Volveremos seguro.

We stayed in September 2011 and loved it. As many of the reports say, dont go there if you want lively. But you can get a bus/taxi into Los Christianos for a day (we did that to swim in the sea) if you need to. But we really loved the Apart/hotel and would definitely go back. Met some lovely people there, within 15 minutes of relaxing on our sunbeds, fellow guests and the lovely entertainment guy had persuaded us (not pushed!) into playing a game. Plenty of sunbeds and lovely pool. Such a comfortable place - wish we had stayed longer. Only ate in the restaurant for breakfast the day we were leaving - ok - but we do like eating out in different restaurants and found the wonderful Rendevous Restaurant just down the road. We enjoy walking and the coastal path was delightful and relaxing. The apartment itself was lovely, we overlooked the road, but it was very cool, as opposed to the guests overlooking the pool - it was extremely hot while we were there. Walked to Los Abrigos, so pretty, but it was too hot to eat lunchtime, although we had a few beers there before the walk back. But everyone recommended the amazing fish restaurants there. All staff at hotel from reception to cleaners very happy and helpful. Bed changed frequently and soo comfortable.

We stayed at the Golf Plaza for a week from 4 October and enjoyed a relaxing break in a quiet yet very pleasant resort. Can't argue with any of the recent reviews which I read on tripadvisor and was pleasantly surprised by what we found, I believe they must have improved over the last six months or so as the ratings here are very good of late and deservedly so. Our favourite bits included the food which was of a far superior than many buffet style restaurants, plenty of choice and excellent quality, the staff from the waiters and chefs to the cleaning staff obviously take pride in their work. The half board plus option was most worthwhile (sorry if we took advantage of the self service beverage system!) We transferred from dinner to lunch once without any problems whatsoever, although the food did seem a little disappointing compared with the outstanding meals we had previously enjoyed. After requesting a pool view at check in we were disappointed to be told by the pleasant chap on reception there were none available and were given a room at the corner of the complex by the road. It was enormous and the balcony was even more impressive. Despite being by the roadside we had no issues with traffic, people or aircraft. The odd scraping chair was the only annoyance. The furniture and bedding were a little depressing too but but the beds both in the bedroom and living area were comfortable enough. The entertainment was average, or so i thought whilst watching the parrot fix his car on the bird show (sorry if that spoils it for anyone!). My girlfriend obviously thought otherwise as we are now the proud owners of an 11 week old cockatiel..... Max, the animation 'team', was a happy soul though and he tried really hard to get people involved. I played bingo for the first time in my life there! We went to El Modano for a quick look around and was so impressed we went back a couple of days later. Water sports of all descriptions going on although we preferred to watch from a distance in a tapas bar (can't remember the name but it's a blue terrace from outside with a coke sign above the door to the rear) which overlooked the cove, again excellent food. It costs 1euro 35 each to get here and takes about 10 minutes on the bus (10 euros in a taxi). The best bar in Golf by far was Volare with brilliant cabaret acts for soul and motown fans, which last for about an hour from 11pm but the compere can be a bit tiresome and the evening concludes with good old karaoke, although they weren't too bad when we were there - the performers were all either staff or related to them! This was the only place we found that stayed open till 1am. We had a superb meal at Mama Roma's about 10 minutes walk down the road. A really nicely designed restaurant with friendly and attentive staff and not over expensive. You could also find a couple of bars offering 1euro pints up till 6pm in the same area - the Aberdeen Steak House did the trick for us as we needed to stop off somewhere in 38 degree heat on the way to San Blas which is a 30 minute walk from the hotel. The Irish bars were ok but look out for Sundowners round the back of the Green Park apartments (only because of the Stella 4 at 2 euros....). The Atlantis spa was also a nice way to spend an afternoon if you've been overdoing the sunbathing in the pleasant pool area, we enjoyed the free sensations circuit which you must take in the first 2 days of your stay. The only minor disappointments were that the staff seemed rushed off their feet, restaurant staff doubling up as bar staff, one of which really didn't seem to be enjoying himself too much. This probably contributed to the lack of atmosphere in the hotel bar for the entertainment. Samantha (originally from Bolton) seemed happy in her work though! Oh, and don't buy a watch from the chap in the foyer who won't let you touch them. I think they only work in Tenerife and the straps fall off immediately after he's packed up and cleared off! This is not the hotel's fault though. All in all a thoroughly enjoyable break and are considering returning although it's not something we do.

hi spent two great weeks here 9th to 23rd september.the hotel is great. The rooms are nice and big and very clean.the food was fantastic. There was a good variety each night ,even things for my 14year old daughter who can be very fussy. The pool was great and we never had a problem getting a sun bed, this may be because of the time we went. The planes never bothered us even though they were very close.Would recommend the spa ,you get to use it for free on 1st day of arrival. The down side is the area.Even though we knew it was a quiet area we thought we could have gone for a walk in the evening along the sea front but there wasnt a walkway like we expected. The beach was also a let down ,very rocky and a bit of a rubbish tip.We hired a car for the 2 weeks so location of hotel for us was not too bad, however if we never had a car it would have been pretty boring.Would recommend loro park and siam park as they are great days out.

I booked to stay at this hotel for my mum's birthday weekend, it was really cheap and we didn't know what to expect. When we arrived at 5pm we were very pleasantly surprised, reception staff were very friendly and helpful. When we got down to our room we couldn't believe how big it was with a lovely balcony! we ran straight to the pool to catch the last couple of hours of sun! there is a massive pool and a little baby pool, lots and lots of sun beds and some on a separate part away from the pool. There is a small supermarket and bus stop just outside the hotel, also a taxi rank! if you walk for about 10mins you will find a small selection of restaurants keep going and you will eventually get to San Blas (a taxi is only 4euro's) where there are many different restaurants and a few shops (quite British though). One night we decided to get a taxi to Los Cristianos - that was 20euro's each way but worth it for the beach, massive choice in restaurants and lots of shops! During the stay we were self catering but we did decide to get breakfast at the hotel one morning, for 2adults and 1 child it was 18euro's which was definitely worth it just for the hot chocolates alone, it was an unlimited buffet with all the breakfast stuff you could possibly imagine (next time we stay we will definitely go inclusive as the food is brilliant and we definitely will be going again!). We didn't have time to go and explore the spa but you get a list of treatments in your room, there is also a gym and indoor pool. Before going I read a couple of complaints about the planes being noisy....yes they were quite loud but it caused great entertainment at guessing which company was going over :) over night there are a few that go over but we all noticed that once we were asleep none woke us up (and I'm a very light sleeper) so that did not put us off at all! All in all we had the most fantastic time and will most definitely be going back again! excellent value for money as well and nice and close to the airport so no need to worry about long transfers! definitely recommend! :)

