size, & a smaller one for babies & toddler's, with step's leading into the shallow area. We were fortunate enough & really pleased, to see some guest's who had stayed at the same time as ourselves last year ( 2007), it was a delight to see familiar face's, it's also a testimony in itself, in my opinion !!. Indeed, yesterday ( Thur's 21st. Aug.), we have 'booked' for a further 11 night's this year, 25th..Sept.-6th.Oct 2008. The overall price's are so reasonable & competative & such good quality in return, mean's an extra 'break', in a "home from home" duplex, at a lovely complex, on a beautiful Island - Gran Canaria, I would happily 'live' there, in a Duplex, at Cordial Green Golf !!!. My husband Alan & myself, cannot fault anything, from arrival to leaving ( paying a little extra to keep our accom.), when departing late pm !!!. Many, many thank's to all, who make "our holiday" , a real worry free holiday, & we are now looking forward to Sept, 25th., only 5 week's to wait !. Jan & Alan, Cheshire, UK.

We had a fantastic time in Maspalomas, partly due to the great accommodation at the Cordial Green Bungalows. The little two-floor bungalows are wonderful - very modern and complete with everything you need. (Having to pay for the TV with only a few english channels is a pain, but who needs a TV when you're on holiday!) We opted for Self-catering (and so can't really comment on the food at the Hotel) although from what we saw, it looked pretty good! We chose to eat out in Maspalomas and nearby Playa de Ingles. The bungalow has a fridge, sink, kettle, toaster and 2 electric hob rings (as well as full compliment of pots, pans, plates, glasses etc....) and a mini-supermarket on site for the essentials. I would advise taking the short walk to the FARO2 shopping centre (5-10min walk) to grab your shopping as it is a little cheaper! The pools are beautiful. Both of them! Didn't have a huge problem with sun loungers, but it was always good to be up before 10am when the pool-side started to fill up! As for the area, the centre (and beach) of Maspalomas is a 3 EURO taxi ride away - bargain! Head for the Grand Italia Restaurant on the front in the new shopping development. Simply amazing service and fantastic food - especially the inhouse made pasta.

We had a fantastic week here in March and we would highly recommend it. The bungalow was small but perfectly compact and had everything you would need. The place was beautifully clean and tidy, the pools were really clean and it was such a pretty place, it is as it looks in the brochure. Great for golf next door, the driving range is good, although the course was a little bit dry and the greens were sandy but we are used to the lush greens in the UK! We were self-catered, the supermarket was an easy walk away and there were plenty of places to eat in the evening. We walked to the beach most days (to try and burn off the food!) but there was a shuttle bus, which was regular and free! It is also to fun to walk over the dunes but really hard work! You will have a great holiday.

Just back from a week in Maspalomas. weather georgus. Green golf bunalows were fab. Very clean, tidy, quiet and central enough.I didnt go full board but I would do it either. Food is ok but near by restraunts are lovely and cheap. There are daily free buses to the beach and Playa del Ingles but a taxi will only cost you about 3.50 euro. It only takes about 7 mins. Near the bungalows you can play all sports at a good price (tennis, golf, etc..) A lovely chinese rest called Bamboo is only 5 min walk away. For kids (and adults like me) just 20 min walk will bring you to a fun arcade with good indoor and outdoor ammusements. It opens from 6 pm to 12 midnight. The irish and british centres are good but you will always have people pulling you into bars and its very young. Go to the main shopping centre in Playa del Ingles. Great shops fro the daytime, good cheap food in the evening and hilarous drag shows in the eveings. Highly recommend it. over all a great holiday and depressed to be back. But i am going back there again. I have been on a lot of package holidays and this is by far the best that i have been on.

I absolutely loved this place! The apartments were clean and comfortable, the cleaning staff were very friendly and the pool was gorgeous. We stayed for a week from 9 to 16 June and wished we could have stayed longer. If you want to play golf, this an excellent location as the clubhouse for the Campo Del Golf is a three minute walk. We didn't have to book a tee time, just showed up when we wanted to play, and received a 15% discount because we stayed at the Green Golf. On the Wednesday night they had a barbecue in the hotel, which wasn't bad. There was plenty of meat though not a lot in the way of side dishes, apart from salad, or things to put on the jacket potatoes, but we still enjoyed our meal. There are plenty of bars and restaurants within walking distance, and even more in central Maspalomas, which is quite an upmarket place. There were a lot of families with small children, so I wouldn't say it was the best place to stay if you want a romantic getaway, but otherwise it was fantastic. I'm hoping to go again next June!

I stayed at the Cordial Geen Golf Bungalows 19/5/08 to 2/6/08. This is a great place to stay, very clean, the public areas are cleaned and developed just about every day. There are two very large pools, one about 50 yards long the other about 100 yards long. There is the Faro 2 shopping centre about 5 mins walk away plenty of restuarants there. However I would recommend heading round past the golf course, visit the "Canal Grande" (Italian) or the Bamboo Garden (Chinese). Both excellent. For traditional Canarian food try Rustico, oppositr the golf course, I didn't go there but it did look very good indeed. Or if you head further down toward the sea front area of Meloneras there are loads of great bars restaurants and boutiques as well as some great hotels. Try the Costa Cobana for a great cocktail! For the first time ever I will go back to Maspalomas soon, don't normally want to go back somewhere straight away

I can highly recommend the Green Golf as well as the resort of Maspalomas for a fantastic holiday. We (myself and girlfriend) wanted to get away in March for some early sun and booked this direct with Thomson as a weeks package via their website. Hotel ------- We found the apartments to be very clean and the grounds, pools etc were lovely. It was a really relaxing place that was quiet even though there quite alot of people staying. The only bad point I can think of is that the walls between apartments were quite thin so if you were next to anybody loud then I think this would disturb you. As the clientele are mainly couples or families then I wouldn't let this put you off as it isn't a raucous place anyway! Location ------------ The hotel location was great as it is not in the centre of Maspalomas but is still near enough to walk to over 20 nearby restaurants. You can walk down to the beach from the hotel which only takes about 20 minutes. Taxi's are plentiful and cheap though we had hired a car so always walked or drove around. The beach front as Maspalomas is excellent with a nature reserve (full of fish, gecko's etc) as well as a host of nice restaurants and designer boutique shops. Another good place to go for a large range of cheaper restaurants is the Faro2 centre which is a 5 minute walk from the apartments. Staff ------ The hotel staff were excellent and couldn't do enough to help us. We booked a couple of excursions with them and unfortunately the people running one of them made a mistake with days so didn't pick us up from the hotel. The reception staff got straight on the phone and re-arranged it for the next day and also managed to negotiate us a different excursion for FREE for that day too! The maids came every day and did a good job of cleaning the apartment. They never tried to clean when we were in so we never actually saw them though which was nice (no offence maids!). Maspalomas ------------------ This was our first trip to Gran Canaria and we were really impressed. We were initially worried when we drove from the airport down to Maspalomas as the view from the motorway is quite industrial and not very nice. As soon as we got to the hotel and took a drive down to Maspalomas our worries were gone though. We had hired a car for the full week and saw most places on the island but we didn't see any location we'd have rather been staying at. We were very relieved we'd chosen Maspalomas when we vistsed Puerto Rico which is so overdeveloped it is ridiculous and front was all "Irish" bars and full English breakfasts - not what we'd travelled to Gran Canaria for! Things To See -------------------- For us the highlights of the holiday were some of the excursions we did. The submarine trip at Puerto De Mogan is a great experience. The camel safari we did up in the mountains was great. The market on Sunday mornings at Teror is worth a visit though get there before lunchtime to get parked. And probably the most fun thing we did was an off road buggy trek - this is where a guide takes a group of you in off road buggies for a few hours drive around the area combining on and off road tracks - great fun! All in all we had a fantastic holiday :) Hope this helps Richard

I stayed at Cordial Green 19th-26th April. We booked over the net on Travel Republic and picked it from various others. As you are normally greeted we expected a less than amazing site, as the pictures were so good we thought they ahd been computer generated. However THEY WEREN'T!! This pleace is beautiful!! Colourful, expertley clean, nicely decorated, not pestered by maids, gorgeous gardens!!!

My boyfriend and I booked this as a cheap winter sun holiday and what a fantastic time we had!! Green Golf Bungalows are a little gem in Maspalomas and are perfect for families and couples alike! The bungalows themselves are clean and tidy with everything that you need.. There is a spacious living and kitchen area and an airy upstairs with a beautifully furnished bathroom! You also have a patio area and upstairs balcony so there is more than enough space and choices of chilling area! The public areas are also immaculate-the pools are lovely and there are plenty of sundbeds for everyone. Their are also safety gates by reception which you have a seperate key card for which stop non-residents wandering into the hotel-we thought this was great and we felt very safe! There is a little hotel supermarket which is very handy and had everything we needed. We tried the restaurant but found we enjoyed a great selection of restaurants and bars at fantastic prices down by the Maspalomas lighthouse-this area is amazing and definately worth a trip or two! From the bungalows it was only around 3/4 euros in a taxi but it is within walking distance and takes around 20 mins (we are slow walkers tho!) Also nearby is Faro2 which is a shopping centre and has crazy golf etc.. we used to go to the bakers there for breakfast and there is a great supermarket-this is a five min walk. Also worth a trip is Port Mogan-we went on a friday when we hired a car and there is a great market on which you can get anything and everything you could wish for! My wish list got me a some amazing handbags etc!! We had a fantastic holiday in Gran Canaria at the Green Golf Bungalows and we were sad to leave, so we are hoping to return in the near future and would recommend these apartments to any potential holiday makers thinking of going! Even the weather was perfect!!!

could not fault this hotel at all. staff at reception really helpful, reccommending places to eat etc. complex itself was gorgeous from the outside - painted really pretty colours with lots of greenery and flowers, lovely pool also. bungalows themselves fairly small but fine for 2 people sharing - living room/kitchen downstairs and bedroom/bathroom upstairs. if you're worried about the location -don't be! there is a free shuttle bus to the beach, but if you miss this a taxi only cost us €4 to get to faro de maspalomas. all in all a great place to stay, would definitely reccomend!