Brilliant hotel for a family holiday! We stayed for a fortnight from 23 August and enjoyed every minute. Our initial scepticism about the size of the apartments (highlighted in many previous reviews) was immediately blown-away upon opening the door (room 128). The space was enormous! They even don't scrimp on the size of balcony, which was more than generous, and in our case looked out over the excellent pool complex and beyond to the sea and marina. Whilst passing aeroplanes are a feature of this hotel, we were not troubled by them and in fact remained a constant source of stimulation for the kids as they passed overhead! Perhaps it's worth noting that the airport is only a short distance away, so it really is not worth booking a transfer with your holiday. With a taxi costing 15 Euros from outside the airport, you'll be quids-in from the outset! We weren't very good at lying still next to the pool (although the kids particularly loved this facility) and took a number of bus trips to explore the South Tenerife region. The bus stop is a few steps down the road and you can get a timetable from Reception. The bus drivers all expect you to be travelling the well-worn route to either Los Cristianos or Playa de las Americas, but we found it more worthwhile heading in the other direction down the coast. This is where you'll find the Spanish going and they keep the best resorts to themselves! You'll find El Medina a particularly pleasant fishing village with Saturday market, interesting shops, good beaches and even a volcano cone to climb for beautiful views of the coast. Whether you choose to take the bus this way or to the more commercialised centres in the other direction, it is far better to take the 483 rather than the 470 as it is more direct, quicker and cheaper! Golf del Sur is a lovely place to stay and is worth a walk or two to get to know the locality. For shops you would either stroll the half a mile (ish) to San Blas, which has a supermarket and selection of restaurants and boutiques. However, it is far nicer to take the coastal promenade to Sans Blas (coming out behind the Hotel Vincci) as the Atlantic waves can provide an awesome display against the rocks. A little further on (on Tuesday evening) you can visit the very small night market in the neighbouring village of Los Abrigos. You can pick up the start of this coastal path from the other side of the Agua Marina Apartments. By the way, its well worth taking this same coastal path in the other direction from the other side of the marina towards Costa del Silencio (complete with another mini volcano!) For big shops where food is much cheaper, head out of the resort on the main road (past the Tourist Information Centre) to La Chifaras, where there are a couple of large supermarkets (inc. a Lidl and Iceland!!). If you choose to walk, it will take about 40 mins one-way - but beware, the shops are not open on a Sunday (at least not when we tried!) We found the food at the Golf Plaza was very good, with an excellent range to choose from each day. Admittedly, the buffet did get a little repetitive by the second week - particularly the breakfast - but this didn't spoil the experience. We went half-board plus, which included evening drinks (red/white wine, sangria or lager + fizz/water for the kids) and were an added bonus! Crossing the corridor to the Entertainment after dinner was often a less productive experience, since the shows were more "Butlins" than Broadway, however the kids enjoyed them. The children will not have early nights at this hotel as dinner doesn't open until 19.30 and the evening entertainment 21.30-22.00. We did spend some days by the pool and found the complex spotlessly clean (as with the whole of the hotel). There wasn't normally any difficulty finding a sunbed amongst those that had been reserved by virtue of a beach towel and the kids enjoyed playing in both the small and larger pools with a number of friends that they had made. Staff were helpful and courteous, contributing to a friendly atmosphere. The offer of a free courtesy room for those whose flights are late in the day to enable showering / changing is a feature of the efforts that are extended to guests to ensure their stay is pleasant. All in all, the Golf Plaza is a fabulous place with amazing apartments and located in a lovely resort. We don't generally return to the same place twice, but our experience over the fortnight may lead us to reconsider this policy. Enjoy yourselves... we did!

Stayed here 6th - 16th September: Lovely clean hotel with big rooms, huge in fact. The kitchen has no microwave would be my only gripe really. The apartment is cleaned daily with clean towels daily. Pool towels are available at reception daily for a 10 euro charge per towel which is refunded on the day of departure. There is no iron in the apartment either but can be hired. We had a huge bedroom, lounge and dining room, full bathroom with bath and shower, bidet, and a kitchen, even the hall area was big! We were self catering so didn't use the 2 ring hob. The balcony was big as well with a table to fit 6 people with room to spare. I did notice though that not all the balconies were this big. We were in room 117, which I believe is one of the better located apartments with a view of both the pool and the sea. There is air conditioning in the apartments. Although the planes come in low above the hotel you end up not really noticing them, in fact there are very few night flights but we weren't really hearing them and they certainly weren't keeping us awake. The rooms must be well insulated. Down at the pool they weren't a distraction and it became quite inteesting to see who the busiest operator was. We found the staff really helpful and friendly. The cleaning staff were always very pleasant as were the reception staff, really friendly and approachable. On our last night our toilet cistern broke, and within 5 minutes of telling reception there was a knock at the door and the handyman had it repaired and cleaned up within 15 minutes. The pool area is large and clean. For the first few days of our 10 day holiday we had a problem getting sunbeds and did have to start booking them, but then the hotel emptied and Spanish families moved in and there were plenty beds, in fact too many so they took them away to get cleaned. We didn't use the large restaurant, but we did get takeaway paella from the bar/cafe in the reception area and it was really good, and lots of it. The staff in there are really friendly too. This is a quiet hotel in a quiet area. We ate up athe commercial centre in San Blas a few times and at another 2 restaurants down at the seafront, about 10 minutes away. You can walk to San Blas but a taxi only costs 4 euros. There is a bus stop otside the hotel to take you to Los Cristianos for 2 euro. There is also a taxi rank on your doorstep. There are 3 computers in the lobby area for use at 1 euro for 30 minutes or you can take your own laptop to the lobby area for the same rate. We were there at the invitation of BIC Leisure and be under no illusion that the prime reason you are there is too undergo a presentation to buy Diversity Points. I have to say though that after that we weren't bothered by any rep. Although the offer was for 7 nights, we actually booked another 3 nights for £50 per night, well worth it. Nice clean hotel in a quiet area.

Ev28ire ,
I stayed at this hotel with my mother from Sept 4 th to 11 th. We were looking for a quiet relaxing holiday and the golf plaza provides just that. Beautiful spotlessly clean hotel with large rooms and access to the roomy balcony from both the lounge and bedroom. All the staff we encountered from reception, cleaning, restaurant and cafe next door were very helpful and friendly. My mother had been meaning to ask for an extra pillow and slept one night with a blanket under her head along with the pillow, the cleaning lady must have realised because she arrived back at the room shortly after cleaning with the extra pillow without having to be asked..... Its the small things like that that make a good hotel. The safe costs 2 euro per day to rent and you can pay 25 euro for a 18.00 check out if you have a late flight. Taxis to and from the hotel and airport cost 20 and 15 euro respectively. The only negative about this hotel I would say is the restaurant food... If not all inclusive I wouldnt recommend it. The caddyshack up the road do an excellent breakast for around 4 euro and Grandee O Donells adjacent to that do an excellent choice of basketed dinners for 6 euro. The small cafe downstairs I would also recommend for a takeaway hot baguette for three euro and very friendly staff. Overall an excellent peaceful relaxing holiday, top notch hotel and we will return....

We stayed for 11 nights and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. The two bedroomed apartment was immaculate and extremely spacious. All the staff were friendly and polite. The apartment was cleaned daily to a high standard. The food was plentiful and offered a good choice. We stayed half board and twice changed from evening meal to a lunch so we could eat out in the evening. The landing aircraft seem close at first, however, our sons enjoyed the experience. Watch out for the Haribo plane on a Thursday! The noise is a little obtrusive, expecially on a Tuesday and Friday but it is not a problem during the night. The area is pleasantly quiet and not in your face. We payed several visits to Grandee O'Donnell's Irish bar a little further up the road. The beer and food is good. The bar in Winter Gardens (Bowling Green) is also great for a snack. We ate at Plaze Breeze in the San Blas area (approx 1km) and enjoyed 2 cocktails for 6E. My only gripe - having to reserve the sunbeds! Something the hotel management need to sort out.

For my family of 5 ( kids 8, 7 and 6 months) it was the best holiday ever. Hotel is spotless , staff friendly, plenty of space everywhere. Apartments are massive and beautifully presented . We have stayed in room 128 with very nice balcony and superb view. Food is really nice . We found grilled food really attractive and tasty, especially fish.We had really fabulous time in Cordial Golf Plaza and we will be back as soon as possible. We loved quiet Golf Del Sur ( except landing planes , but we get used to them after couple of hours and planes were not really an issue for us ) , views from the balcony, quality of service in the hotel . I would say that car is essential if you would like to go to the beach or busy towns . Rent a car is not very expensive. I recommend autoreisen. They have very good prices with no hidden cost of insurances or fuel , car seats free of charge.

We stayed in this hotel in march and had a standard one bedroom apartment which we thought was great. This time we booked the honeymoon suite and it was amazing. It had its own lounge its own dining room a huge spacious bedroom with four post bed. The balcony was something else big is sayin something and the jacussi just topped it of. We didn't use any of the facility's because we didn't need to. We had a car for the week and got around the whole island. I've been to tenerife about 10 times and this is by far the best hotel I've stayed in. Were goin back next year and can't wait

Just spent 10 days half board at the Golf Plaza with my husband and two sons aged 6 and 9.We had a one bedroomed apartment which was very spacious, cleaned every day and had a huge balcony. The sofa beds for the boys were virtually single bed sized and very comfortable. The hotel has a very laid back atmosphere, the staff are all very pleasent and eager to help and when we couldn't open the safe in our room they immediately sent someone up to sort it out. The food was great, lots of it, a great variety (maybe not so good for vegetarians) there was always room in the dinning room never any waiting for a free table and the staff in here were extremely friendly. The pool area was also cleaned every day even the cleaners seemed to take pride in their work! Lots of sun beds and parasols but be prepared to get up early if you want to get a sun bed. My husband used to go down at 7am to put our towels out and even then most of the beds were taken. I see this however as no fault of the hotel just down to" the English abroad" At least we used our sun beds, some people would put there towels out and not use them for most of the day! There is a girl who runs the mini club during the day running activities - mask making, ping pong, and games etc as well as water polo games for the adults. She is firm with the kids and they all seemed to like her. She also runs the karioke and a few quizes etc in the bar in the evening. We only watched one of the shows in the evening a snake show which wasn't brilliant but the kids loved it. It didn't start until 10.30 though which i did think was a little late. The resort of Golf del sur was very small, no real shops to speak of , a few small supermarkets,( the one attached to the hotel does bake it's own bread and croissants) There is no real beach to speak of. The couple of small beaches that are there are very pebbley and not the sort you can lie on all day. We did catch the bus into Los Cristianos to spend the day on the beach and having spent the day in this large quite dirty town where we seemed to hear sirens all day I really appreciated our small resort when we got back. Youngsters looking for a lively time would hate it here but, for a family like mine it was just the ticket! We were also given a free treatment each in the adjoining spa to use in our first two days which we didn't actually use as we were still settling in a bit then. This would have been better if we could have used it at any time during our stay . Overall I would say we had fab holiday and cannot recommend the Golf Plaza hotel highly enough.

Just got back and can honestly say that everything was first class. We went self catering but ended up eating out as there were so many good quality restaurants within walking distance and it was comparatively cheap. The place was spotless (apartment cleaned every day) and the apartment a good size, the grounds very well maintained, we used the spa 3 times (first visit was free) and stayed in all afternoon. Good supermarket in San Blass where alcohol prices were much cheaper then duty free. The bus stop is right outside the door and we got good deals for the parks at the marina - Siam park is a top water park and rivals anything in Florida. Didn't use the pool much as we had good balconies but we did go in at night - the pool doesn't really have a closing time. We went to relav and it really did the job.

Just to start by saying that this holiday was my wifes idea, for a quick, cheap week in the sun we normaly go to 5 star £3000+ a week hotel, so i was not expecting much from the Cordial Golf Plaza, We stayed in a 1 bed apartment self catering on the ground floor, with our 15 year old daughter sleeping on the "put you up" sofa bed, the appartment was huge! We did not have 1 moan from our daughter, (unusual for a teenager), she slept like a log, very comfortable bed, our bed was also very nice, clean rooms, all you bits and bobs you need. The maid service was good, towels everyday etc, We went for breakfast/evening meal with drinks, there is NO all inclusive option, which is great because the client base was family and couples,,,,,nice :-) Food is very good, choice ok, you always found something to eat, and plenty of it! You will not loose wieght with this hotel,! There was a little issue when we arrived with the "sun bed and umbrella wars", however the next day the hotel managment put out lots of extra sunbeds and the maintance team fitted/bolted 15+ extra umbrellas around the pool, everybody got a sunbed and shade ! Will done HOTEL 100% correct thing to do. Now i have praised the hotel , now the not so good things, The evening entertainment, started late and was not of the best, in fact not good, very sad effort, better not to have any entertainment, please dont expect the "Las Vegas Experiance" more 1970's Blackpool,, I would be nice to have a microwave in the kitchen, and coffee/tea mugs larger, You do get planes coming over the hotel, they do not start early and they finish before 11pm, we liked the fact the they came over, not that low (you cannot see faces in the window, low) but they are there,,,,roughly every 40 minutes. I gave us something to watch (better than the hotels entertainment, He He) The planes did not spoil the holiday in anyway, infact we felt it made it a little better. If you want a good, clean, nice food, helpfull staff hotel, this is a it I was very suprised, well done Cordial Golf Plaza!

Have just returned from Golf Plaza after a weeks stay with hubby and 2 teenagers, Hotel is very clean and rooms spacious and airy. We had a 1 bed apt kids slept fine in lounge area which had 2 single size beds which were sofas in the day time. Small but adequate kitchen. We were on half board basis and found the food very good, lots of choice and always something different, great selection of salads, cold meats fruits etc. Breakfast buffet was excellent fresh croissents and lovely coffee. Drinks for evening meals choice of red/white wine or beer or Sangria which was lovely and it's as much as you can drink! Only downside was location not much to do in the evenings, regular bus service into Los Cristionas and Siam Waterpark very easy to get to from hotel which was a good but expensive day out. All in all a great hotel perfect for a relaxing holiday around the pool, but don't forget to put your towels out early to get a lounger and parasol something we found out after not getting one the first morning, up around 6ish from then on to run down to get towels on loungers then back to bed for a couple of hours! Would be happy to return.

MDJ2012 ,
We stayed in this hotel for two weeks in July 2011. The hotel is amazing, spotlessly clean and the staff cannot do enough to help. We were self catering and used the dinner buffet once which wasn't brilliant but was edible. The rooms are huge with plenty of clothes storage and were cleaned every day. We had a fantastic view of the Marina, Atlantic and pools from our 2nd floor apartment. We were a large family who shared 2 rooms however we did not realise there were apartments that had 2 double rooms that were absolutely huge. The location of the hotel is the only real issue, it is a really quiet area with a few bars and restaurants a good 10 minutes walk away. I would recommend the bistro restaurant and we ate out at Zaccary's on 5 occasions the entertainment was great and food very good for a reasonable price. There is no decent local beach and the bus to loro and siam parks only operates on tuesday and thursdays. The entertainment for the hotel was poor it is repeated weekly and consisted of a parrot show, snake show, guitar player, eagle show, karaoke and very poor oriental singer who was awful. The acts spent more time touting for photos than doing the act they started around 10.30 and were done by 11.10. It was full of spanish at the weekend, they turn up at 10.30 leave at 11.10 and on many occasions we were the only people in the room. They have one entertainment person who has 2 days off a week and is a bit stern with the kids and most of the time cannot be bothered. The hotel is amazing for couples however if you are a family looking for entertainment for the kids during the day and night do not bother

My 18 year old daughter and I booked a last minute short break and were so pleased with our selection. The staff were very efficient and helpful – we were in our room within 10 mins of arriving at reception. The rooms were very spacious, clean and well equipped. We had a ground floor room with a large patio area. The hotel was peaceful and the public areas were kept very clean and tidy. The pool was lovely! There were plenty of sun beds and although we didn’t use it, there was a free pool towel service (a refundable deposit of 10 euros meant that you had a fresh towel each day). The pool bar cooked fresh food to order and was reasonably priced. There were daily activities in and around the pool area – but no pressure to take part. We stayed on a self catering basis and found the supermarket directly next to the hotel to be fairly priced and well stocked and we liked the 10% discount that was offered on your first shop, if you were a resident at the hotel. The cafe/bar to the other side of the hotel was also well priced and the food was cooked fresh to order. We found an excellent Spanish restaurant overlooking the sea about a 10min walk away, San Marina II - well worth a visit and well worth the 10 min walk – they had an extensive authentic menu with nightly 3 course meals for 7 euros. (keep your eyes open for the short cut down through some waste land - it doesn’t look like a path – but it is – just follow the signs). We walked into San Blas for the evening entertainment and as two women alone, felt completely safe walking back late in the evening. If you didn’t want to leave the hotel, there was nightly entertainment to suit all ages, available in the function room. With a bus stop almost directly outside the front of the hotel, we took the 20 minute bus journey to Los Cristianos, cost 4 euros each – well worth a day trip. We would thoroughly recommend this hotel for a ‘get away from it all’ break. If you want the buzzing night life and all that comes with it – this isn’t the place for you. Now, just to mention that as the airport isn’t too far away, obviously you do see and hear the planes – but this wasn’t a problem to us at all. We had read some of the reviews referring to the planes and are so pleased that we didn’t let them put us off. The noise was not intrusive and not constant. We had a great holiday here and would not hesitate to recommend this hotel – we would go back there tomorrow!!