We are in our 60's and wanted sun / warmth / quiet / good restaurants. We were attracted to Cordial Green Golf and were not disappointed. Accommodation. "Cosy" , ie. only one of you could get to the wardrobe at once; one side of the bed was up against the wall. However, we weren't going to spend much time upstairs, so it wasn't a problem. 2 pools. Unheated one was a tad chilly in Feb. but OK when you got used to it. V. attractive pool, area and apartments. We only went for 4 nights, so didn't use bar restaurant.. Eating out. Tried Cho Juanillo in Faro 2 (10 mins walk.) as recommended by other reviewers. Not very impressed. Just your basic steak bar. However, if you like your dessert to come with a sparkler and leetle umbrella, then it could be just for you. Likewise, cannot recommend food at Golf Club. Courgette soup was wonderful, but main course (fish) not properly cooked, and cold. However, two wonderful restaurants only 5 mins walk from apartments, though. (Come out of Green Golf; turn left; past the Golf Club, and immediately on your right.) Amaiur is run by very nice Dutch Guy. Super food, imaginative menu. Tad pricey. Rustico next door - very small, will only seat 24, therefore book in advance. Wonderful. Nice German couple (he cooks, she serves). Fish soup with Pernod; saddle of lamb with Rosti and warm papaya (!) - yummy. Would have eaten there every night if we'd discovered it sooner. Very reasonable price. Golf. Course is long and a bit boring, but excellent greens. We set alarm for 7. 00 (still dark). Got there 7. 45 (only 5 mins walk) and teed off at 8. 00 (shorts and shirt sleeves). Only 3 and a half hour round. Finished by 11. 30 (temp. in low 80's). Had beer and ciabatta on terrace, and gloated over queue of late starters who would be having a 5 hour round in the heat of the day ! Good driving range, and practice facilities. Beach and Dunes. Worth walking through dunes to Masp. Turn left out of Green Golf. Walk past Golf Club along road. When road crosses right over dry river bed, turn left along gravel track, and across dunes to sea. Beware of naked Germans lurking in dunes ! When you get to sea, remember that the first land SSW is Antartica; SW is Brazil. This explains the size of the waves. Have a super time. Feel free to ask me anything. timvenner@aol.com

Spent quite a while deciding where to go, but really did make a good choice. My priorities were to find somewhere quiet, with the feeling of having our own space/privacy, greenery around us and a balcony/outdoor space to relax in the evenings. I didn't want screaming children, lots of nighttime noise, or nasty concrete apartments. Green Golf fitted the bill really well in the end. The area of Maspalomas is right beside Playa del Inglés - a very urban, busy, (tacky?!) resort - so glad we didn't stay there. Maspalomas has low density bungalow-style accommodation with the odd, very grand-looking hotel. Lots of vegetation around the place and it is close enough to the beach area that you can walk (30-40 mins from where we were). The Green Golf Apartments run around two long pools. I think where you are placed within the apartments really makes a difference. We were initially put on a north-facing stretch looking out towards a road - which wouldn't have been too bad, but I'd have been a bit sad if we'd stayed. Asked at reception to move and after 2 nights got a different spot. I would recommend requesting a particular location when you book. The bungalows are really well kitted out and are a nice size for 2 people. Many seem to have been refurbished recently so look quite smart. We cooked on 2 nights and I had no problems. There is a shop at the complex which has most of what you'll need - and fairly cheap too. The apartments and the complex generally is clean the point of someone having an obsessive compulsive disorder. Ridiculously clean. The only downside to that is that the teams of cleaners (with walkie-talkies!) and various machines can be a bit obtrusive. We ate at the complex once - Wednesday is BBQ night - and went out for dinner 3 times - each of which was great. There is a lovely restaurant called 'Rustico' (I think) run by a German family about 5 mins walk towards the beach. We went twice and I'd highly recommend it, especially the 'catch of the day' option and lobster sauce. Great service, good food and nice selection of wine. Downsides? Reception staff aren't great (seemed weary and grumpy!), but they did move us, so they get points for that. My gut is that the apartments are most suited to couples - or families with really young or older teenagers. Kids in the middle would probably be a bit bored and the ambiance of the whole place is pretty sedate. The pool was freezing when we first arrived - the heating got turned on half way through the trip (for the winter season), which made it more pleasant. So, I'd certainly recommend the place if the above is what you're looking for.

We have just returned from a 2 week holiday at the Green Golf Bungalows. We had a bungalow facing south and got the sun from 9.30 in the morning until 5.30ish. At first we were a little disappointed with the size of the bungalow which appeared to be a little on the small size but after a few days we got used to it and grew to love it. Hope the following helps Location…well situated for most places. Half hour to forty minutes walk to Faro 1 but taxis plentiful and only 3 Euros. Faro 2 5-10 min walk but not as up market. The Green Golf is SO peaceful especially around the unheated pool (to your right as you face reception) Accommodation ….The bungalows are very pretty have everything you need. Not luxurious inside and a little basic but we couldn’t complain. The electric 2 hob was fine and the whistling kettle boiled quite quickly. The beds however were VERY uncomfortable. They were cheap beds and need to be replaced as the springs could be felt with every turn. Many people mentioned this so please take note Cordial and change them soon before it drives people away. The bungalows were very clean with the maid coming in 5 days a week. Our maid Argueda was always smiling. The pools and all outside areas are kept extremely clean every day. One morning I woke at 4.30 and thought I could hear someone swimming in the pool. It was the pool guy cleaning it and he was still working on it at 11am ! The supermarket staff could have been more cheerful but lets face it they were in the basement and didn’t see the light of day so maybe they had something to be miserable about. Food …..We had lunch here twice and it was ok but nothing special. There is a restaurant to eat at night but we never did so cannot comment. However we heard mixed reviews of meals there. The bar was very smokey whenever we passed through and we decided not to spend an evening there because it would have been uncomfortable. Entertainment…..We never stopped to see a show mainly because we went out each evening to eat, but more importantly because a parrot show/guy with snakes/fashion show/bingo and karaoke was not the sort of entertainment we were looking for. Reception staff were efficient and seemed to do their job well but were not very warm or over friendly. The Resort… Faro 1 at Melonares is a great place for eating out. We tried out lots of places and decided the Grand Italia was by far the best…heads and shoulders above the rest. The waiters there are very attentive and the food and service is very good. To the left of the lighthouse is a walkway towards the beach with lots of eating places at night. Sorrento is good for entertainment….2 guys singing lovely Spanish songs. If you can, try and take in the show at the casino. Absolutely fabulous 2hr show 35 euros, or show and meal 47.50 euros. . Would we go back to the Green Golf ?…like a shot but only if we knew that they had bought new beds. Im quite willing to answer any questions ...feel free.

This is the 7th time we have stayed at the Green Golf Bungalows. Now looks even better after the refurbishment. It was good to see the same staff again, we were made to feel really welcome. Room was cleaned 5 days out of seven and bed linen changed twice a week.. Pool areas were of an excellent standard. Bar/Restaurant was also very good. This is a really wonderful place to relax and unwind. Needless to say we have already booked for next year. Jane & Peter Epsom, Surrey.

This was my 2nd visit to the Green Golf apartments. When booking requested same apartment and on arriving got the apartment we wanted. The apartments were much busier than when we visited at easter time but still able to get sunbeds no problem as there was always plenty available. Once again were happy here and had no problems at all. Would recommend them to family & friends. Pool area very nice & the gardens at the courtyard area (2nd pool) had a very pleasant outlook when sitting at your terrace. We were here on a self catering basis and had quite a lot of our meals at Meloneras. We would walk down which took about 30 to 45 mins to get to the restaurant area of Meloneras, plenty shops here to browse around as well. Hope to be back sometime to the Green Golf apartments in the future.

We have just returned from a one week stay in these lovely apartments in Maspalomas. The rooms have recently been furnished and are very modern. The rooms were cleaned 5 days out of 7 with clean towels every time and bed linen changed once. The pool area and walk ways were cleaned every day with an army of staff. The site has two very large swimming pools with more than enough sun beds. We stayed self catering and did not eat in the hotel and used the site supermarket for essentials. Faro II shopping centre was only 10-15 mins walk away for eating places and supermarkets. The taxi into Playa del Ingles was only 3 euros 50 cents. It is a lovely place to stay and we would return at anytime.

Well, What to say.........I'm quite fussy so this year I Iet my partner decide where we would go on holiday and she picked this place!!! Disappointing? Read on. This is , honestly, the best holiday I have ever had. I wanted hot, I got it. I wanted clean, I got it. I wanted privacy, I got it ( that's on the Golf course facing bungalows). Other reviews say the night time entertainment wasn't that great....True, in one way, but sometimes, and this was definately the case, you have to be in the mood. If you are and want to have a good time, then this can be a good night out right on your doorstep. TAKE PART. The staff are so helpful. When we arrived there was no plug for the bathroom sink. We asked and that same evening we had one! The supermarket on location has all you need, extra's, including bars, restaurants, shops etc. are 5 minutes walk away at the superb Faro 2 shopping centre. We even got one of the local cats, not included in package, stay with us!!! She was in no way pestering, she came and went when she pleased. Please feed her, she sleeps outside Bungalow 32, she is all black and she has one bitten off ear tip. Check this review, we took loads of piccies. We'll send them if requested! PS. For a most romantic evening, go to the Viewpoint, half way to PDI, 15 minutes walk away. Get there one hour before sunset and take a camera. The dunes and the sunset over the hills are unbelieveable. Piccies if you want!!! PPS. In Faro 2 they show all the footy from Sky & Setanta in different bars so relax lads, you won't miss out. Jim & Claudia

I have recently stayed at the Green Golf Bungalows in Maspolamas and loved every minute of it! The staff were very nice and friendly, rooms were cleaned daily with sheets and towels changed a number of times and the grounds were beautifully maintained! The pools - of which there are 2 unusually shaped ones and a small kiddies paddling pool, were very clean and great for a swim or a dip when it got too hot in the sun. The apartments themselves were very modern, clean and had everything you could need for a self catering holiday - even a toaster! The on site shop also has everything you could need and the restaurant offered some decent pool side snacks - toasties, burgers, hot dogs, etc - although we ate out each evening so don't know what it was like at night. Nearby Meloneras has some great shops, restaurants and the beach which is definately worth a visit and Faro 2 has some nice shops and restaurants too. Don't listen to any bad reviews I can't fault these apartments, the facilities or the staff.