Rumer2011,
The hotel rooms were a really nice size clean and modern. The pool area was great with a nice clean pool and plenty of sun beds. The food was good as well but it was worth while visiting the local restaurants. The nightlife in this resort was quite sedate but there were plenty of restaurants and bars to choose from. The resort was ideal for a relaxing break and would also be great for families. We also got to use the spa next door to the hotel for free on one day which was lovely.I couldn't recommend this hotel highly enough.

Stayed in golf plaza 9-16th July, 2adults & 2 kids (10 & 3) Checked in at 1130am wasn't a problem even tho we were early. Rooms were spotless, very big, lots of wardrobe space, free safe, great aircon at your own control. Kitchen well equipped, we were full board so didn't cook, made tea/coffee & used fridge. Huge balcony with a clothes horse, furniture. Room 233 views of ocean, sun from 12 noon till sunset. Pool towels can b got from reception & at deposite of €10, I didn't no this & took are own. Pool area was lovely no probs getting loungers at anytime of the morning. Pool water is fresh water no stinging eyes. Ideal for families/kids, looking quiet location. Bars/restaurants walking distance, tho taxi rank 2mins walk away. Local small supermarkets close by bit pricey, but the mercadonia short taxi ride away, better variety, cheaper. Food in hotel is nice always found something nice for eve dinner, lunch was ok, & breakfast very good. Staff very friendly. Wifi in lobby area 1 hour = €2 or there's rates for 3day or 7day I just paid per hour. Entertainment at nite good as before for families/kids. I got full house at bingo & won bottle champs. We will defo return & didn't find any faults & have stayed in Los christianos before & wood prefer this area & hotel.

Mª. Carmen Lagarejos

We just got back this morning from a 1week holiday to Golf Plaza Tenerife. We only booked 2 days before we flew and found this hotel on the internet. Well, it was the best hotel we have ever stayed in! The rooms were very spacious (kids said they were bigger than our house in England!) fully equipped and very clean. Had all utensils required. We stayed Full Board with drinks. The food was varied each day - even the children who are very fussy found something to eat every day! The pool was big and sunbeds available with parasols. The girls loved the staff and couldn't wait to see them in the restaurant each day to say 'Ola' We had a walk down to the harbour a couple of times and along the seafront. Its a very relaxed and quiet area which suited us perfectly. We will definately be going back next year!! Thank you to all the staff who made the holiday great for us and the girls!

If you're looking for a quiet place where you can relax around the pool, cook your own meals or use the hotel restaurant, look no further! We got a brilliant mini-flat (bigger than mine in Paris!!), including a huge bedroom with comfortable beds, an amazing bathroom (modern and clean, great power shower), a fully equipped kitchen and a nice living-room with sofas and a TV. We also had a huge terrace with a table and 4 chairs. Once again, the best bit about the place is how quiet it is. The staff are lovely and very helpful. Nice swimming pool with sun loungers and a great bar. Now, you have to know a few things that might make you change your mind: 1-You need to drive top find a lively bar/pub/area 2-The South Airport is 5k away, which means you'll see and hear planes flying by all day. This was not a problem for us since we were out most days visiting the island. I was so happy to go back to a safe, clean place at the end of each day, knowing that I would get a good rest. The flats are cleaned every single day. I almost forgot: Visit the Spa (a 4 minute walk away). They have special offers for hotel guests. A nice treat! I would really recommend this place, can't wait to go back actually!

Came back this morning and thought I should let you know that we had an excellent stay in the Golf Plaza. The hotel rooms were massive and very clean. There was daily competitions and activities run for the children like darts, pool, table-tennis, water polo etc. The pool was a good size for the number of guests and also adequate sun loungers for all. There was a variety of food for everyone and going all inclusive was a great choice as the drinks were a decent size and not watered down. Entertainment in the evening was good for the children and for the adults to get involved too. If you are looking for a mad nightlife this is not the place for you but great for families. I must say a big thanks to Grace for entertaining the kids day and night she was brilliant shame I thought her name was Marcia and called it for majority of the holiday! Hotel is situated about 20 minutes from Los Christianos in a taxi and the local bus will take you about 40 minutes, in a taxi it costs about 15/20 Euro's by bus it cost 10 Euro's for a family of four. All in all we really enjoyed our stay the staff were really nice and always helpful, hotel was very clean and there was plenty of choice when it came to food!

I arrived back in England on Monday and I’m missing it already! Everything about the hotel was excellent The staff, food, room, reception area, pool area, reastrunt its self etc we arrived at the hotel at about 9:30 dinner closes at 9:15 but the hotel had kept it open for us and one other family on are plane. We put are bags in a room behind reception and went to eat dinner. We then checked in and went up to are apartment where we discovered we had a two bedroom apartment but we booked a two bedroom and two sofa pull outs this was a good thing (and after speaking to another family we found out that this had happened a thew other families) The room had a kitchen, 2 bedrooms, a en suite (with bath shower and toilet) and 1 bathroom (shower and toilet). The rooms were very very clean and spacious. The pool area is amazing with a massive pool .It was divided by a wooden bridge and one side was heated and the other very cold! There was plenty of sun loungers which you didn’t need to reserve as you were garrunted to get one. The reastrunt was excellent with a wide range of food at every meal inc fruit and a wide range of deserts. The reastrunt staff were nice helpful and polite (especially enriko the waiter and barman who was really helpful and great with the kids). The other staff across the hotel were excellent they would do the best to help you. The kids mini disco organised by the animation lady were excellent for the young kids but we have teenagers so we tend to avoid that until the shows started which were good (apart from Monday nights one)the pool bar was also very good .The hotel is on a flight path but you can barely notice them once you’re in that hot sun. I would definitely go back to this hotel and has already recommended to a friend who has now booked a holiday to this hotel.

Have just returned from a 2 nights stay in Golf Plaza Spa resort on the Gul del Sur, had a huge spotlessly clean apartment with a 2 balconies, one with a sea view. Could find absolutely nothing to fault the hotel and the apartment was definitely the best we have ever stayed in. There was maid service everyday with clean towels and sheets. the kitchen was well equipped ...toaster,oven and plenty of dishes, glasses and utensils. The pool area was immaculate with plenty of cushioned sun beds, two pools one heated plenty enough to swim comfortably in, and one freezing cold. There was a snack bar by the pool selling reasonably priced drinks and great snacks. We were half board and we were extremely pleased with the breakfasts and the dinners on both days. Staff were all very friendly and helpful always greeted with a cheery " Ola" Our only complaint was there was no free WiFi available in this hotel. Best thing was the peace and quiet......not great if you are looking for tonnes of entertainment, but if you just want to relax and read a book without being disturbed its the best!!

Hotel is absolutely perfect. Clean, spacious, friendly and maids are excellent. I stayed here with my girlfriend for 2 weeks and I would go back again only for the location. The location is very quiet although there are approx 6-7 restaurants nearby which are nice. We are from Northern Ireland. Air con works well and much needed in this heat. For Food Go to - 1- Volcanic Islands 2- The Chinese 3- Little Britain - Good English Pub Grub Stay well away from the Itallian Restaurant. Obnoxious and rude and the food was stinking. This is the first itallian restaurant not the second. the second was okay. The hotel pool is superb with one side of the pool heated and the far side was not which give a nice variety. Staff were very helpful. On arrival at 12 midnight we were placed on the ground floor and as a young couple on our first holiday together we wanted moved. We went to reception and they told us to return at 9pm in the morning. after a sleepless night we upgraded to a 1 bedroom apartment with a pool and sea view on the 3rd floor. the view was breath taking. The bus to las americas was cheap. 2-3 euro each way. Only downside is your latest return journey was about half 10 so you couldn't stay for drinks unless you wanted to pay 25 euro for a taxi. Go to Siam Park and Loro Parque. Once in a lifetime opportunity to see killer whales. Best water park in the world without a doubt. Weather was 40oC every day practically but we went in July approaching August. Hotel entertainment was very poor. Although I did actually win bingo one night and was awarded with a free bottle of champaign. Hope this helps. A lot of snobs stay at this hotel but it is not all doom and gloom.

All the staff from reception, restaurant, and cleaners gave the impression of a happy, well run team. All of the hotel including the rooms were kept spotlessly clean. We stayed on a half board basis and had a full breakfast each morning and lots of choice for our evening meal - all the meals were deliciously cooked. The hotel is in a quiet location and not for lovers of a lively nightlife (as in Los Cristianos). Anyone who likes to watch English TV programmes in their room will be disappointed as you can only get boring Spanish programmes and BBC world news. However, if you do want to watch a Premier League match there are nearby bars that screen the games.

My wife and I holidayed here with 6 kids for 1 week during Christmas/New Year 2011/12. We booked 2 ground floor apartments/suites. They were very well decorated and kitted out and were cleaned/maintained to a high standard. The price was very reasonable, considering this is a relatively busy time in Tenerife. We elected to eat breakfast in the restaurant which offered a good selection of food. Possibly not as much fresh fruit as we'd like, but again, for the price charged, it was reasonable. There is a great childrens' activities programme here run by very approachable, enthusiastic personnel. They also manage the nightly kiddies' disco and a surprisingly impressive nightly entertainment programme. If I had a criticism, it would be the choice/standard of food in the poolside snack bar, which wasn't great. Also, the bar in the hotel gets no sun, as it's on the northside (front) of the building, so it's not a great place to enjoy a sundowner. It's well run and the food is better there than in the snack bar, but is sub-let to a contractor and doesn't really feel like it's part of the hotel. The resort itself is quite - there are some restaurants along the promenade, which is a 5-10 minute walk down the hill from the hotel but there is better choice and value in the restaurants in San Blas, which is a relatively easy 20 minute walk from the hotel. Overall, I'd recommend this hotel, particularly to families with young children.

Sergio y Ana.

we stayed a week in november.Apartment very well appointed but strange little omissions like no iron-available from reception for 2 euros! Spa well worth a visit for a little pampering and is free entrance on your 1st or 2nd day.Pools are clean and big with more than enough sunbeds for everyone. poolside bar and hotel cafe/bar good for snacks with the cafe/bar also serving up a good breakfast if required.Location means a hire car or enough money for taxis is needed if you want to explore further afield, but it has to be said there is a very good Irish bar within 100 metres which serves up good value meals.Overall,if all you want to do on holiday is relax and get a tan then this is the place for you

Stuart front of house made you very welcome and made you feel special also staff very pleasant and welcoming . All in all a well spent week-end.

Went to this hotel on a short break and found it to be a very pleasant place. We stayed on a half board basis and the food was served by way of a buffet and was varied and was plentiful. The accommodation was huge compared with most hotels and consisted of a double bedroom, bathroom, kitchen and lounge with large balcony. Some may find the low flying aircraft quite off putting as this hotel is on the flight path of incoming air traffic but it wasn't too bad. Finally, the pool is lovely with a separate one for any children and the hotel staff were very friendly especially Max And the 2 female staff in the pool cafe. Would recommend this hotel very much

We just arrived back yesterday & can honestly say had a fabulous relaxing holiday. Very quiet, a total chill out holiday! Not for those who like pumping night life on their door step but if you happy to jump in taxi for 20 mins its all there. Also there is a really nice Irish bar just 2 mins walk from Plaza. Hotel staff very friendly & work hard for their euro's. Breakfast a bit repetative, found ourselves eating egg on toast but there is a good variety. looking to book for next year as loved it so much :-)

We stayed here as a family of 5 (2 adults & 3 children ages 11,8 and 2) in a one bedroom apt for 1 week in August. On arrival at the hotel first impressions were great and check-in swift with the receptionist being helpful and friendly. We went straight to our room which was fab! Very clean and nice and big - large bedroom with plenty of storage, a lovely big bathroom, a lovely living room with two settees in (which were also the single beds for the children - they were nice and big and very comfortable they said) and also a cot for our 2 year old (this was metal but perfectly clean with nice blankets on) and a brilliant little kitchen with full size fridge and oven! We were full board plus but having a kitchen meant we could keep drinks cold for the children and have a cup of tea on the balcony looking out to sea before going down for breakfast,a lovely way to start the day! We enjoyed the food at the hotel and always found something nice to eat. Plenty of choice and always hot. Lots of salads and cold meats, soups and pasta, a couple of hot dishes (stews etc) and then the grill where someone would be booking meat and fish (steaks, lamb chops, pork chops, chicken breasts, sausage, hake, cod, tuna etc) I found it hard to believe that some people did not enjoy the food and seemed to be expecting "English food"! When you are in Spain,it is nice to eat Spanish food! Drinks were a bonus being on tap to help yourself - red and white wine, sangria, lager, water and all soft drinks. Staff in the dinning room were always pleasant and helpful. The pool area is lovely! lots of parasols and adequately clean. There is a play area which my children enjoyed although it did get hot in the sun! Daytime entertainment was pretty much non existant with the entertainment lady doing a bit of something and nothing really - dont choose this hotel if your children want to go to clubs etc - my children made lots of friends so were happy just playing in the pool. Night-time entertainment was very average but we didn't mind as our children just played with their new friends and as there was only one door in and out we felt they were completely safe. The resort of Golf del Sur was a strange place we felt. It was like being in a resort out of season - lots of closed shops and restaurants and not many people, bizarre in the middle of august! However we didn't mind as we have been places at the same time that are so overcrowded its just not pleasant so this was preferable to that. All in all we loved our week here. We met some lovely people and the hotel is lovely and spotless and all the staff friendly and helpful! We are looking to return to this hotel next year!!

Lovely hotel in quiet location, spotlessly clean, fabulous spacious apartment. Four adults in 2 bedroom and plenty of room. Stayed half board, lovely salads and soup, fish or meat each night and lots of vegetables but by the end of the week was ready for a change. Went to Rendevouz, in Winter Gardens, and it was excellent really recommend it cost 96 euros for 4 including, wine, and 3 course meal. Would go back again

I stayed in early April at the Aparthotel Cordial Golf Plaza along with two friends and I must say that it is SO good! We lived in a large 2-bedroom apartment with several balconies, away from the pool, had a visit from the cleaning every day. We could at some point not lock our door to one of the balconies which we announced at the reception - about half an hour later, this was made by the staff - what a service! Now and then here is noise from airplanes because of the airport that is close, but you get used to this quickly. Located well outside of town, but busses to Las Americas often drive past. Just beside the hotel is a turistoffice which can help you with car renting, tours and excursions. We ate breakfast at the hotel, this was quite nice! We ate lunkch and dinner out in the city...you had to walk a little... I would definitely recommend the hotel to others - it was very great!