Myself, husband Alan & grangaughter Emily have recently returned from a 2 week holiday ( 28th May 07 --11th June 07 ).We had a really lovely holiday at the above. Our Duplex, which is the type of accom. that we prefer was spotless, all new & modern furnishings downstairs & more than ample space for Emily to sleep on the bed/settee.Upstairs again spotless, lots of wardrobe space & shelving & mirrors etc, & the same in the bathroom which was really spacious & lots of good fluffy towels supplied & changed regularly, same with bedding & cleaning. We had requested a pool view & were lucky enough to be given one !!!.The balcony was spacious, as was the patio. The pool was wonderful & well maintained. All of the staff were helpful & the ladies who cleaned were especially good & friendly !!!.. We can only give praise about our entire experience of staying there & will most certainly book this same accom. again, we had some lovely neighbours & all was first class !!!. We stayed at 146 & had a night out with neighbours Meg.John & their son Guy,if you do read this my email was returned because of wrong address, please email us ?. To sum up, a wonderful holiday in excellent accom & will most certainly stay there again & can highly reccom. to anyone who's thinking of where to stay in Maspalomas !!!. Jan,Alan & Emily.

We (a couple around 50 years old!) have stayed at the Green Golf bungalows twice and have found the accomodation and service superb, by far the best self catering facility we have stayed and the only one to return to. Our remit is to be totally independent and not bothered by holiday reps. The apartments are a little on the small side, but very adequate for two adults and are sericed to a very high standard including regular change of towels, twice weekly change of bed linen and 5 days a week maid service. Our maid, at our last stay was wonderfully attentive to a high standard of cleanliness and though she spoke little English, she allowed us to try out our limited Spanish! All the expected items in the apartment include fridge, two ring hob, coffee maker, toaster and good selection of crockery etc. The surroudings of the complex are kept very clean and the two pools (1 heated and 1 unheated) are cleaned daily. The complex is set around the golf course which is idyllic and quiet, we had the choice of walking into Playa del Ingles or to the sand dunes at Maspalomas and on to Meloneras. Cannot recommend this facility highly enough.

Me, my partner and our 7 year old daughter stayed at the Green Golf bungalows the last week in september the first in october and had a fantastic time, the rooms are cleaned everyday with fresh towels given, the staff where helpful. They are great great with the kids, and friendly. The weather has been fantastic, and we enjoyed the pools which are cleaned every morning. I can't praise this place enough, it's a great place in the quieter side of town with a taxi (of which there are plenty) costing 3 euros including a tip into playa de ingles (about 2 pounds). Its a secure place to stay I felt safe as there are gates and you have a card to enter into the grounds. I would really recommend this place and I will be looking forward to my return trip one day in the future.

i stayed in the green golf apartments in jul/aug 2005 with 8 friends we had 3 apartments between us and loved it!!!! the pool or should i say pools as there are 2 were beautiful they were cleaned regularly, so we were all pleased with the standard of hygiene around the accomodation! the apartments were also pleasing, they were in a v. nice peaceful location, obviously we had the odd few cockroaches but how can they be fully avoided? i agree that the accomadation could be freshened up and modernised a little but were definately above satisfactory! i spent 2 weeks there and it was v. nice. the man in reception is lovely and although did not speak much english was very friendly and helpful. and the actual location of the resort was perfect in terms of quietness and being able to relax peacefully but it was only a cheap 5 minute taxi drive into the centre of playa de ingles which was ideal!!! i have no complaint about my holiday in maspalomas in fact it was my best holiday yet, i would definately return to green golf as my stay wa excellent thankyou!!! x

Just got back from Green Golf. The complex was excellent. Really clean, not a cockroach in sight!!! The apartments themselves were small but adequate for the amount of time spent there. Pool's were huge and pool area was spotless. Plenty of sunbeds. Bar staff were fantastic, always cheerful, helpful and efficient. Reception staff were helpful and courteous. Ideal for families and couples. The resort of Maspalomas is relatively quiet but it's only approx 3 euros in a taxi to all the nightlife of Playa Del Ingles. Faro 2 shopping centre is only 5 mins walk away and has many shops and restaraunts, bars there are open till 3 on most nites. Review possibly a bit late but nevertheless stayed at Green Golf at April of this year, it was superb, the apartment, the setting, the staff, it was faultless. We found it to be very clean and tidy, room service was on a daily basis, cleaned to a high standard, although facilities pretty basic, were we not meant to spend our time out on that glorious beach of Maspalomas ?. My daughter and I stayed in Sandy golf bungalows , sister of Green golf. we had a brilliant time. so relaxing at apts and lively in Playa Del Ingles, just a short, inexpensive drive away. there was no music at the pool bar, it was all so laid back, everything a holiday should be. As my daughter is only 12 I was concerned about the security in the complex, I need not have worried, the main gate was locked at 12 midnight and could only be accessed by key.

Me and my other half stayed at the GREEN GOLF APTS in Gran Canaria. They are absolutely wonderful, the pools are gorgeous. I would reccommend goig self-catering because there are so many bars and restaurants in a big complex just over the road. There is a free bus which takes you to the beach which is every hour. Its so relaxed in the apts and lively in the evening. There are nightly shows at the apts if you are on all-inclusive but i dont think the food is too good. The Sand Dunes are lovely but dont walk to far down cos you may get a nice suprise of 100s of naked people on the nudist beach. Overall the best holiday i have had yet - fantastic.

Had a great week here with friends. Lovely apartments, well equiped if you are thinking of cooking. Nice staff, beautiful gardens - very well looked after, lovely swimming pools (bit chilly as heating gets switched off at the end of March). Only ate in the restaurant once and the food was good.Nearby is Faro 2 shopping centre with restaurants and bars - We had mexican, italian and chinese all of which were very good. Cocktail bars are lethal but good fun and the waiters keep you entertained.Went to a fantastic restaurant in Playa des Ingles called El Gaucho (I think!) steakhouse. The food was excellent and the staff really made our evening as they were utterly charming. Also live singing here which was great. Well worth a visit!Lovely week had by all!

Got back on Saturday after 5 days with my grown up daughter. Very good place, rooms excellent and pool perfect. Cleaners are first class and whole complex is very clean. All in all would rate excellent with 2 exceptions: 4 visits to reception, 1 to check in: great, 2 to ask for nearest petrol station: great, 3 to ask if we could keep room until 15.00, poor (miserable women who said it would be 25 euros and 'forgot' to mention courtesy room), 4 in evening after 3 to ask about room again when she had gone when all was great again. Also bar area servers were very average. I would certainly go back there again but had forgotten how rude/jaded some Spanish people have become. We spent many years in the Greek Islands where they all are happy to have you there.

After having read much about the poor state of accomodation in Gran Canaria and the Canaries in general, I was a little apprehensive about my recent holiday there. I need not have been. The staff were pleasant on arrival and helpful throughout my stay. Cordial Green Golf is a modern, self contained complex set midway between the Faro centre and the Maspalomas beach. It has the usual facilities, bar, on site shop selling bread/groceries. The complex has two large and very clean pool and the whole area was well tended. Buses are available into Playa Del Ingles and Maspalomas beach. The accomodation itself consists of two story maisonettes. Living room/kitchen downstairs and bedroom and bathroom upstairs. They are well decorated and clean throughout. The maisonette I was allocated did not have air conditioning but had ceiling fans. Although the Canaries is not my usual holiday destination, I was so impressed with the hotel that I have booked to go there again in February.

Just back from a week in the green golf, very well maintained and clean bungalows. The pool was fabulous never too crowded. Free bus down to the dunes but the walk is very nice and takes about 25 minutes. Restaurants were very reasonable but if you go down towards the lighthouse there is an Italian restaurant on the strip that is very good but expensive for what you get, further down the road there is a pizzeria which is very good value with nice waiters and food and wine. Would definitely go back to the Green golf as it was a very relaxing holiday.

Reception and cleaning staff were very pleasant and check-in was quick and hassle free. The accommodation was clean and comfortable and the complex was generally well maintained and inviting. The self catering supplies are quite rudimentary in the apartments so if you plan to make anything more than snacks while you are there you would be better off going somewhere else. There are only 2 electric rings for cooking and no oven or microwave would would have been nice but then again some people don't want to bother with too much cooking while on holiday. The beds were quite comfortable and the room was cleaned most days. There was just myself and wife on this holiday and we are in our fifties. The complex suited us fine but there is not much going on so I don't think there would be too much to do for children although the dunes at Maspalomas are fantastic and if you like beach holidays, you couldn't get better. There is the Faro shopping centre not far away which has a limited amount of bars, shops and reataurants and they had a car boot sale on at the weekend. Unlike other reviewers, we found the minimarket on site to be quite reasonable for both choice and prices. (Fresh bread delivered every morning for Breakfast!). If you want to travel to Playa Del Ingles which is a lot more lively, there is a free bus service from the complex (also to the dunes) but is rather limited. However you can jump in one of the frequent taxis and get to Playa Del Ingles for less than 4€. All in all , I would recommend the green golf and we had a pleasant, relaxing time. Weather in Jan was 25-28 degrees C.

My partner had stayed here before but it was my first time. The bungalows around the pool are lovely, no busy roads, no noise after dark, very laid back and restful. The bungalows are on 2 levels, lounge and kitchen down stairs, bedroom and bathroom up. Very good value. The weather was amazing all week for January. Free bus to the beach and back several times a day. One pool is heated the other not. Have to say the place was only half full so may be busy and noisier in easter / summer. Very clean rooms, excellent maids. Only downsides, good walk into Faro or taxi for 3 euro 50, hotel staff not terribly interested in helping guests with info, food on site not great, on site mini market expensive...but all in all accomm great

It was just over a year since my last stay in the Green Golf .I decided to ring in 2010 there .I arrived on Dec.31.The complex was not crowded by any means..My apartment was number 9 (as far as I remember). All was clean and tidy as before. One major problem was that the upstairs balcony door had a broken lock, and I could see that it had been broken for some time.Anyone could have crossed over from either side and come in had I been out..This didnt bother me too much as I kept all my valueables in the safe. The safe did not have any instructions on how to operate the codes, which meant I had to go to reception to get verbal instructions.A printed paper on the wardrobe would have been more practical..It was at night time that "my visitors" arrived, cockroach central..They were all over the place, there was bug spray provided that did kill them, but every night there was a fresh batch of them calling to say Hi..I cant blame the complex for them, but if there had been a stopper on the kitchen sink if may have kept a few of them out..The complex itself was lovely and bright and clean. The staff were very friendly. In the nearby Faro 2 shopping centre I came across a restaurant that I had passed out many times before "El Nublo".The food was superb and the presentation just added to it,really good.I enjoyed my stay apart from the gremlins..

Sehr schöne Anlage. Hoher Erholungswert.

Myself and my husband travelled back last week from the Green Golf Bungalows, with Ryanair. The flight was definitely value for money and did what it said on the tin. The bungalows have been refurbished since our last visit and they were excellent. Kitchen facilities while basic had everything we needed, beds comfortable and the lounge offered somewhere to sit and chill out on return from the beach! The only downside to our trip was a meal that we had at the El Faro Grill restaurant in Melonares, having eaten at these restaurants many times they have always proved to be good quality but this one let them down, the chicken that we both ordered was VERY undercooked and mine was RAW in places which unfortunately we did not notice till we had eaten some of the meal which resulted in my husband suffering from food poisoning for 5 days. Not a great end to the holiday!! Please be ware of this restaurant, when we complained they suddenly couldn’t speak any English and were not bothered!! Apart from this an excellent holiday which we would thoroughly recommend and we can't wait to return.

Stayed in these apartments for 1 week in August 2009. Could not fault them. Spotless clean, we saw the maids spend nearly 2 hours cleaning the apartment after the guests had checked out. They cleaned our apartments every second day and replaced towels. Kitchen equipment was fine, sufficent to get you through breakfast and lunch. We had an apartment facing the golf course which was quite and relaxing. Two huge pools are great bonus, reception staff and maids pleasant. Didn't try the buffet so can't comment. Didn't use the free buses either but there was quite a large queue for them in the mornings. Taxi into Pdi was €4. Faro 2 is a 10 minute walk away, many of the shops are closed but there are a few restarants and bars. Highly recommend the "Michelangelo" italian restaurant, very tasty food, good value and service. Cho Juanillo was good too. Melonaras is really lovely stroll along the coast to the lighthouse. My sister-in-law lives in Gran Canaria and of all the apartments she was in, she said the Green Golf were the nicest and cleanest she had seen. Overall, would highly recommend these apartments.

Just got back today from Cordial green golf, with my boyfriend. Our apartment was situated opposite the golf course, although we did ask for Pool view, and were orignally given one according to our check in thing, but oh well. We found we were woken by loud lawn mowers on the course and other vechiles and stupid o clock which was annoying, and one night at 1am there was a party of some sort and we could hear word for word people talking and music through microphones so loudly it woke us, and the whole block up!! Maid service was brill they did a fab job, although one morning we were awoken by a maid banging about in kitchen even though we had do not disturb sign showing! Other than that we thought the 'bungalows' were fab! Perfect size, beds not too uncomfortable, and we didn't get too hot without air contiioning because of the ceiling fans which worked great for us. The bathroom was good for us too, shower was great and we experienced no problems with it. Kitchen was basially equipped but fine for us we just cooked pasta and eggs for lunch and ate out in the evenings The 2 pools were fantasic! Although in the first week it was hard for us to get 2 loungers as people seemed to have them on their patio and then saved ones by the pool with their towels! We had noproblem in the second week though. The pool seemed very cold but was great for jumping in when u got too hot sunbathing! We never dined at hotel and had a drink each on one occasion costing 8E, rip off! Minimarket handy for magazines and bits and bobs but SOOOOO opeverpriced, we did our shopping in Faro bulavard by lighthouse, which is gorgeous! Loads of great shops and restaurants! One last thing..... be wary of dolphin trip you can bookin reception at Peurto Rico.... Cost us 48E, then we had to get bus there on our own accord. The boat trip made us and the majority of the boat EXTREMELY SICK, not nice, was 2 and a half hours of hell, and although the guy kept saying "Dolphins in 4 minutes" we saw NOTHING! They gave us free tickets but there was no way we were going back after being sick and we hadn't the time as we were going home. We kept flagging down buses for the way back, and none stopped, so we had to pay 20E for taxi! :( Maybe we just picked a bad day! Our transfer home was at 12am and you have to check out at 12pm which is rubbish, the did give us another room but at a cost of 25E. OVer all i'd give an 8/10 and would more than likley go back. exactly like the brochure picture great pools clean accomodation friendly staff. A short walk from resonable bars and a good holiday park complex. taxis good value for money. No good if you like a hectic night life the bar in the complex closes 11.45 pm ish. Gone are the dys of cheaper meals you have to bargain to get a good deal. dont go on the sioux city trip rubbish show and the rest of the time they just try to get money out of you.The jeep safari is brilliant great day loved by us all. My major gripe is not being able to keep your room on when you have a late flight, our accomodation was empty we only wanted it until 6pm,this would put me off staying here again. maspolamas lighthouse and area is beautiful we spent a lot of time there. on our arrival meeting with rep they tried to push acomplex called anfi, this annoyed us. a great holiday all in all.

We booked these bungalows as a cheap getaway for the summer break. What we got was a brilliant bungalow with a pool side view, great service (they answered all our queries etc) and a good location (5 mins from Faro 2 centre and taxi into Maspalomas/ Playa del Ingles only was around 3 Euro) this covered all of our eating needs. Went for breakfast buffet good selection of foods to fit all tastes. Maids were in every day so the bungalows were spotless. Bungalows also recently updated so are modern and stylish. Never too far from the beach and all in all we had a great holiday! RECOMMENDED! Almost forgot the swimming pool is the best I've ever been to on holiday! Fantastic hidden gem.

Away from the noise of Playa del Ingles this is the ideal setting for a family holiday. There were a lot of young kids and babies when we were there so there can be a lot of screaming going on so avoid here if kids irritate you. The apartments appear popular with the Spanish and they can be either one or two bedroom. There are only about 12 two bedroom and it is worthwhile paying extra for them. All of the bungalows are on two levels so not ideal for the disabled traveller as we found out however they have the Sandy Golf right across the road. To tell you the truth Gran Canaria in general is not good for the disabled traveller at all particularly in Maspalomas. The kerbs are so high that we had to lift our friend out of the wheelchair in order to get the chair on the road. There are three swimming pools here, immaculately clean and seemed to be not many people in them when we arrived. We never had the buffet breakfast but we enjoyed the buffet dinner about twice, great variety but not much for vegetarian, and costs about 12 euros. Thought the staff were really friendly and we even managed to get a bungalow for a few hours when our flight left at night. I would be more than happy to stay there again. The flowers all around the buildings and on your bungalow look glorious during the Summer. A trip into Playa del Ingles will cost you about 4 euros from here, just ask at reception and they will call you one.

Me and my partner stayed here last year and its perfect for somewhere to rest your head comfortably. The apartments are clean and a good size for 2 people if 3 where staying might be a bit cramped. While staying there we never tried the food but from what we heard it wasnt the best but there is plenty of options to eat out near by. The staff where ok one receptionist was really helpful the other didnt want to know if you had any problems. The rooms where cleaned every other day. Both pools where excellent a nice play to go at the end of the day to cool down. The location has positives and negatives. Negatives being that the walk to the beach can be quite exhausting if you are doing it in the middle of summer as gets very hot and no shade on the way. If you prefer not to walk a taxi is about 4 euros to the beach and the hotel supplies a free bus to the beach which runs a couple of times a day. With it not being situated on the beach means its only a 5 min walk to the shopping centre. I have a few videos of our stay on youtube here are the links if you want to see and please leave comments on what you think. :D if you want any further info feel free to message me. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=woOfDoYl5s8 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=29kiN5yyqXY http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VuYWZXgWGk0

Espero repetir. Marta (GRAN CANARIA)

Cordial Green Golf is a quiet, very clean, and comfortable self catering resort. Also comparatively reasonable costwise. Overall it is not surprising to find that it is (at time of writing) listed as #1 in Maspalomas. There is a very big swimming pool, two of them in fact. If you like a proper swim, this is most definitely the place. Also this means there is adequate space and sunbeds for all. Accomodation is comfortable and kept well clean. Beds not particularly comfortable however as other reviewers have said. In terms of location, the resort is about 5 minutes walk away from Faro 2, with shops and restaurants. It is a 4 euro taxi ride up to the Kasbah or Irish centres in Playa del Ingles. The best way to get to the beach is to walk down by the aquduct or canal (just follow the crowd). Alternatively, a shuttle bus is provided. I don't know how often that goes though as we did not use it. It is only 20-25 minutes of a stroll to the beach though. Want some proper exercise? Go to the beach and spend 15 walking up and down the dunes! Most of the restaurants at Faro 2 are of the "international" variety with dozens of variations of the same boring tasteless meals. If you want something a little more adventurous (yet relatively inexpensive), try the Rustica restaurant on the way to the beach. Highly recommended. Some good pubs there, with international sports channels and v.good selection of drinks. Pity to see some of them so empty though, hoping that's the time of year and not the state of the economy. Only other recommendation I'll make is this ... if you fancy an ice cream on the walk to the beach, avoid the Carte D'Or stand at the "Canale Grande" restaurant by the canal. Awful icecream, full of artificial flavours, served with an attitude that was worse, if such a thing were possible. Wait until you get closer to the beach, there is better available there. Hope that helps...

Always find the reviews on trip adviser very helpful so thought I would contribute. Myself and partner spent a week in these apartments and were very impressed, the cleanliness was first class and the maid service was excellent as well ( get a life the woman who had to wash her own plates ) we were in room 222 and faced out onto the golf course, probably the best side of the complex, so relaxing and amusing depending on who was playing golf. The beds are a bit uncomfortable but that is the only negative about the whole place, the pools are first class and the amount of beds by the pool was great, have never been a place where there was so many, while we were there it was mostly german and dutch which suits me fine as they always seem to get high standard accomodation, in fact would rather be with them than some of the Brits I have met over the years, you know the type that think the hotels were built especially for them. Maspalomas itself was a bit dull and quiet, went most nights to PDI, if you eat at only one restaurant then make sure it is El Guacho, food, service and value were great, staff were lovely and really know how to look after their customers, especially the uncle fester lookalike. Prices in the shops are so very expensive, basic food prices in the supermarket at faro2 were scandalous, it might sound a bit tight fisted but take as much basics with you as you can, tea, coffee, cereal etc. In fact the prices are the only thing that would stop me going back to Gran Canaria, i love it. Do yourself a favour and book here, you will not regret it .