Just returned from a 2-week stay at this hotel with my husband and our 4 and 8 year old children. We booked half board plus which is breakfast, dinner + drinks with meals. The hotel is situated in a quiet area with mostly residential accommodation and a few restaurants and other hotels dotted around. No beach access but we explicitly didn't want one as just returned from beach trip and swimming pools made up for this. Room: Beautifully spacious rooms overlooking the pool. Our courtesy room (provided free of charge on last day as our flight was in the evening) overlooked the front of the hotel which was no where near as pretty. We could have paid 25 Euros to keep our room on our last day but it was not available as they were fully-booked. Bath towels were changed every day and toiletries added to our collection. You can hire beach towels for a 10 Euro deposit but they are a bit small. Kitchen is small but functional with fridge, toaster, coffee maker (plug-in with filters), oven & hobs. Loads of cupboard space. Beds were comfy and made every day. TV showed usual junk channels which pleased my kids no end. No iron (you can borrow one if necessary) but hairdyer and safe are provided. All the hotel was cleaned regularly and the staff took pride in keeping it clean. Reception area was lovely, with a little repository of used books if you need reading material. Too many machines selling kids' toys like those little bouncy balls, made it feel a bit like they were exploiting the fruits of my labour, ha! Internet access available at a cost. Food: Breakfast was good, especially if you avoided the usual bad interpretation of a full English. Otherwise pastries, rolls, fruit, yoghurt, cold meats. No omelette chef but there were eggs. Coffee not wonderful so bring your own to make in the room! Dinner always consisted of a number of salads both made up and individual ingredients, vegetables, cold platters, soups (gazpacho + 1 hot soup) and loads more. The lady at the grill would produce the most delicious meats and fish: good tuna fish steaks, sole, sirloin steaks, chicken fillets, pork chops, kebabs. Two different things each evening. Try the fish with the local mojo sauce...yum! Puds were not particularly exciting but such is the Spanish style - fruit, yoghurts, ice cream and local cakes. Drinks included red/white wine, sangria and the ubiquitous larger lager. The cafe next door also does meals but the only one we ate there wasn't particularly impressive. Amenities: Use the free entry to the spa, it's a lovely way to unwind. Shame it is at the start of the hol and it doesn't allow children. Don't rely on the Kids' Club if you need to have children looked after while you attend. The shop next door is handy but doesn't promote the 10% discount hugely. We tried to hire a car from the travel place next door and the lady was very rude so we took our services to the car hire place near the spa (next door hotel) and saved ourselves 10 Euros to boot. Pool area got a little busy on some days, other days it was deserted. Entertainment: I was pretty shocked by the style of the girl in the kids' club, even having read the reports beforehand. "Time for ping pong!" Oh but not if you're a child, it's for adults. Most adults I know can provide their own entertainment on holiday. "Time for karaoke!" Oh but no children singing this time. Have you tried telling a 4-yr-old he's not allowed to sing but the same old adults are? The quizes had the same questions repeated and were not really oriented to the children. Giving this animation girl some credit, she does have to work by herself in the day as well as the evening but given that there was no entertainment on Tues or Sun anyway, and half the time the groups were cancelled if there were no takers, it was hardly a tough job. In other words the pool entertainment and kids' club are exclusive rather than inclusive. Half the time I fantasised about just taking over the reigns and running my own kids club! I heard the girl being particularly rude and curt on a number of occasions, both to adults and children. If your children are easily upset, please avoid. On a number of occasions she made reference to the shows being for the adults and not for the children. She needs to remember that although she might find working with children a grind (!) if it were not for the families holidaying there, she would not have a job at this hotel. The kids' disco was at 8.30 which is a bit silly: 1 hour to wolf down dinner in time for the lousy mini-disco comprising the same 4 or 5 kids' songs. Over in 20 minutes. Then, if we were lucky, balloon play (strictly one balloon per child) leaving the kids to play by themselves whilst enduring a loooooong wait before the shows started. We - and other holidaymakers - found her style hugely disappointing. However, as it was, my kids seemed to toughen up to her style and we used her for her rather vaguely-timed 20-minute sessions here and there. Fine as long as you didn't move from the pool, which defeats the object a bit! The shows were fun but often started too late - 22.30 or so. We sometimesopted to sit our balcony and played cards or read. But beware the mozzies and take some citronella! Trips: Can hugely recommend the submarine trip and hiring a private yacht - we saw lots of pilot whales very, very close up. We also did the volcano trip which was interesting but a bit of a rip-off. It gets cold up top, so take a jumper. In sum, a good break, excellent for soaking some sun and for family time. Nobody really goes to Tenerife for the culture, so if you would like a relaxing break with few frills, go for this place.

We had a great holiday at golf plaza. We have two young children and it was very family friendly. The hotel was always clean and tidy and the staff were very friendly. The only downside was the kids club staff member, she didn't really seem that interested in children and the children didn't warm to her. Hence our children went for the first few days, then werent interested. Overall we would recommend this hotel, we would definitely go again. The resort of golf del sur is quiet but has adequate restaurants and bars.

just returned from the Golf Plaza Hotel, absolutely fabulous place, spotlessly clean, big rooms, maids service every day without fail. Huge pool area, with a childs pool as well. The downsides of the place itself is there is no beach, dont be fooled if the brochure says the nearest beach less than 1km away...this is true, however the beach is black sand and stone and is a very lovely place but is not the place to laze on a towel unless you want cuts and grazes from the rocks. You can swim in the sea but there is a very steep drop after you get through the rocks. Golf Del Sur is more the type of place that people buy property. Also its very expensive, we ate at a tappenyaki restaurant on the harbour and for two adults and a child cost 76euro. we spent around 200euros on taxis to las americas and los christianos which are the same distance from the hotel. we didnt eat once at the hotel so i cant comment on the food. getting round the pool was impossible as the beds where full of towels very early and some of those beds never got used even though towels had been put on, this makes my blood boil, some people put them on just on the off chance they may come to the pool after spending the day out, the hotel should monitor this and discard any towels after a 2 hour period of the bed being unused, there was plenty of room for the hotel to put more beds out. Other than this if you want a very quiet holiday with not much choice of nightlife or eateries this is the place to go. we are going to stay in los christianos next year as its a lot livelier and the choice of restaurants is superb. you are right on the flightpath too, this never bothered us much tho but some people would find it annoying.

Stayed here from 10th August to 15 August, 2011. Nice hotel with very clean spacious rooms. Stayed in Single Bed Apartment with 2 kids (14 and 11) who slept in the lounge where the sofa beds turn into single beds. Staff were very helpful and answered your queries quickly. Food was not excellent but ok, improvement in quality will add to the extra effort the staff put in to make it better. Had a small kitchen as well, good for your morning coffee. Pool area was clean, but if you need a sun bed you need to put your towel early in the morning, we did not spend much time in the pool. Downside to location is there is no beaches nearby. The hotel is in the flight path, but after an hour you forget about the flights completely... Los Cristianos is 2 euros by bus and the bus stop is in front of the hotel which was handy, have 2 beaches. Go to Las Vistas beach where you have good waves compared to Los Critianos. All in all a very realxing week.

My family stayed here at the start of the summer holidays in July 2011. We are a couple with three girls aged 2,4 and 8. We stayed in a one bedroom apartment on the first floor, with views of the pool and the Atlantic ocean. The bedroom was large and spacious, large wardrobe and furniture. The patio/balcony area was large and had gorgeous views of the ocean and of the pool. We also had patio furniture which was great. The apartment had glass doors/windows through atleast a third of the apartment which was a bonus. The living room sofas converted in to single beds and they were more than adequate for our girls. The TV is old school and there are two engling channels (CNN and BBC news). The kitchen is small but does the job. The dining area had a 4 seater dining table and the bathroom was suitable too. Points to note, our apartment had no microwave, twice the key card for our room stopped working but was solved with a quick trip to the reception desk. We had to pay for the use of an ironing board and iron at a rate of 2 euros a day + refundable 10 euro deposit. We also paid 2 euros a day for the car park but then changed our minds as the carpark was underground, really dark and dingy and was where the bins were kept. The smell was awful. There is ample parking outside. Restaurant had a great breakfast buffet and was hit and miss with dinner. There is a restaurant attached to the hotel which is nothing to do with hotel and food here is authentic as well as serving english favourites (fry up's, baguettes etc.) No concierge or porter service but hotel will provide you with a trolley for your luggage. Staff were really friendly and helpful. Especially Anna and a particular waitor who was always there for brakfast and dinner but I cannot remember his name. Pool was clean and the kids loved it. Loads of sun loungers available. Golf del sur is quiet area but most places are close (15 min drive to Los Cristianos and Las Americas). Driving is straightforward and if you are going on excursions then find an agent (next to hotel) who will do you deals (for example twin ticket deals for the water park and zoo). If you have time visit Mount Teide, views are gorgeous and the national park is stunning. Also go and see the black sand beaches which are turly something else. The nearest to this hotel is El Medona a 7 min drive. Siam park is brilliant and a must for families, get there early as all the sun loungers go fast! The hotel is under a flight path but it's not bad as some make out. We ended up plane spotting by the pool which was fun for the kids. They have entertainment every evening in the Piano bar where kids are welcome. Usually a disco for kids after dinner followed by a magic show or snake show etc. Goes on until about 11.30pm. We will be going back at some point. Good choice.