Hello every one! We have stayed in this hotel for 2 weeks since 22th Oct 2008. The first thing which we appreciated at its true value was swimming pool. Huge size, nice design. Unfortunately heating system of pool has worked only since 15th Nov. There wasn't any problem with beach bed and so on. Our bungalow was with Mountain view on the left side from the entrance. It was fully equipped for cooking, even for dinner. As bonus we got free TV, because in our room TV lock was broken. No Russian channels, only CNN,Skynews, and too many German TV. I think if you want be near the ocean and spend many time on the beach you would choose another hotel. But on conditions that you prefer to spend 2-3 hours on the beach side and remaining time have for trip or for swimming pool relaxing - its really nice palce for you. It seems last bus coming back from beach side around 15.45. As final i wanna say that its good variant for first trip on Canary isl.

My husband and i stayed in this accomodation Nov 2008 and feel that it represents good value for money. The apartments are duplex style - lounge / kitchenette downstairs, bedroom / bathroom upstairs. Our accomodation was spotlessly clean, not a cockroach in site. TV rental is extra but we weren't bothered about TV. Decor is modern, bright and clean and furniture looks almost new. Facilities within the apartment basic - we ate out every night so therefore did not need to cook but everything you need to cook was there. Swimming pools on site were fabulous - spotlessly clean, big and plenty of sunbeds for everyone. Surrounding gardens etc very well maintained. Bar on site was adequate for our needs, staff polite but not particularly friendly. On site restaurant was terrible - food quality awful, service sub-standard. Bar snacks were ok - adequate for snacking. Minimal on-site entertainment, ladies fashion show not our cup of tea!! If you are looking for a relaxing holiday by day and party life by night (Gran Canaria has numerous karaoke bars, clubs etc) then this is the place for you. Do not expect culture, history etc on this type of holiday. Gran Canaria appears to have been developed for one purpose - to become as much like Benidorm as possible. There are some beautiful designer shops in the centre of Maspalomas, bags, clothes, sunglasses etc and some good restaurants not too far from the beach front. We visited the Las Vegas show and loved it - well worth the ticket price - good entertainment with meal included and the food was good. Maspalomas beach lovely but unfortunately we visited on a windy day and therefore did not stay too long! Weather was mostly warm with some hot days but there were clouds about on the warm days which made it hard to find the sun. Taxis are fairly cheap - location for these apartments good - easy reach of shopping centres etc.. If you like visiting places more than once then you would probably return here after your first visit.

Green Golf Apartments Having read reviews about these apartments we were quite sceptical about what we would find, would they be cold, dark and dingy as we were lead to believe or would the pool be as cold as they say, I was proven wrong on this count, apart from the shoddy Thomson service. The rooms were well appointed, with Kitchenette, Sofa and 2 single beds- sad really as most people holidaying would either be married or couples but nevertheless nice rooms. We had an annoying leaking shower that dripped water on the floor, but so what, we just used one of the daily replace clean towels. In the morning given the time of year, it was cold especially as the floors were marble/slate throughout. The pool was decidedly cold and either the heating was not used for the pool or my ambient temperature checker was out of sync with the real world. But overall, the accommodation was very good, the location was excellent as was the value for money. The pool and pool area was excellent and the staff were brilliant. Given that we travelled off season, should we come back to Gran Canaria this would be somewhere worth revisiting, as it is close to amenities and was within walking distance to the beach and to the centre of Playa Del Ingles. I was not sure what to expect on our holiday to Gran Canaria, famed for cheapfood and booze, hot sun and plenty to do yet with a decidedly dodgy Pount to Euro conversion rate it almost seemed that everything was the same price. Lots of good restaurants, including Roma, La Casa, Adria, and good food at the Gran Chapparal but please read the menu before you go in, as some of the soft drink prices were rather high.

myself, wife and son stayed here self catering for a week in november and have a very nice week with great weather, and is in a good location near to the faro center, holiday world and also close to the dunes. The complex is very clean and friendly, we bought breafast tokens for 6 euros and had breakfast most days and was very good. the pool areas are large with a lap pool running along the middle and the kids pool was warm and enjoyable. The apartment on the whole where ok, our first time in a 2 story abroad, please be careful of the stairs if you got young kids, they really need carpet(how british). Its also close to the waterpark and palmitos park with busses running daily from the main road. On the whole a good week Maspalomas is a nice area away from the main resort of Playa del Ingles and will go back for winter sun, hope this helps

Stayed at the cordial green golf bungalows for a week with my wife , 7 year old daughter and had a couple of friends staying next to us.The bungalows are basic but surprisingly quite modern having recently been giving an upgrade. we found the complex was large with two separate long pools that were nicely designed but the whole place was nice and quiet ideal for what we came on holiday for - relaxing. the bar and restuarant were ok but we were self catering anyway and stocked up beers and groceries from the supermarket most of the time. The mini market on the complex was a bit pricey but a ten minute walk takes you you to faro 2 which is a large shopping centre with plenty of choice for gift shops and restuarants and the like. The nearest beach is a pleasant 20 minute walk or you can use the free bus just outside the complex which picks up and drops off at regular intervals, we found the beach good but quite windy, also there is a nudist area not too far away from the main part ha ha.if you have kids the camel rides at the beach are great and you get led into the famous sand dunes(better to pay for this on the spot rather than do it through the reps, much cheaper.)We had a night out in Puerto Rico and a day out in Playa De Ingles but preferered being in Masaplomas not too far from either, and much more relaxed. Our bungalow faced the road and we would prob had preferred one with a pool view however we were only seconds away from the pool, reception, main gates etc so was fine in the end.Overall i would say that this resort is superb value for money, a good place to stay with no loud noise and a good family resort.

Stayed here over Hallowean, found the property to be well kept the pool area clean and the apartments were lovely. Had no problems with noise at night and for such a large complex was an added bonus. We were self-catering,so didnt eat there but plenty of other clients were which would suggest that the food was up to standard. Try some of the restaurants at the sea-front at the LIGHTHOUSE jn Meleronas we enjoyed the Casa Lola restaurant the most The service and food were excellant.Would have no problem returning to these apartments, they are in a quiet area and if you want more excitement only a taxi ride from playa de ingles. It was mostly families and couples staying here and it was relaxing.

Stayed in the Green Golf for a week in October 2008 with my wife and 5 month old daughter. The apartments are actually little teraced duplexes and are very clean and comfortable. Ours faced onto the road and so had no view but most face onto the pool or the golf course. Its all on the flat so no carrying buggy upstairs. The pool is fab and the food of decent quality. We ate in the Faro 2 complex each night but playa del ingles or maspalomas beach area are walkable (30-45min) or are only 3euro in taxi. Overall a good place to stay if you are looking for a quiet week with meals out a few glasses of wine especially with very young children. Not a lager lout to be seen.

We arrived at the Cordial Green Golf at 10.30 pm but we should have been there earlier in the evening. This was due to a three hour delay because of a techical fault on our Air Europa flight. When we booked our holiday we requested an apartment away from the swimming pools and on checking in found that we had been allocated accommodation facing towards the outside of the complex. As it was dark when we arrived, It was not until the following morning that we found out that we were overlooking the golf course. From reading reviews of this complex we were expecting the accommodation to be of a high standard and we were not disappointed. Our apartment was spotless and during our week's stay the towels were changed every other day and the bed linen was changed once. Some reviewers have commented that the apartments are a bit compact. We have stayed in self catering accommodation with more floor space but we found this apartment to be perfectly adequate in this respect. The onsite supermarket has a limited stock but was handy for getting heavier items like water, although the supermarket at Faro II has is larger and a bit cheaper. We were not sure what to expect at Faro II. Turns out it is a circular two storey building. Felt a bit deserted at times as a number of the units are empty and Maspalomas did not seem that busy with tourists. Ate at Pizzeria PIz-Paz, Toro Piedra II, New Dali (was Ka Nicolas) and Cho Juanillo. Not that much to choose between them - they all have the same menus! Entertainment at night is very low key. On one evening the Cordial Green Golf's entertainment was a fashion show then bingo. Walked through to Playa del Ingles one day but was not impressed, a bit tacky really. The only negative point was our Direct Holiday's rep. At the Welcome Meeting she did not have much to say about the resort, was more interested in selling tickets for the "Reps Evening" or arranging for "your free day out at Anfi and on your return you will get a 45 euro discount voucher to use against the cost of an excursion". According to the Anfi website it is the "number one Vacation Membership company in Europe". Did not expect Direct Holidays to be promoting a timeshare complex. It is easy to see why some reviewers have been to this complex on a number of occasions. If you are looking for a quiet relaxing holiday in the sun at a well maintained complex then the Cordial Green Golf will not disappoint.

Recently spent a week in the Cordial Green Golf Bungalows, and was impressed with the complex. The bungalows have living area on ground level and a bedroom and bathroom on 1st floor. Apparently they were completely renovated a couple of years ago, which is quiet evident. I found the place to be very clean and very well maintained, however the bungalows are a little on the small side and I would think you would be very stuck for space should you need to use the sofa bed in the living room. We had to move the beds each day to access the wardrobe otherwise whoever is sleeping by the window will have to climb over their partner to get out of bed, but it’s only a minor inconvenience. You are provided with very basic cooking utensils but do you really need them? And do not expect items such as hair dryer, or microwave. TV available to rent with very limited English channels, we did not bother with it. The complex has two huge swimming pools (one heated during winter months). I was impressed that the edges of the pools were scrubbed each morning. There were plenty of sun beds to go around. The on site shop has the essentials, but 10 min walk away Faro 2 Shopping Centre has two larger supermarkets. The bar is fairly basic, and I’m not sure what to make of the staff there, they were a little gruff. We did not spent much time there, because just down the road about 40 min walk or quick taxi ride (€3.00) brings you to Faro Maspalomas where there is an abundance of lovely restaurants and bars and great shopping. I would recommend you try the Bali restaurant across the road from the Casino. They have a 17 course feast for two that you should try, also to be recommended is Casa Lola restaurant.