We initially booked for only 1 week, half board plus (which includes unlimited drinks with meals). The rooms are very spacious, as everyone says! We were on the 2nd floor, at the front of the hotel. I disagree with a previous review that says it's a very busy road, it's a one way road that does have passing traffic, but certainly not busy, and you only heard buses and lorries really. The balcony is very large, we could have our uv tent up, plus table and chairs and there was still loads of room. Only downside (for us) is that they didn't provide parasols so we couldn't spend much time on the balcony as was very hot, with no shade in the midday sun. Felt very safe for the kids as there was not a big drop off the balcony, and was also very private. Bedroom was large also, with plenty of storage space (although only a few hangers) and bed was big enough for us to share with our 4 year old son as we didn't really like the idea of sleeping on the sofa bed. Kitchen didn't have a microwave, which surprised me, and would have been annoying if my youngest was still on bottles. Otherwise had all the basic utensils. One tip is if you like a decent size cuppa, bring your own mug, they only provide small tea cups! Swimming pools are good. Initially there was a broken floor grate in the baby pool so was concerned as was sharp but was soon repaired once we reported it. There were plenty of sunbeds but there was a lack of parasols. These were permanent ones so people would put their towels on these ones and would only leave the beds that were in the direct sun - again a problem for us with 2 young children. We had to do what everyone else was doing, putting towels on the beds we wanted first thing in the morning, which I actually don't agree with. Yes you do hear the planes and occasionally they can be very loud, but for only about 20secs and the kids actually loved seeing them go over. Don't go for the kids club. She seems to only favour spanish children. Kept walking right pass us and not asking our kids if they wanted to join in. We took them over ourselves, asked if this was the kids club, she said yes, then pulled in her chair, began talking spanish to the others and left us standing there like lemons. Wasn't impressed. And she was only doing colouring with them anyway! Food was great. Everything they cooked was to a good standard. Lots of variety. My only complaint is that I'm vegetarian and most days there was nothing that was meat or fish free. So majority of the dinners I had omelette, which they did happily make for me. Location is ok. It is in a quiet area. The small area of San Blas is a km away, which is easily walkable but is up and down hills so with pushchairs, is a good work out! If you walk along the coast, be prepared that some of the path is still unmade so a bit bumpy! ALL staff were friendly. From the cleaners to the restaurant staff, to the maintenance men, to reception staff. We had to stay for an extra 5 days as our boys caught chicken pox and the reception staff were very helpful in helping us to sort things out with our insurance company. Once we were allowed out of our room again as no longer contagious, the staff still talked to them and made them laugh (despite them being covered in spots!) Bus stop and taxi rank is right outside so easy to get to the main resorts. 2 euros for bus, 15 euros by taxi to christianos. We would go back and would recommend to others. The hotel we had no faults at all, but just would advise other travellers to just make sure that this area of tenerife is right for you.

JilliannNick,
This hotel is lovely, as previous holiday makers have said rooms are very spacious and you have everything you need. If you are sensitive to noise (like I am) you can often hear noise from your next door neighbours and because the hotel rooms are all based around a central square then you can hear when people leave and return to their rooms etc and with it being such a family friendly hotel there are lots of children which as expected are noisy as they are enjoying their holidays! If possible try to ask for a room away from the front of the hotel as it is a very busy road. On our first night we had a room here and it was very noisy, however we complained to reception and they moved us straight away to a room at the back of the hotel which was reasonably quiet. Rooms were cleaned to perfection and the food was amazing - you couldn't fault it lots to choose from and the staff couldn't do enough for you. Overall an excellent holiday and our little boy loved it!!!! Although we wouldn't go back to the hotel as we would like to try the vincci which is closer to the lovely San blas shopping centre (a must visit whilst over there as they have the best crepperie and lovely little shops!) I would highly recommend!

We have recently returned from a 7 night self-catering stay at the Golf Plaza and had a great time. We were warmly welcomed by reception staff and our 1 bedroom apartment was large and spotless. The kitchen was well equipped with cutlery, glasses, plates etc. The apartment was cleaned every day and we cannot praise the cleaning staff highly enough. Our apartment (314) faced the road at the front and the balcony was great to watch the sun rising. Other reviewers have mentioned the planes overhead, but you get used to this and the noise only lasts a few seconds. The pool / sun area had enough loungers for everyone and plenty of parasols and was a great place to enjoy the sun from. We also enjoyed the chance to use the spa free of charge to do the sensation circuit including jacuzzi and sauna. In terms of getting groceries, although you are offered 10% discount at the next door supermarket, it is expensive and you are better going to the one 5-10 mins away next to the Wild Geese Irish Pub (cut through the Winter Gardens just down the road). There are restaurants within a 5-10 minute walk and a (another) good Irish pub 100 yards away. The only downside for us was the poor entertainment (we tried 3 shows and lasted no longer than 15 minutes at any one of them) as they were poor and no effort seemed to be made (go to either of the Irish pubs or San Blas for night time entertainment). However overall we had a fab time and would definitely consider going back.

Enjoyed our stay here, very clean, comfortable accommodation in a one bedroom apartment with a pool/seaview. Excellent housekeeping. Pool area very good, pool bar food and service very good. Bar/Cafe at front of hotel also very good and amazing value. Only downside is that unless you are a keen aircraft spotter you might find aircraft noise and visuals a bit intrusive! You do get used to it however and we would come back.

We stayed at this hotel for one week from 21 May to today on bed and breakfast tariff. We found the staff most helpful and the apartment very spacious. Received daily maid service and the room was spotless. Disappointed that for 6 days the airconditoning did not function, but this was rectified. Also the pool was not heated during this week. I understand from guests that the evening food was not very varied, but there are numerous restaurants in the immediate area which are outstanding value for money and good quality. We would come back to this hotel in the near future.

Stayed in a spacious room (2 bedr., 2 baths) with my husband and daughter for one week during Easter. We had a very nice stay. Room was thouroughly cleaned every day. Coffee maker broke down the second day, was replaced with brand new one after 15 minutes (!) Pool area was nice and clean, always enough sun loungers. Activities for children every day (water polo, table tennis etc..). As for food quality I can only review breakfast, which was what you can expect from a 4 * tourist hotel; plenty of food but no gourmet standard. I brought my own OJ (the sugary watered-down substance in the so called "juice machine" is not good) and made my own coffee in the room after breakfast. Coffee in the hotel bar is excellent, though. There are several nice restaurants/pubs near the hotel. The Irish pub 50 m up the street (Grandee O'Donnell) serves good food and has a nice atmosphere. Down by the waterfront there are several ok restaurants. Check out Harbour Light (British cook) which serves good food (lovely homemade desserts) and has good service. Yes, as other reviewers point out, the hotel is directly under the flight path. But the planes didn't bother us much. There's a rush in the morning and late afternoon, but no/few planes during the night. The nearby golf course, The Amerych,is very nice.

I have just returned from a 10 night stay at the Golf Plaza Spa Resort and really enjoyed my stay. My friend and I found our 1 bedroom apartment to be spacious, clean and in good condition. We went self catering although didn't use our kitchen at all as it was always our intention to eat out morning noon and night. However, for those of you who would plan to eat/cook in your apartment I can confirm that it was very well equipped: fridge (with small freezer box), 2 ring ceramic hob, oven, kettle (yes, proper kettle!) and toaster. The reception staff were sometimes a bit unhelpful but we never found them to be rude, per se, just not the most forthcoming when it comes to being helpful. We didn't use the spa so can't comment on that. There are 2 pools - one is BALTIC and one is heated. Both very clean and well maintained, as is the surrounding pool area. We favoured some sun loungers up on a slightly higher deck at the far end of the complex, away from the families (ie, away from kids). Never had any issues with getting a sunlounger. You can get clean pool towels everyday from reception. 10 euro deposit per towel and you get your money back at the end of your stay. The immediate surrounding area is pleasant with about a dozen or so restaurants/bars to choose from and if you walk about 10 mins down the road towards the harbour then there are more tapas places and sort of 'typical holiday restaurants' down by the marina. My friend and I found a fantastic Irish Bar - Grandee O'Donnell which is a 3 minute walk from the apartments when you turn left and walk up the way. They served very fresh food, very tasty and massive portions. We ended up eating there quite a lot at lunchtimes and were never let down - everything was fab! The apartments are directly under a flight path and some days (Fridays in particular) there are lots of planes flying overhead (approx every 7 mins or so at some points). That said, by the time you hear a plan it's only about 10 seconds or so before it's gone so the noise is short lived. We weren't kept awake by the noise so I'm thinking it couldn't have been too bad. We were in room P11 - suggest you request another room if you want an early night. It is situated next to the piano bar and the noise carries quite a bit. We closed our bedroom door but you could still hear the noise sometimes. However, it seems to stop around half midnight which is fine. More bars and restaurants to sample at San Blas which is 4 mins away by taxi (set fare of 4 euro) or about twenty minute walk. Recommend The Wigan Tree which serves a very tasty braised steak with onion gravy - melt the mouth beef, lovely! The resort is close enough to PDL Americas (about twenty mins in taxi) at around 20 euro cost. So, if you're looking for a lively night out then head along there, otherwise the bars and restaurants in Golf Del Sur are ideal for leisurely drinks. Volares Showbar is open late into the small hours and serves decent priced cocktails so is worth a visit. There are 3 computers in reception which cost 1 euro for 15 mins on the internet. However, these seemed quite unreliable and a couple of them were out of order for a few days. You can, however, use Wifi in reception so if you take your laptop with you then there shouldn't be any issues. Wifi cost is 10 cents for 2 minutes, so 1 euro for 20 minutes. There are only 3 English speaking channels available on the televisions in the room. We checked with reception, thinking that we needed retuned but alas not. So, we were kept up to speed with all the news on CNN and BBC World News! To sum up, if you are looking for a nice, clean, well maintained and spacious apartment situated in a quiet resort (apart from the planes) then this is a good location and the actual complex is really nice. My friend and I would come back again because we had a really nice relaxing time away from all the hustle and bustle of PDL Americas/Los Cristianos and we got a good deal.