We stayed at the "bungalows" mid-September this year. As noted before - they are actually small 2 storey "houses" with a small terrace, living area with kitchenette downstairs and a bedroom and bathroom above. The balcony outside the bedroom has a washing line for your smalls but no space for a chair! These are fine for a base though I wouldn't want to try to spend too much time inside as it does feel a little cramped! The beds (2 singles) take up most of the bedroom and you have to almost push them together to get into the wardrobe but the fan is a welcome addition on warm nights. The pool areas are really well kept with lovely gardens and extremely well cared for - a few cats around but as we are avid cat lovers that was no problem for us. Nowhere near the numbers you get in some places and obviously well cared for so you won't get hassled by them unless you keep offering them food. The beds at the pool are plentiful (no need to get up at stupid o'clock and get a towel down) though a little uncomfortable with no matresses and, if I was going to have a moan, I do prefer ones with adjustable backs so I can sit up and read or lay down and snooze.... The 30 minute walk to the beach is well lit and at least makes you feel like you are exercising off some of the great food on offer - Antonios fish restaurant on the beach (next to Paddy's Irish Bar) and Maximillians Italian by the lighthouse were 2 favourites. We were very disappointed by Faro 2 - it is quite shabby compared to 5 years ago when we were last there, a number of places have closed down - the locals told us that there is much less tourism in the area now and it is having a bad impact on the centre. The Mexican was AWFUL, the sizzling fajita was barely warm and the vegetable burrito clearly had a handful of 'English' frozen veg shoved in it and warmed through. The on site shop is more expensive for most things though we recommend you buy milk from there - 2 lots bought at Faro 2 were "off" and it was a hassle to trek back (I know its only 5 minutes but in the heat it is a pain!) and argue about.... For .05 cents more get it at the on site place!! The courtesy bus worked fine for us but we did only use it once to the beach and once to Playa D'Igles! All in all, it is clean, quiet, a relaxing location and good value for money. We booked through Travel Republic - everything worked perfectly including a Merc to transport us from the airport to our accomodation!

Stayed at the Green Golf in Sept. 2008. The "bungalows" which are actually two storeys are perfect with all the essential equipment for a self catering holiday. They were spotless and cleaned everyday. Travelling alone for a relaxing holiday I was worried about Green Golf being a rowdy resort but it is nice and peaceful. I had a golf course view and it was very quiet (I recommend the golf course view if you want peace during the day as the others all face onto the pool). The Faro2 shopping centre is only a 5-10 minute walk away, the supermarket here is slightly cheaper than the one in the resort. It is about a 15-20 minute walk down to the beach/lighthouse area (very nice walk past the nature reserve) where there are loads of shops and restaraunts. The resort puts on a free bus to the beach and the taxis were always less than 3 euros. A must to eat in is Grand Italia (at the lighthouse), it is a little dearer than all the others but it is well worth it.

Some of the best accomodation we have stayed at recently. The bungalows are actually two storey little houses. They are very modern and a bonus is the ceiling fans in the bedroom and lounge. They really help to keep you cool at night. There are two fantastic pools but no sun shades apart from one or two 'shelters'. 5 Minute walk to the Faro 2 Shopping Centre where all the restaurants are. Most of the food here was very good, especially Tex Mex in the centre. Plenty to choose from. There is also a childrens playground including trampolines, carousel etc.5 minute taxi ride to Playa Del Ingles and only costs 3 euros each way. Make sure you visit Aqualand water park which is again only a 10 minute taxi ride away. Another nice day out is Palmitos Park which is a 20 minute drive away. We would definitely stay here again.

Good place to stay, bungalows (2 storey?) are compact but very nice with enough facilities for self catering, and had a nice patio area with table and chairs. Bedroom was large enough and the third bed (sofa) was suprisingly comfortable. Bedroom balcony only really big enough to hang towels and washing, not big enough to sit out. Bathroom had a shower only. The bungalows are very clean and well maintained with a maid service 5 times a week. The complex is not too large, swiming pools are great and never crowded, with just enough loungers to go round. On site supermarket is fine, and stocked with plenty of english products but is expensive. Reception were helpful and safe, tv etc were very easy to arrange. Note only 2 english speaking channels on tv - CNN and Eurosport (with simultanious english and german commentary) Nearby Faro 2 shopping and restaurants (it literally is 5 minutes walk just as the brochure said) is ideal for eating out in the evenings. We used Broncemar II (cheap but good quality) and Cho Juanillo (a bit pricier but very good food) the most. At both you get a shot of honey rum at the end of the meal which is very addictive. The supermarket at Faro 2 is much cheaper than the one on site. Don't bother with Holiday World - a very poor set of basic fairground rides Free bus service (opposite entrance to complex) takes about 5 minutes to ge to Maspalomas beach). Lovely beach, nice clean sand, with shops and restaurants to walk around. Free bus also goes to Playa del Ingles (very tacky in comparison to Maspalomas), but a great chinese buffet restaurant (all you can eat for about £6 each) in the shops above the beach. All in all a good break, if your thing is sitting round a pool or on the beach it is ideal.

Facing right on to the pool it was great to relax in the evening in ur own little garden!!! the pools are huge, clean and very relaxing. No problems getting sunbeds!!!! food in the faro centre is lovely(tex mex was fab), also down in melnores the resturantes are luvly and at nite is a lovely place to go.... all in all we had a great relaxing holiday and came home refreshed wud definatly return for another week or two.

Stayed at the Green Golf Apartments from the 26thJuly until the 10th August with my boyfriend and my family in two very nice bungalows, one overlooking the pool and one overlooking the golf course. The bungalows themselves are compact, clean and tidy but do not have enough equipment for the self catering option - very limited cutlery, plates and general cooking appliances - this pretty much forces you to go out to eat in restaurants. The bungalows are very pretty from the outside and the interior decor is very attractive. Pools are beautiful. Well kept, very clean and large. Lots of sunbeds for everyone (surprising for the school holidays!) and very relaxing and quiet during the day and in the evening. Bar by the pool was quite nice, average prices, not much entertainment going on - not that we minded because we went out in the evening. Mini Market on the complex didn't have much to choose from and was quite pricey compared to the other supermarkets we found. Location is good. 5 minute walk to Faro 2 which has a big supermarket, bars and nice restaurants which are quite reasonable. Really liked Cho Juanilo (steak house) which has lovely views of the mountains, brilliant food and great service. Also El Nublo does fab toasties and english breakfasts! 5 minutes in a taxi to Playa Del Ingles and Maspalomas beach/town (costs about 3 euros one way in a taxi - very cheap). Maspalomas beach is lovely, and the town there has some lovely bars and gorgeous shops! Playa Del Ingles is okay but the people that pester you to come into their bar/restaurant can get a bit agressive and it really put me off - some good night life though if you do want clubs and bars. Very expensive for us because of the euro being so strong at the moment - but if I found a good deal I would return to the Green Golf because they were a lovely, relaxing place to stay.

Just back from the Green Golf recently and it was a good holiday...perhaps not a great one though. We booked bungalows through Thomsons several months ago and requested south facing pool view or golf course view. We got north facing by the road...not quite what we asked for and on asking to move was told 4 days which turned to 9. By that time decided to just stay where we were. Apart from that we found the bungalows clean and spacious. First week maid service was great but second week not so...didn't come to us for a few days. Restaurant is adequate but much nicer to wander 5 mins to left of bungalows to Gran Canale or taxi to Faro 2/Meloneras area where plenty restaurants (not the cheapest though) and shops. One warning is bypass the chinese restaurant on promenade as service dreadful. Go to Casa Lola next door and enjoy a great meal and be spoiled. Beaches are fab, pool at bungalows are excellent, plenty of nightlife and taxis are cheap. Dolphin search trip also good and Sioux City is a great night. All in all a good time.

Very clean, gorgous little kitchen and lounge and bedroom and bathroom upstairs, great shower. very clean, not smelly. Compact but not a problem. Lovely pool very clean. Friendly guests, staff average, cleaning ladies very nice. Very safe, good location, in the middle of everthing, Las Palmas and walk along the sea, lovley restauants. We paid about £330 for a week, myself and my best friend for a relaxing week in the sun. Wasn't too keen on the acual country, not much charm or culture, in my opinion but the accomodation is faultless and we had a really nice week.

Good points : Overall very pleasent holiday. Rooms very tidy with maid clean 5 times a week. The pool was beautifully maintained and the surrounding were very pleasent too. Reception staff were to hand 24hours a day. The rep was there 6 days out of 7 so good. The complex restaurant was sufficient and would meet basic needs. There was 2 pool tables and 1 ping pong table which were popular. A lot of sunbeds. Felt safe and self catering accomodation was very good. Bad points : The only one big problem I found and what i found other people agreed was that many flights back to the UK are during the night or late evening. We had to be out of our rooms by 12 midday. There was no where to keep our suitcase during the day apart from reception where people could have just walked in and take it, so not safe. But the main problem was the coach to pick us up wasn't until 23:45 at night which meant we were out of our rooms for just under 12 hours. We had no where to sit but by the pool which left us very uncomftable in that heat. Stuck outside in that heat for that long with no access to proper accomodation was so awful during the heat of the day. When I asked if we could keep the room until the coach left the reception staff had a very bad attitude of "it's not our problem you have to deal with it." So we went to our rep where she just said there's nothing I can do but surely she should of been able to help us find shade from the sun. supermarkets where ridiculously over priced so be warned. Would consider going again but only if didn't have such long wait after having to check out but looking at british flights that travel back from the complex i doubt that would be possible.

We have just returned from a week at the Green Golf Bungalows & wanted to write to tell everyone what a great time we had. As two late twenty year olds, it was our first holiday away together and we ended up booking the Green Golf as a last minute deal. We were not disappointed as it was so nice & relaxing that I wish we had booked two weeks. The bungalow themselves were lovely, clean & modern with a kitchenette & small living area downstairs and then upstairs was the bedroom & bathroom with a small balcony. Our bungalow was facing the road but this did not bother us as the road is very quiet and it was nice being away from the bustle of the pool area. We stayed self-catering and with a small supermarket at the complexes it adhered to all our needs. The gardens around the pool and complexes were bright & colourful and superbly maintained. There were always plenty of sun beds available around the pool so you never had the nightmare of having to wake up early just to reserve a bed. We did eat at the poolside bar once which was typical basic Spanish food. This was ok during the day for grabbing a snack but in the evening we wandered down the beachfront past the lighthouse where there was an arrangement of fine dine restaurants, shops and boutiques. The walk to the beach is about 30 minutes past the dunes and nature reserve and is completely flat. We really enjoyed walking but you can get the free bus from the complexes in the day if you fancy the beach & a taxi is no more that €3. I would thoroughly recommend the Green Golf Bungalows for all age ranges. Being a 30-minute walk away from Maspalomas and Playa Del Ingles you can choose to make the holiday as loud or quiet as you like. There are plenty of bars and clubs in Playa del Ingles if you fancy a night out and Maspalomas offers the lovely restaurants and shops if you wanted something quieter.

I'll keep this concise and to the point. Best Place to eat:- The Bamboo Garden. A short walk from the Green Golf complex this Chinese resturant is fantastic. For some reason its empty most of the time but dont let this put you off. The staff, decor and food are first class. Located next to the dry flood chanel on the way to mas palomas. Best thing to do:- The Super Cat. Booked via tour rep the boat trp was fantastic. A real chill day out. Downside:- If you go to playa, watch out for groups of African women offering to tell your fortune. Its legalised mugging and marred the whole day for us. Avoid at all costs. Hotel:- clean. Great pool (a bit cold). Food wasn't great. Located in well maintained gardens and very quiet.

My partner and I (in our 40's) visited the Bungalows for a weeks break. We had never visited Gran Canaria and it was a very pleasant experience. The accomodation was newly decorated, clean, well planned and spacious enough for 2 of us...any more would have left us feeling crowded. The bungalows are not actually bungalows but 1 storey townhouses. The only bathroom is within the bedroom so a 3rd guest would need to come through your bedroom to reach it. The bedroom has a small balcony overlooking your own little patio and garden. Some of the townhouses face north which means you wont get any sun on your patio garden. We were lucky, ours faced south and we were bathed in sun morning thru night. The walls of the townhouses are really thin and you can here most of the neighbours on both sides. We had an awful neighbour who had a hacking cough and it kept my parter awake a lot. Dont bother eating at the onsite restaurant, it's not good and the 12 euros for the buffet is really overpriced. The pool area is attractive and spacious. The resort of Maspalomas is a 30 min walk or you can taxi for 4euro's. Gran Canaria is a lovely island but beware if you are afraid of heights, some of the roads are hairy and scary so get someone else to drive and lie down on the back seat as I did so that you cant see!! We would definately return to the bungalows, having toured the island and seen some of the awful sky scraping hotels built into the sides of the mountains...just awful.

My husband and I went for a cheap week away and really liked green golf. Admittedly with the current strength of the euro, it didn't end up quite so cheap after a week of eating and drinking, but it was a thoroughly enjoyable holiday. The apartment was lovely - they have been refurbished to a high standard. Great bathroom, large twin/double bed, no air con but the ceiling fan was fine. The wardrobes were in a random place which meant getting in and out of them was a bit of a squash but hardly a problem. We were lucky to be poolside and south facing, so it was nice and convenient to sunbathe in our little "garden" on our own private loungers, and pop in and out as we pleased. The surroundings were lovely - all very well kept, really neat and clean. Reception staff were really friendly. The main pool was huge and there was plenty of room to bathe. Free bus to the beach was convenient and even though we had a car for the week I would recommend the bus as parking seemed to be a nightmare down there. I would definitely recommend aqualand - just up the road across the motorway (on several bus routes or 4 euros in a taxi). It was expensive (23 euros pp entry and more for beds/lockers) but you can get a wristband to allow you back for free at any time within 10 days - so we returned again the next day! Best waterpark I've been to - fantastic slides and great fun. On an evening Faro 2 (a short walk across some wasteland) was convenient for a small range of pubs and restaurants but you couldn't go there every night. We got a taxi (2/3 euros) to Yumbo centre in Playa del Ingles on a couple of nights for a chinese buffet (6 euros) and much cheaper drinks. We also took a trip down to Faro Centre (by the lighthouse) in the car one day to see if it was worth walking down there on a night - but it didn't seem too exciting at first glance so we never made the trip. I now wish we had as it turns out we didn't come across the main promenade of excellent bars and restaurants on the sea front! For a self catering apartment I wouldn't say the kitchen equipment was great (2 ring hob, fridge and coffee maker) but there were plenty of pots, pans and utensils. We tended to just make sandwiches for lunch and eat out most nights so it was fine for our needs. We stayed on a B&B basis but I would probably recommend SC - the breakfast wasn't anything to shout about (our only real gripe): uncooked bacon, boiled eggs, cold beans and a variety of breads, hams and cheese was about the size of it. And we had the BBQ one night - which was ok, but not worth the 12.50 they charged. On the whole, I would definitely recommend the place for a relaxing stay. Yeah, the location isn't great and there's little goes on on a night in the way of entertainment, but it is beautiful and there are so many cheap transport options.

My wife and I stayed at this establishment from 13th - 20th Mar 2008 and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Although described as bungalows, the accomodation we stayed in was actually a 2 floor apartment, living room and kitchen downstairs and a bedroom upstairs. The accomodation was very clean on arrival and was kept that way by the maid service throughout the week. Maid service was 5 days out of 7 and towels were also changed on a regular basis. The hotel has two good sized swimming pools, the one nearest the Bar/Restaurant being heated. There are also plenty of free sunbeds. The pools were regularly maintained and the surrounding areas kept very clean. There are also shallower pools for children and toddlers. The hotel staff are friendly and helpful and the reception staff have a good command of English. They were only too happy to give advice on local buses etc, to Playa Del Ingles and Puerto Rico for example, although taxis are cheap and plentiful. The hotel also runs a free bus service to and from Maspalomas beach. We found the bar and restaurant prices very reasonable, service was good and the same could be said for the food. Prices in the Mini Market downstairs at the main entrance are also pretty reasonable, although choice is naturally limited. If you want more choice, try Netto at the Yumbo Centre in Playa del Ingles. We can thoroughly recommend the Dolphin Search boat trip which we booked via our Thomson Rep (Catherine), also a very helpful young lady. At a cost of 29 Euros each it was a great trip and we managed to see a few dolphins. Thomsons use the "Magic Vision" boat rather than "Spirit of the Sea" . We think that "Magic Vision" is better value as you get an extra half hour on board. All in all we had a great time at Green Golf and would recommend them to anyone. We shall certainly be returning, hopefully, in the not too distant future.

After reading the varying reviews on this hotel and destination, myself and my husband weren't sure what to expect - however upon arrival and throughout our stay we were pleasantly surprised. The bungalow was a good size , kitchen and sitting room downstairs and good size bathroom and bedroom upstairs. Very clean. Small balcony upstairs and terrace area downstairs - luckily we were south facing so could lounge about all day in the sun and retreat inside when we needed to. We ate at the hotel once - the bbq - wouldn't really recommend it for price, not much choice and quality wasn't great. Pools are lovely and there was always space around them. We saw no cockroaches or bugs. Lots of birds around though. The shower had a habit of going hot ocassionally without warning and the amount of times i bent down to pick up the shampoo and turned it off with my bum got a bit out of hand too !! Hotel staff weren't going to win any customer service awards, but we didn't have any real problems. Melanares was a 10 minute walk away and play de ingles about 20 mins. Faro shopping centre at Melanares had good restaurants - Grand Italio and Faro Grill- the chinese was good too. We like our food so were keen to find some good eateries. Also good was fountain de trevi - outside nr the bus terminal behind the Faro complex - and the golf complex / course just to the left of the cordial golf bungalows did some lovely food - and we watched how the other half lived for the afternoon too! All in all it was a nice break - hot weather - 25-30 degrees, bit windy, but not too bad. Would recommend this for couples wanting a quiet break - options to go to some busier bars in ingles and a bit more up market in melanares if you fancied. Really happy with our stay.

My girlfriend and i searched the web reading lots of reviews for the best place to stay - the best resort for us etc and after reading lots of nightmare reviews we eventually decided to go with bungalows cordial green golf. It was everything we could have hoped for - the review title says it all really. I would / have definitely recommend this place to our friends and family. There isn't a view from the rooms as its about a mile and half from the beach but the ambience, friendliness of staff and other guests (mostly 30+ and quite a lot of germans) make up for this. The grounds are beautiful and landscaped and the staff and management seem to take a great pride over the place. Its close enough to bars and shops and the sister hotel across the road does an excellent buffet for only 12 euros - bargain! Good days out can be had at mogan (beautiful and nice cafes / restaurants) la palmas for the day is excellent (lovely back streets and cafes and museums) get there by bus - only a couple of quid - in fact get everywhere by bus! and of course boat which is great also and can be caught everywhere it seems. Porto rico is ok for about 2 hours as its is just so bult up and a bit like a gold fish bowl. Maspalomas is excellent for a day out: great shops and cafes along the front and then the sand dunes and the nudist beach and from here you can walk around the sea front (very interesting) to playa ingles - a lovely walk! Dont know too much about playa ingles - passing through on the bus it just seemed tacky and frankly a bit too camp for our liking (too much in yer face mincing going on) Gran Canaria does what it says on the tin - guaranteed sun and its only 4 hours from the UK. Its not going to change the world or win awards etc but for a quick getaway to a place which is relatively cheap, friendly, sunny and not too far from the UK its does the job. I would go here rather than egypt i feel

Please ignore any pre 2006 revues as those guests obviously stayed before the big refurbishment. We found the apartments very clean and comfortable. Lovely grounds and pool area. Staff friendly and helpful. Not much sun in our particular apartment (north facing). But no problem as plenty of sunbeds around the pool.(sadly no cushions). Shop and resturant were both basic but adequate. The bar closed fairly early which makes for a peaceful holiday. Plenty of bars and resturants at the Faro2 center. 10 minutes walk, or Maspolomas and Player del Ingles 5 minutes in a taxi. Would also recommend the Canale Grande resturant a few minutes walk from the complex. Overal an enjoyable experience with not a bug or bite to report