Just returned from a four night break with 2 girlfriends, so impressed with the hotel, it is so spacious, we had a one bed apartment with twin beds in the bedroom and lounge although the lounge ones doubled as the sofa. Small fully equipped kitchen and lovely marble bathroom. The apartment had 2 Romeo and Juliette style balconies and one huge corner balcony with table and chairs. Daily maid service. We chose the all inclusive option and the food was nice but 'samey' after a few days. 10 minute taxi ride from the airport (15 Euros) Entertainment was not too great :0( The hotel is directly under the flight path and aircraft noise is pretty constant but no night flights. Did get woken by a 6am plane though.

This hotel is very good in many respects. It is very well maintained, clean and good value for money. The rooms are very spacious, very well maintained and cleaned immaculately every day. The pool area is good but the water in the pools is a bit cold. The staff in the restaurant are great, very hard working and really make the effort especially with children. The reception staff are a mixed bunch. Some are very cheerful and helpful some less so. When we arrived we were struggling with lots of bags and a young child and they did not ask if we needed any help which wasn't a great welcome. The hotel also says it has a kids club but when we arrived we were told there wasn't one. The food is pretty good. It's not haute cuisine, a bit canteen like but there's always something nice to eat, lots of fresh salads, fruit etc We went half board which is perfect I think if we'd have gone all inclusive it would have been too repetitive. The only slight disadvantage of the hotel is the location in our opinion. It says it's near a beach but the beach nearby is very small and it's very generous to call it a beach. Also there is a small promenade you can walk along but it's nothing special and not very accessible. To get to a beach or have a nice walk you need to hire a car or get the bus. The bus to Las Americas and Los Cristianos is very easy and convenient however. We much preferred with a young child the beach at Los Cristianos. There was a really nice mix of people of all ages, nationalities at the hotel which we really enjoyed. Also my husband complained about the TV and lack of channels but that didn't bother me. When you are booking trips with the travel agent attached to the the hotel beware. We booked a half day trip to Mount Teide as we have a young child who couldn't cope with a full day. The half day trip turned out to be from 7.40am - 3.45pm as we had to pick up and drop off at about 15 hotels which really took away from the enjoyment of the trip. The man in the travel agent said we would be back about 1.30pm. We also went to aqualand through the same travel agent and a similar situation happened again. The man at the travel agent said it would take 30 mins to get there and it took 1 hour 30 mins because of all the other hotel pick ups. Overall though a good holiday in a good hotel.

An apartment with 1 bedroom and a sunny balcony was our "home" for two weeks (self-catering). Excellent service from the staff : cleaning, technical and reception. The Golf del Sur area was not so crowded as Las Americas and Los Christianos and we had a good time and many good walks in this area. Rent a car and you are close to the Highway and Teide is "watching" you and invites to closer friendship !! A super first visit in Tenerife Andreasen, Sønderborg, Denmark

Nice Hotel/staff/cleaning, what you would expect from a 4 star hotel, and still not expensive. Only minus is the aeroplanes landing or taking off just over the roof, but they usually do not do at night. It did not bother me a lot, got used to it, would still go back. San Miguel is a bit remote, but that is what I wanted, away from the tourist getto. A couple of degrees colder than in Playa de las americas and a little more windy. Gotta have a rental car, I can recommend Cicar.

Just returned from the Cordial Golf Plaza. Upon arrival we were given the key to apartment 224. This was on the second floor. It was very spacious and well equipped. It was cleaned every day with clean towels every day and the beds were changed during the week too. The view from our apartment was of the pool area and out towards the sea and got the lovely late afternoon sun. The pool area was nice with plenty of sunbeds. There is a bus stop outside the accommodation. the 470 and 483 go to Los Cristianos. If possible get the 483 it is quicker and cheaper but does not run as often as the 470. There are some restaurants within a 5 minute walk of the accommodation including the Rendezvous Restaurant (Winter Gardens) which was delicious. Also the Green Park Pizza restaurant which made the best pizza ever. As mentioned by other people this accommodation is in the flight path but this did not bother us one bit, There were no flights during the night. For a quiet week in the sun I would reccommend the Golf Plaza.

Didn't know what to really expect, but was very happy with what we found. we thought the hotel looked lovely. Room was massive and very clean. staff were really helpful and food was simple but very nice. Plenty of sunbeds around a nice pool. we both thought it was value for money and a very enjoyable stay.

This is a fantastic hotel. Staff really friendly. Rooms spacious, clean and comfortable. Swimming pool area clean, tidy and good. We were all inclusive - breakfast and lunch okay but dinner at night led a lot to be desired. If you like fish and pork and turkey mince - this is the place for you. I enjoyed the all inclusive as it meant we got everything free and drinks until 12 o'clock which were very generous measures with extremely friendly and attentive bar staff. At 11.30 though you have to go inside as Golf Del Sur is a residental area of Tenerife, so you cannot make much noise after this. Evening entertainment was fine for children though we were not interested as see one parrot show, seen them all! Oh yes, you get a complimentary spa treatment for 2 hours day after your arrival - this was great and a good start to wind down on the holiday! All in all - lovely hotel would recommend it and if you want free drink go for all inclusive but you will do like us and eat out a few evenings which isn't badly priced - 3 course meal in Aberdeen steak house 10 minutes walk away was only 7.95 euro each!!!

We stayed in this hotel for the first 2 week in October. The hotel is really nice and spotlessly clean. The apartments are huge and the maid service is excellent. The pool area is also kept clean and there were plenty of beds and brolleys. The bar and restaurant staff were all very helpful and friendly. We were not treated any differently from guests who were not all inclusive. This may be different in the height of the season when the hotel is full but October is a good time to go as it is still very hot and not so busy. The only thing that lets this hotel down is the food. It is definitely not 4 star. Some nights it was okay but a lot of the time food was cold and there wasn't a lot of choice. Overall though if you want a week in a quiet area of Tenerife and are not a fussy eater then give it a try. We met loads of nice people and had many a laugh in the Street bar (club 62 you will know who you are)

Far exceeded expectations following prev reviews read. This hotel is friendly, clean and in lovley location. Close to the airport but this did not cause problems. Staff were very friendly. Rooms cleaned daily and spotless. Everything you need. Complimentary tickets to Spa adjoining inc in all inclusive package. Pool side towels can be changed daily with a small refundable deposit. Loads of sun loungers and umbrellas. Wide variety of food choice and despite me being very fussy eater. Poolside bar serving ice cream, drinks pizza and toasted sandwiches in the afternoon. Excellant location with bus stop just outside to go to Christianos and Americas at very cheap fares. Local shops within 10 min walk. No beach but 10 min walk to pebble cove. Sea view from hotel. a few markets nearby inc fridays in golf del sur. Only thing to fault is the evening entertainment but great for kids and something on each night. Few bars inc irish ones within 5 min walk. All 4 in my group which ranged from 21,28,42 and 50 had great relaxing holiday