Booked through Thomson - SC with breakfast added as an option. Flight great and transfers via coach were excellent. Checked in and luckily were given a south facing bungalow. This got the sun virtually all day so was lovely for sunbathing and two loungers are provided in your own mini front garden. Lounge and Kitchen: equipment is adequate with a coffee maker, toaster, two halogen hob rings (super fast heat up) but no kettle - luckily we had a travel kettle with us. Upstairs bedroom with separate bathroom but only a small shower. We have a 15mth daughter who is used to baths so this wasn't ideal but by the end of the holiday she was happy in the shower. It was powerful with plenty of hot water. Safe for hire in wardrobe was huge - large enough for a laptop. A cot wasn't provided when we arrived but a quick call to reception and within 10 minutes someone arrived with one for us. 3 pools (1 baby; 1 heated; 1 freezing) The heated one still felt cold but welcome relief from the sun even in January! OK as long as you keep moving and warm by comparison of pools at other apartments nearly. Baby pool much warmer - like a bath when returning from the main heated pool. The unheated one was practically unused in January. Pools geat for serious swimmers due to their length. Plenty of free sunloungers. Had breakfast as an option which was OK... buffet style. Items were restocked but not always regular. Much easier than cooking it yourself though, especially with a baby in tow. Supermarket on site was OK but not as cheap, or with such a selection, as the one at the bottom of Faro2. Lunch and evening restaurant food in the complex was good value and great but we only ate here a few times. Entertainment OK - we did a quiz (won a bottle) and (watched) karaoke! 2 pool tables and table tennis also avilable. Most nights we went to faro 2 (10 min walk with a pushchair: 7 min without) I must recommend michael Angelo and Cho Juanillo restaurants in Faro 2 as we had some great meals here. There was hard sell with a lot of the restaurants in faro2 so be prepared to be hassled to take a seat even if you only want a look at the menu! Taxi's were cheap (3 euros to beach or Playa del Ingles). Gardens and public areas are all well maintained and clean. Childrens playground had a slide, swings, see-saw and ride-on animals in a grassy area. Overall, this was a brilliant family holiday.

Chose this place from limited availability of Christmas departures from N.Ireland. Stayed 22Dec to 29Dec. Apartment quite small (max 3 persons) - walk into lounge from small patio area with table & 2 chairs. Lounge has 2/3 seat sofa (which doubles as bed for a third person) an arm chair and table, 3 stools at breakfast bar, kitchen area with 2 ringed electric hob, sink cupboards kettle toaster etc. There is a small TV which is an additional cost 10 Euros per week but is very limited - 3 english speaking channels CNN,Sky News & Eurosport. We did not use the TV and were glad of a week free of it. Up to shower room & double bedroom (2 single beds pushed together) with decent storage and good sized room safe which will hold a laptop easily (had expected to use my laptop but was too busy with other things so I can't advise if wifi available, there is internet access available at reception but again I survived with out it!) , leading to a small balcony. Very clean and refurbished in 2006. Our family of 4 (all adults) took 2 bungalows and found them perfect for our needs. 24 hour reception with excellent helpful multi-lingualstaff. good sized communal area housing restaurant, bar and entertainment stage. Nightly entertainment quite varied both in content and quality. Staff good but watch out for oldest member of staff who has an annoying habit of creeping up behind relaxed customers and clicking his fingers by their ears - grow up fellah and save it for the kids. 2 large pools in seperate areas - 1 heated from November to March both with more than adequate sunbeds, tables chairsand 2 pool tables. Extremely attractive clean pool areas, well maintained gardens and a childrens play area away from pool area. Has a reasonable sized supermarket under reception providing all essentials. Good range of excursions available both from Holiday Co. Rep & through reception. Amongst others we took a day trip to Tenerife the main attraction being Loro Parque zoo. Would not recommend this - 5.15am pickup and returned 12.30 am far too long spent travelling 3 hours each way on ferry and too long on bus. Recommend buggy trip highly (need driving licence) a 40 mile on & off road trip especially for closet boy (and girl) racers. Good scenery and good fun. Taxis extremely cheap so use them to get to the many commercial centres where most of the restaurants and bars are to be found. The exception would be Faro 2 which is a 5 -10 minute stroll from Green Golf. 2 restaurants I would recommend are - Cho Juanillo in Faro 2 (had 3 meals there - excellent food at good price and good friendly service) & La Fontana de Trevi at the Oasis Centre in Maspalomas. Very good week, the place was fully booked but at no time did it seem cramped or crowded. Have visited Spain 3 times this year after a 20 year gap and love it so much we are buying property to retire to on the mainland.

I have stayed there three times and I have found the staff to be helpful, friendly and polite. The site is well designed and the bungalows are fitted out to a high standard. I stay half board and the food is always good. It is quiet at night and is not crowded during the day. Though not adjacent to the beach there is a free bus service which only takes a few minutes.

We stayed at the Green Golf appartments for a week at the beginning of March and I really was impressed. The bungalows are actually really cute houses with kitchen and lounge downstairs and the bathroom and bedroom upstairs. The bungalows have been recently refurbished and are modern stylish and contemporary. The setting is a little bit off the beaten track but I really appreciated the peace and quiet and the gardens and grounds are immaculately looked after. The pool area is also very impressive. The only minor downside would be that the allocation of your bungalow is quite a lottery. The complex is north facing, with a road on one side and a peaceful golf course on the other. We were in one of the north facing appartments and were always envious of our neighbours on the other side basking in the sun when we were always in the shade. Although we were self catering we did pay the 11 euro for the evening buffet a couple of times and although not excellent the food was certainly good value for money. All in all I had a thoroughly relaxing time and would highly recommend the Green Golf Appartment. I can't wait to return!

This was our 4th stay at the Green Golf, having obviously enjoyed previous stays. Since our last visit, the accommodation has been very nicely refurbished, though the jury's still out on the external paintwork. We thought it was much nicer when it was all white. I was a bit alarmed to read in another review about burglaries and the response of the reception staff. We've never had any problems, touch wood, but we've always stayed at the western end of the complex, near the golf course practice ground, where access from outside the complex would be difficult. Reception people were friendly and helpful. The bar area is pleasant, overlooking the large pool. We found the restaurant snacks during the day to be OK, but on an evening we always ate out. We did the "Royal" tour of the island with Last Minute Travel for 29 euros each. This can be booked at reception. It was a very enjoyable trip, taking in Las Palmas, Agaete, a couple of pleasant villages inland and Puerto Mogan, which is a beautiful place. The tour guide was excellent. We only encountered a couple of cockroaches and the manner of their demise must have discouraged their friends. We did, however, suffer more insect bites than we have before at this time of year. Perhaps global warming is even affecting the Canaries and making the more vicious insects appear earlier. All in all though , a very pleasant holiday and we would definitely visit the Green Golf again.

I went together with my boyfriend and my brother in law to Green golf. We booked a three room appartment, it was terrific: good beds, very clean. The living room is not very big, but that did not matter because the weather was very good and we stayed outside every day and evening. The people who work there are very nice and helpfull, all the food was also very good. The swimming poole is heated and very big, we went swimming every day. We rented a car and have seen a lot of the Island and also other appartments etc, we were glad to stay in Green Golf, did'nt see any place better during our trips...

Green Golf apartments were well maintained on the outside, the pool area was cleaned everyday so were the pathways. The outward appearance of the apartments were in good order but the interiors need refurbishing. The kitchen area was adequate but again could have done with some new utensils. The bed linen and the towels needed replacing as some of them were well worn. Overall the accomodation was in an excellent location regarding peace and quiet. The maids were very good and maintained a high standard of cleanliness in our apartment. The on site shop was adequate for our needs. I found the taxi service from the Green Golf was exceptional and the reception staff were brilliant at helping me organise a 21st birthday! I would certainly return to the Green Golf. The staff at the Green Golf worked really hard so that we could have an enjoyable rest. M and R

Green Golf - Gran Canaria - lovely - no cockroaches, ants or any other bugs. Pool huge -ask for sunny bungalow/apartment when you book in. Ours had no sun all day due to its position (no. 155) - Faro 2 across road is good shopping complex with many bars and restaurants. Best restaurant in area is Le Provencal, French family run business - excellent food - you can walk to Playa de Ingles or get taxi (E3.00) or bus locally- Go to Port Mogan - beautigul on bus. Beautiful port, beach, lovely shops - reminds you of Venice. We were here for a week beginning 12th Nov.- We give the holiday 8 out of 10 - only because we have already been to Sth. Africa and you cannot beat that. Have a good one..

I went with my family to the Green Golf Apartments at the end of August this year, and couldn't find any major faults with it. Although we did have some ants, it is only to be expected in a hot resort such as this, they certainly wern't anything we hadn't already experienced in other holiday resorts, and we found that a tin of ant killer available from the hotel shop worked wonders! Although our rep warned us that cockroaches were a problem all over Gran Canaria, we only saw one in our two week stay. Our apartment was roomy enough for 3, cleaned to a high standard, sheets and towels changed everyday (except Sundays, when the cleaners had a day off), and we found all the staff very friendly and helpful, always offering an "hola!" as we passed. Although we often ate out at the Faro Centre, 10 minutes walk away, we found the food at the hotel basic but tasty and filling. The pools were massive and very clean, on the few days in which the sun didn't shine the water was cold, but you qucikly warmed up; the weather isn't the fault of the hotel owners, and to be fair, they do tell you that they only heat the pool in certain months of the year. Overall, we really enjoyed our stay at the Green Golf, and would recommend it to anyone seeking a quiet, relaxed break in the sun.

Lovely apartments, very clean and well equipped. Complex also clean and very well maintained with lovely garden areas. Pools lovely and plenty of sunbeds available. Bar staff work very hard and are very friendly and efficient. Well stocked shop which is useful and only a five min walk to Faro 2 shopping centre where there are lots of lovely restaurants. Playa des Ingles close - only couple of euros in taxi. Would recommend going camel riding - lovely way to see the beautiful sand dunes!! Just a word of warning - keep windows and doors shut and locked at night - couple of break ins when i was there
